ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:15, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Talk:Gypsy-Rose Blanchard
[edit]It's not a big deal, and consensus might've changed, but years ago, I think it was considered Polite(tm) to start a discussion before setting up auto-archiving, as you did here. I think some of that was so a decision could be made on how often to archive. Even if consensus hasn't changed, if no drama happens, no harm, no foul.
Admittedly, one reason I'm even bringing this up at all is because Blanchard is such a controversial figure. I might've been less inclined to leave a message if things were less...active, for lack of a better word. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 04:16, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for commenting. It has been my past experience that starting a discussion about archiving usually draws either crickets or a "meh, whatever" type of response. So, I've applied the adage of "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission" where archiving is concerned, and have rarely encountered a challenge or objection. That being said, your suggestion that controversial subjects might warrant greater consideration than "common" subjects is a valid one, and duly noted. A. - Yeah, it's just a "Meh, whatever" sort of thing that you might've received a similar response on Blanchards' talk page. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 10:27, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
