Wolfsheim picture

[edit]

Hey SteSVN, I saw you added a picture to the Wolfsheim (band) page. Thanks for that!

I like to keep an eye out on the Wolfsheim page because I've edited and expanded it myself (mainly by translating bits from the German page). I'm just a Wikipedia editor like you.

I noticed that an automatic bot has reported a copyright issue with the Wolfsheim picture, see here: File:Art_124492_big.jpg Apparently it needs a little bit more information before Wikipedia can approve it (they're pretty strict about that because they want to avoid legal issues). I'm not sure whether you are the owner of the file (i.e., the photographer, or someone who has obtained the rights), but if not, then it can't be marked "own work" because it belongs to someone else. You can select that when uploading at Special:Upload under "Licensing". Somewhere further down is "Album or single cover".

Again, I'm just an editor as well and I know it's unpleasant to be told "you're doing it wrong", but I hope you won't feel I'm telling you that. Everyone needs to learn, even I did. Wikipedia has some rules and once you start to know them better, it's actually not that hard (and pretty fun too!). You can learn them by doing and sometimes you may run into an issue like this one. If you need my help or have questions, please let me know. I'll try to answer them to my best ability. Take care, --Eddyspeeder (talk) 22:15, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The image has been deleted, not by me but by an automated system. --Eddyspeeder (talk) 09:40, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Wolfsheim 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Wolfsheim 2.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Spaloungecopy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 23:52, 10 May 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:52, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Wolfsheim Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Wolfsheim Cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
