Bot confused about timezone
In this diff, your bot used the heading "January 2008" and signed "00:20, 1 February 2008 (UTC)". A minor point, but in this case the preceding section was "February 2008", so a little confusing. Bovlb (talk) 00:36, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Febraury 2008 misspelling.
I think your bot is misspelling the word February[1] when it creates new sections on user talk pages. This messes up other scripts, when looking for an existing section title for Febraury/February. SaltyBoatr (talk) 17:36, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

VoABot II - possible temporary whitelist?
Hiya. I dunno if I'm missing a setting or something, but it'd be freakin' awesome if, whenever you get a chance, you could have a setting that allows an admin to tell the bot to whitelist certain users/ips from the config page. Cheers =) --slakr\ talk / 03:33, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Helium: bot out of control
Your bot appears out of control on the Helium page. In the last half hour it has blanked the page twice, apparently trying to return to a page previously blanked by a vandal and then restored by a legitimate user. Please check this out and have your bot leave this article alone. In future I suggest programming the bot to revert only macro-deletions and not macro-additions which are more often legitimate. Thanks. Dirac66 (talk) 18:53, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism by possible sock puppet
Today your bot reverted this [[6]] on my user page. I ran a WHOIS on the IP address, and saw it's on a Miami ADSL network.
Earlier today, I thrice reverted the edits of Ryulen1325 (contribs) to The Lord of the Rings, as said edits contained spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors, and were adding extraneous detail to the page. Similar edits had been reverted by another user on Jan 29 and Feb 1.
After the first couple of reversions, I left notes on the user's talk page suggesting he correct his spelling mistakes, etc., and commenting on how some of the details weren't necessary. After his third time he put the edits on the page, I left him a warning that I was going to report him for WP:3RR if he put them back again.
The edit to my page clearly violated Wikipedia's policies regarding personal attacks, and also commented on "creative writing" at the end. While it's circumstantial, the user's page says he's a student at Miami Dade College. Considering the WHOIS reported a Miami network, I suspect it's the same person. Note, also, that this is the only edit this IP address has made.
Is there any way of determining the IP addresses through which the registered user has been editing Wikipedia, to determine if it's the same network as the vandalizing IP address? The registered user's edits are the only significant changes I've made in the past 2-3 days, and I just can't figure out who else might have done it. The Miami connection for both users is a strong one, but I'm not sure it's sufficient to register a suspected sock puppet report.
Should I just drop it, or pursue identification of the IP vandal?
Thanks...

How do I prevent your bot stopping me making a legitimate edit? 60.234.242.196 (talk) 07:55, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have nothing to do with this bot (I came here to report a bug) but I do have a suggestion. The section of text you are trying to edit has an in-line comment in it with lots of exclamation marks. I think that might be what is getting the bot upset - vandals often use multiple exclamation marks but legitimate editors do not. Try taking out the comment, it serves no purpose anyway, the vandals sure won't take any notice. Or at least take out the exclamation marks. I know you didn't write the comment but that's probably not the way the bot is seeing it - it thinks the whole paragraph is yours. SpinningSpark 19:43, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Possible fault with VoABot II
Take a look at this diff [14]. The Bot has inserted a level 3 vandalism warning (time-stamped 18:02 22 Feb) above a sequence of warnings level 1,2,3,4 which predate it (time-stamps 17:52, 17:58 17:59, 18:00). There is another example of the same thing higher up the page on 19 Feb. This seems to have had the effect of delaying the vandals inevitable eventual block. Is your bot being fooled by the multiple February 2008 headings? There used to be another heading above the earlier example but the vandal has vandalised his own talk page. SpinningSpark 11:01, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- How high up do they go? I haven't followed all the details of the standardization really. Voice-of-All 08:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't understand your question. The later example occured on 22nd Feb and the earler example occured on 19th Feb. Both incidents together are the last 14 edits in the history. SpinningSpark 18:09, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- It inserted a level 4 warning. It was in the wrong place because of the two headers. Voice-of-All 20:01, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- In that case there is some undesirable interaction between your bot and Cluebot. They tell me over at Cluebot that warnings older than two days are ignored by Cluebot and it essentially starts the sequence again, hence multiple headers if they are in the same month. Could I suggest that you should discuss this issue with Cluebots' operator as there is obviously something wrong here? SpinningSpark 23:11, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
