Hello, Usernamekiran,
Just a reminder that if you are going to start closing AFD discussions, you should add {{nac}} to add (non-admin closure) next to your name. Also, try not to close discussions too early. Thanks for all of the work you do! Liz Read! Talk! 05:04, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Liz: Hi. It was just a one time occurrence. I had done it manually, without using any script, so forgot to add nac. I dont think I would close AFD again, but if I do, I will use the nac. —usernamekiran (talk) 02:35, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Hi there, I joined yesterday. I was wondering if I can edit and add some information about the city where I was born and lived for 14 years. I know a lot about it, and I noticed that the information on Wikipedia is incomplete. Am I allowed to make edits and add details?
The city name is vasind also known as vashind --SUNBUKING (talk) 06:56, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- @SUNBUKING: Hi. Yes you can edit most of the pages on Wikipedia. However, any information you add to an article should be supported by a WP:reliable source. I will shortly post some useful links to your talkpage. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:13, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – January 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2024).
- Following an RFC, Wikipedia:Notability (species) was adopted as a subject-specific notability guideline.
- A request for comment is open to discuss whether admins should be advised to warn users rather than issue no-warning blocks to those who have posted promotional content outside of article space.
- The Nuke feature also now provides links to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.
- Following the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been elected to the Arbitration Committee: CaptainEek, Daniel, Elli, KrakatoaKatie, Liz, Primefac, ScottishFinnishRadish, Theleekycauldron, Worm That Turned.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in January 2025 to reduce the number of unreviewed articles and redirects in the new pages feed. Sign up here to participate!
Hi mentor,
I hope you are well, please could I ask, what are your favourite sources to find reliable information from?
Best,
Jamie --Jamiegair (talk) 14:07, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
