Your last edit there actually restored the non-consensus version, since Mr Editor 2020 had already reverted his change. Based on your edit summary, I think you meant to restore to the version I had edited. Here come the Suns (talk) 22:16, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Here come the Suns: The article was stable before this edit you made. I did not restore a citation that was not edit warred over, I presume there was some reason to leave it out, but I can restore it too. I don't know which one of you is correct, please figure it out on the talk page and then if needed we can update the article. WarKosign

07:14, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I must have misunderstood you, then. But you have the timeline wrong. The article was not 'stable' before my edit - Mr User200 added that quite recently, and as soon as I saw it, I reverted it. Per WP:BRD, he needs to seek consensus for that edit. If you check the article history, you'll see he has attempted to add this info into the article on multiple occasions, dating back to last year, only to be oppose by multiple users (Avaya1, Icewhiz, Tritomex and יניב הורון). If you want to start reverting, you need to participate in the discussion on the talk page, as well. Here come the Suns (talk) 02:40, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can tell, it was added in these edits by Mr.User200 over 7 months ago and nobody disputed them, so I'd say this can be considered a stable version. It may not be the correct version, let's discuss it on the article's talk page. Please explain there why in your opinion these accidents should not be considered part of material losses. WarKosign 08:12, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No, the Infobox edits (which is what you reverted) were added two weeks ago - [1]. Here come the Suns (talk) 16:59, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the revert WarKosign. Reverted to avoid being banned for the 1RR, like Admin Ed said even if i´m right i should not have reverted Here comes the Suns. I recomend to protect the article further. Current article its "Ok" and stable.Mr.User200 (talk) 11:03, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mirror for a Hero original research

[edit]

The source in the article time loop doesn't mention Mirror for a Hero. The sentence starts with "This story was a precedent to". Since the source you provide doesn't mention anything about Doubled and Redoubled being a precedent to Mirror for a Hero, what you're doing is original research or a misrepresentation of the source. ForgotMyAccountName (talk) 09:23, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@ForgotMyAccountName: the source talks about Mirror for a Hero, and says "There the two men live one day, then wake up to relive the same events over and over again". This proves that film had time loop as a major plot point. Indeed the source does not mention Doubled and Redoubled, but why should it? The article is about time loop, this paragraph lists notable works employing this plot device. Doubled and Redoubled is an earlier example, Mirror for a Hero or Ground Hog day are later examples. Doubled and Redoubled is mentioned as a precedent, which means "an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide". Nobody says that Doubled and Redoubled inspired the other works, it is entirely possible that some of the later authors invented the concept on their own. WarKosign 09:56, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
"but why should it?" because you put it in a sentence that says that Doubled and Redoubled served as a precedent to the film. ForgotMyAccountName (talk) 12:21, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@ForgotMyAccountName: The word precedent did not mean that one work influenced the other, it only meant that it used the same plot device and came before it. I removed the word in the last version of the article, seems like you haven't even looked at it before reverting. What about groundhog day? Are you sure that its source mentions Doubled and Redoubled ? Let's remove Groundhog Day as well. WarKosign 16:19, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the source specifically says that Doubled and Redoubled is the precedent to 12:01 and Groundhog Day. On Wikipedia, you can't synthesize information (as a policy) and you can't add popular culture examples without a source describing their significance (as the current consensus). Kindly stop violating WP:NOTFORUM at Talk:2021 Israel–Palestine crisis, the talk page of an encyclopedia article is not the place for your unsourced opinions not related to the article content. If you insist on sharing your feelings on that page I may ask that you be restricted from doing so. Thank you. nableezy - 01:58, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Nableezy: Yes, thank you for reminding me; I will make an effort to avoid foruming. I wonder, however, why didn't you give the same warning to Nishidani. They forumed about as much as I did in that thread and keeps at it. It couldn't possibly be because you agree with their opinions, can it? WarKosign 15:23, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Mostly because a. that section was derailed because of your comment, and b. youve done it repeatedly across a number of sections. So no, not because of that. nableezy - 21:31, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DS Alert

[edit]

