About your recent AfC submissions
[edit]Hello! I ran into your drafts for Otso Liimatta and Miika Koskela, so I wanted to thank you for submitting them.
However, I made some edits to both pages, so you can have a better idea on how this type of articles should be structured. Remember, portals like Worldfootball.com and BeSoccer are good sources, but they're usually more suitable as "External links", rather than references... Still, I think you've made a good start.
Cheers!

Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

- @Syvä-äksy: Don't do a copy and paste. Here's the explanation page: WP:MOVE. Basically, click the More Tools tab and click move. Then move it to Lasse Schulz in article space. ULPS (talk • contribs) 12:46, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

The article Juho Lähteenmäki has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
WP:YOUNGATH fail.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fermiboson (talk) 11:45, 23 November 2023 (UTC)

Good morning, from Portugal,
first of all, i apologise for my edit summaries, totally uncalled for. Now, for some teamwork: no need for all that detail in the birthplace, it's quite established in the intro and infobox the subject is Spanish. Also, we don't link major countries (i.e. Spain) per WP:OVERLINK.
Sorry for any inconvenience, happy editing/2024! RevampedEditor (talk) 12:18, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- Good afternoon from Finland :) That's no problem. And my intentions were not to claim that he is something else than Spanish. I just thought it is a relevant info to add the autonomous region with the country name, as with Oscar Wiklöf. Happy editing you too! @RevampedEditor Syvä-äksy (talk) 12:34, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
Just chiming in
[edit]Hello there! I'm a bit confused about your decision to revert my edits on Otso Liimatta and Abdoulaye Kanté, so I'll try to elaborate more on why I made them in the first place...
About the first article: when we split the "Club career" section in paragraphs for different clubs, it's usually enough to put the shorter, better-known name of each team ("Famalicão"), rather than their full name ("F.C. Famalicão"), although there are a few exceptions to the rule, like Sporting CP and AC Milan. See articles like this and this one as further examples.
In the second case, I admit I probably went too far by adding that template, but still, remember that all of the statements included in a page need to be supported by citations; I can help you retrieve some of them, if needed! Oltrepier (talk) 14:29, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, yes I have seen both styles used, and I just personally thought it would be better with F.C. prefix.
- And when it comes to Kanté article, there was actually nothing new in the section you marked, that didn't already appear in the info box section, which is also based on worldfootball and soccerway, which are listed as external links in the article already. @Oltrepier Syvä-äksy (talk) 14:39, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- True, but having a few reliable, third-party sources in addition would be nice, in my view... Oltrepier (talk) 14:48, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes I agree, I just assumed those third and fourth tier teams might not have a big media coverage and didn't even try to search, maybe should have. Oltrepier Syvä-äksy (talk) 15:01, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

Autopatrolled
[edit]Hi Syvä-äksy, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 12:05, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
- On a minor note, I did notice the same thing as Lightburst above when reviewing your articles. Overloading sentences with citations is to be avoided because the purpose of citations is to allow readers verify the information—not for our benefit as editors—and it is rarely necessary to cite more than two or three sources for that. If you want to save sources for further expansion, it's better to use a further reading section or {{refideas}} on the talk page. Conversely, every sentence in a BLP really ought to have an inline citation, even if it repeats one from elsewhere in the article. – Joe (talk) 12:10, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! and thanks for the feedback, I am trying to get better everyday and learn all the things need to be taken into account, and change my attitude.
- I started to add multiple citations earlier when Tony Miettinen article was tagged with notability tag even though it already had four sources from different medias, but good to know that it's not necessary and less is better.
- Categories and incoming links are usually taken care of, but I'll try to learn more of wikiprojects and talk pages.
- And I try to maintain at least this level or higher from now on.@Joe RoeSyvä-äksy (talk) 12:36, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
