Shri Harish Rawat a politician from Indian National Congress party is presently a Member of the Parliament of India representing Uttarakhand in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.

In 2000, he was unanimously elected the President of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) [1], and remained so untill he was replaced by Yashpal Arya

In Indian general election, 2009, he left his traditional stronghold of Almora after it became a reserved seat post-delimitation to contest from Haridwar (Lok Sabha constituency), which was leading till last update [2]