I have made no edits whatsoever regarding the Arab–Israeli conflict. Please clarify or show which edits you are referring to. If this is regarding the 'See Also' blue links I added, please inform me and I will gladly remove them. It is however what most prominent scholars on Mandaeism claim. Mcvti (talk) 23:50, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the 'See Also' addition I made to Israelites, please advise if this solves the issue in order to remove the DS Alert. Mcvti (talk) 03:03, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mcvti: Thank you for self-revert, when dealing with sensitive subjects it's better to avoid edit wars. As DS boilerplate text says, it does not imply that you did something wrong, but that an editor wanted to make sure you're aware of a special set of rules applied to a sensitive subject that you expressed interest in. Israelites is most certainly is an I-P article, so whenever there is any disagreement over an edit it's best to discuss the proposed changes on the article's talk page, reach a consensus and then apply these changes. If you believe your change is correct, please start a discussion at Talk:Israelites and show there that Mandaeism is related to Israelites despite not mentioning Israel or Israelites. I don't have an opinion on the subject, never even heard of Mandaeism before. Perhaps all that is needed is adding a (sourced) sentence at Mandaeism that shows the connection. WarKosign 07:35, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the clarification. I thought the 'See also' section at the bottom of articles were for comparing and contrasting other articles to the main article that may have a connection. I do not wish to delve into a sensitive topic and I did not know Israelites was an I-P article. The information in Mandaeans#Origin states "Scholars such as Kurt Rudolph, Rudolf Macúch, Ethel S. Drower and Jorunn J. Buckley connect the early Mandaeans with the Nasaraeans described by Epiphanius, a division of the Essenes according to Joseph Lightfoot." Also, in Mandaeism#Scholarship, "Scholars specializing in Mandaeism such as Kurt Rudolph, Mark Lidzbarski, Rudolf Macúch, Ethel S. Drower, James F. McGrath, Charles G. Häberl, Jorunn Jacobsen Buckley, and Şinasi Gündüz argue for a Palestinian origin. The majority of these scholars believe that the Mandaeans likely have a historical connection with John the Baptist's inner circle of disciples. Charles Häberl, who is also a linguist specializing in Mandaic, finds Palestinian and Samaritan Aramaic influence on Mandaic and accepts Mandaeans having a "shared Palestinian history with Jews". In addition, scholars such as G. R. S. Mead, Andrew Phillip Smith, Samuel Zinner, Richard Thomas, J. C. Reeves, G. Quispel and K. Beyer also argue for a Judea/Palestine or Jordan Valley origin for the Mandaeans. James McGrath and Richard Thomas believe there is a direct connection between Mandaeism and pre-exilic traditional Israelite religion." I do not want to add Mandaeans to the Israelites 'See also' section any longer due to the sensitivity of the topic, I will leave that up to you if you feel there is a connection or not. Would it be possible to remove the DS Alert from my talk page since it looks kind of scary to be honest. thanks Mcvti (talk) 15:26, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mcvti: I started a discussion about the connection between the articles at talk:Israelites and copied what you wrote here. Please continue the discussion regarding the content there, my talk page is not the place to discuss content of a page.
Feel free to remove the DS alert, or if you prefer tell me and I will delete it for you. These alerts serve two purposes:
  1. To let you know that you were editing sensitive articles and should be aware of special rules
  2. In case you break the rules and things got to arbitration, to serve as a proof that you were aware of these rules.
Whether you keep the alert or remove it from your pages makes no difference to either of these purposes. Don't take this alert system too seriously, it's intented to make sure people play nice. Within I/P articles 1RR rule applies, so editors who are reverted are not supposed to re-instate their edit without discussing and reaching some consensus first. Important Notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

SN54129 11:10, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Serial Number 54129: Thanks. Any particular reason you decided to alert me? WarKosign 11:29, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not him, but it's probably because you've been slapping new accounts that don't align with your views on Israel with this notice (likely scaring some of them, as I'm sure you realize) and that nearly all of your own edits concern Israel. Have you read WP:ADVOCACY and WP:BATTLEGROUND? I advise taking a break. From experience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A420:29:8BA6:80D3:DAA6:7AC4:1C76 (talk) 13:16, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, I'm alerting accounts that show signs of edit warring, regardless of whether I agree with their position. Giving an alert is not "slapping", and in fact by alerting someone I'm also refreshing my own alert, so if this is the reason then it's completely pointless. You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service

[edit]

Hi WarKosign! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over six months.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in six months.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|WarKosign|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you!
