Why was my contribution seen as copyright? I took public information and add it to the existing page. Also, I made the info already on the page much nicer to look at. I don't understand where the copyright comes into play? - Kody Davidson (Kool Kay)
- Hi Kool Kay, you copied content directly from a copyrighted source (http://www.cceditors.ca/cpages/about). This isn't allowed -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 20:56, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hi There;sNoTime,I wouldn't think you could copyright something like that but couldn't we just remove the part in question and keep the other work I did on the page? Most notably the tables that took forever to format.
- Thanks! 21:07, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Latest news from the Wikimedia Collaboration team, about Notifications, Flow and Edit Review Improvements. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you.
What's new?
The team is currently working on three main goals, which we expect to complete this summer or in September:
- Graduate New Filters for Edit Review core features out of beta:
- The core New Filters features slated to become standard parts of Recent Changes are the ones that have been out in beta for a while and fully road-tested by the community.
- These include the new filtering interface, the machine-learning filter groups “User Intent Predictions” and “Quality Predictions,” the highlighting tools, the ability to save your filter settings for later use, and the new filter groups: “Watchlisted pages,” “Last revision” and "User registration and experience."
- There’s a list of “blocker” tasks we need to complete before these features are ready to graduate out of beta.
- We expect to release those features by default in September. A more precise message will be sent to communities. If you have questions about it, you can write a message on Mediawiki.org, in any language.
- Extend the New Filters to Watchlist: The Watchlists of very active editors can include thousands of pages. To help these busy folks keep up with their work, we’re adding the New Filters UX and tools to Watchlist. The Watchlist and Recent Changes pages are similar, but there is some work involved in adapting the tools to their new setting. That work should be ready some time in late summer or early fall. Stay tuned for an announcement!
- Continuing work on “Integrated Filters”:
- While the New Filters for Edit Review beta brought probably 70% of the old-style Recent Changes features into the new user interface, it left some behind—like the Tag and Namespace filters and the controls for the number of days searched and number of results presented. As the name is meant to suggest, “Integrated filters” integrates those old-style tools into the new UI.
- It also adds some new tools users have asked for, such as:
- “Live updates” which provides a near real-time automatic refresh of the Recent Changes page.
- Category filters, which enable users to search by category.
- User filters, which let you define searches that include or exclude edits by particular users.
- We will put the community-defined related links that cluster at the top of most Recent Changes pages into a collapsible panel, in order to clarify the Recent Changes page.
We should note that it’s not certain these last two additions will make the cut for inclusion this year. If you want a make the case for either one, we want to hear from you.
Edit Review Improvements [More information • Help pages]
Recent changes
- Some styling adjustments are ongoing on the filters for recent changes. [5]
- RecentChanges with the Beta feature were very slow to load on Wikidata. It is now fixed. [6]
- In the Beta feature, you can try the Live Updates feature. Just add
&liveupdate=1
at the end of the URL in Recent Changes page. [7]
Future changes
- ORES review tool will be deployed to Romanian and Albanian Wikipedia soon. These wikis will be able to use predictions filters. To have the predictions filters on your wiki, you need to work on the labeling campaign for your wiki or request it. [8]
- Sometimes the RecentChanges page were reloading before the filters have ended to be loaded. It is going to be fixed. [9]
Notifications [More information • Help pages]
Recent changes
- It is now possible to display the number of unread notifications in the browser title bar, using a gadget. [10]
Future changes
- It will be possible to restrict who can send you notifications on a wiki. This new feature will accessible in your preferences, in the Notifications tab, on Wednesday, July 26. [11]

-
.mw-ui-constructive
modifier class is deprecated and has been removed. [15]
Changes later this week

Perhaps revoke access? A registered editor is betting drawn into an unnecessary edit war over it. Cheers, — fortunavelut luna 10:05, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi: What a horrid person - I've revoked TPA and upped their block to indefinite -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 10:22, 27 July 2017 (UTC)

