[edit]The Wikipedia Workshop is a short-duration event where participants are introduced to the basics of Wikipedia. The workshop aims to equip its participants with the rudiments of contributing to Wikipedia, and to introduce Wikipedia as an encyclopaedia and a concept to them.
About the workshop
[edit]The workshop will cover the basics of Wikipedia in theory and practice. There will be a demo of editing Wikipedia pages, a hands-on Wikipedia editing session, and a questions and answers round.

Outcome
[edit]The junior as well as senior research fellows and faculties from the Department of Geography, University of Calcutta participated in this workshop. In this three hour interactive session, basic topics like creating account, user page and editing in individual sandbox was performed.
