Welcome Events Courses Resources To Do Participants

As a college for women, Barnard embraces its responsibility to address issues of gender in all of their complexity and urgency, and to help students achieve the personal strength that will enable them to meet the challenges they will encounter throughout their lives.

As part of the GLAM-wiki initiative, the Barnard College Library & Academic Information Services (BLAIS) is committed to contributing content that enriches and enhances the aims of Wikipedia. BLAIS is the primary collector of dance and women's studies within the Columbia University Library System and offers extensive collections and expertise in these areas. In addition to these resources, the Library is a collaborator in teaching and learning and establishes a foundation for intellectual inquiry, ethical scholarship, and lifelong learning among women (see Vision, Mission and Values). Therefore, BLAIS's contributions to Wikipedia also involve encouraging new editors from underrepresented groups, empowering diverse voices on the encyclopedia that anyone can edit.
