Before wrapping in March 2024, a suspension made by an accident that killed some crew members and delay by the COVID-19 pandemic were made. The technical crew includes music composer by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by Ravi Varman and R. Rathnavelu,[b] editing by A. Sreekar Prasad, production design by T. Production

[edit]

Although Indian 2 was conceived as a single film during production, in June 2023, co-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, header of Red Giant Movies, stated that they had discussed plans for a sequel to the film.[6] The following month, it was reported that the film would be split into two parts, as the final footage was over six hours long; the latter titled Indian 3, was being shot simultaneously.[7] In October, Ananda Vikatan said around 80% of the footage had been shot for the sequel, and 25 days were needed to complete it.[8] On 24 March 2024, Haasan confirmed the third instalment in the franchise; he stated that Indian 3 was shot alongside Indian 2.[9] In July 2024, it was reported that Indian 3 was undergoing reshoots in response to the negative reviews of its predecessor.[10]

Release

[edit]

The film is scheduled to release in January 2025. Initially, it was planned for a theatrical release; however, owing to the second film's disastrous performance and reviews at the box office, it will be released worldwide on Netflix.[11][12]