Question
I was looking through User:HasteurBot/G13 OptIn Notifications and saw [17]. Is there a reason for this? Can I remove this non-entity from the opt in because it doesn't seem like a right fit. Hasteur (talk) 12:46, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Hasteur: That was my previous username if you're wondering, but please do feel free to remove it :) -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 12:54, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hm... Do you want to be opted in on this name? Hasteur (talk) 13:59, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Hasteur: May as well, gives me something to delete -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 14:07, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
- These are notices that a page is coming eligible for G13 in at most 1 month. This runs 1 month in advance of the G13 nominating bot process to give people an opportunity to look at the page before the bot goes through and nominates. Hasteur (talk) 14:30, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

SoWhy
(I'll take this offline from the debate as it'll get in the way)
Key debates that swung it in my opinion were WP:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive287#Deletion of Micaela Schäfer (plus follow up on User talk:Ritchie333/Archive 54#Micaela Schäfer), Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Dodger67 2, Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/CaroleHenson, Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/GeneralizationsAreBad 2 and Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/GoldenRing (plus follow up on User talk:Ritchie333/Archive 56#RfA). I think that's about five debates where I've strongly disagreed with SoWhy, and I've seen enough debates to know where I reach the point of saying "you know what, forget it, this isn't working, let's do something else (or worse)". I've never had that with this guy. To take something like CaroleHenson's RfA, where I'd done some prep, got a co-nom on board, and see it tank with 24 hours, and still come out of the other side amicably is nothing short of miraculous.
The reason I'm bringing it up is not because I want you to change your !vote (I've opposed enough RfAs and got flak for it - as long as you're polite, say what you think) but rather I've got this nagging doubt that the next RfA that SoWhy opposes due to CSDs might well involve an arbcom case for a desysop. I was kind of hoping that putting them in the 'crat position would mean they'd stay away from the coalface of RfA and just concentrate on doing the closures (as and when they turn up) diligently. Or something like that. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:52, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Ritchie333: Just a courtesy ping that I'm reading through the above linked discussions, though I am confused about the reasoning in attempting to get SoWhy into 'cratminship.. -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 20:57, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
Bulldog4 ANI
You closed this without the CU. There is still likely potential that Bulldog4 is Strathisla1. --Tarage (talk) 18:07, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Since Strathisla1 last edited 29 July 2015 there is nothing a CU can do as CU data is only kept 90 days. ~ GB fan 18:20, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Tarage: Apologies, I should have noted that CU wouldn't be possible due to the account being stale in my close -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 18:22, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
Sorry for mishap
hello user:There'sNoTime
on the "Sustainable aviation fuel" page , there are 3 broken external links. I did not want to delete them, as I don't know the system yet. I added a serious Blog on Sustainable Aviation without ads etc. How can I contribute by editing in a good manner on this page ?
thanks, User:Sustainable-Flights — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sustainable-Flights (talk • contribs)
- @Sustainable-Flights: Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia Thank you for your interest in external links on Wikipedia, however given the link you're adding is a blog of yours, it would be considered advertising, which is not allowed. This page contains a number of guides and policies which govern why we do not allow advertising, and this page contains information on external links. All links here use the
nofollow
tag, which means you get no SEO benefit from being linked to -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 19:48, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
well thanks for your corrections user:There'sNoTime, how could I edit those broken links ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sustainable-Flights (talk • contribs)
- No problem Sustainable-Flights. I would recommend just deleting the broken external links. Also, please sign your edits on talk pages (not on articles) by typing ~~~~ at the end of your message -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 19:54, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
NSEL Case
@There'sNoTime As you would notice, have raised multiple consensus building requests which have not been responded to. Have raised a Edit request as well putting out my reasons for the same. Since I am getting no response towards building a consensus , pls lower the page protection invoking WP:UNPROTECT Anrdshr (talk) 08:15, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Anrdshr: As I've stated multiple times, as the admin who protected the page it would be improper of me to take part in discussions relating to changes to the article. I do not care about the outcome of the discussion, as long as it is discussed civilly. I will not be lowering the page protection as no consensus has been gained, and I have a feeling that you would just edit the page and another dispute will start. You need to wait for an uninvolved admin to review the edit request as I will not be reviewing it, making edits to the page or unprotecting it. Is that clear this time? -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 09:31, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- There'sNoTime. Did not' ask you to participate in the consensus building process. You got me wrong there. As for consensus building, have invited all stakeholders multiple time over. If nobody participates, I think I should have a way out to make my voice heard. It's not that you be involved in that, but since you locked the page out, your POV is important I thought.
