If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Interface Gallery Oakland California requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, society, or group that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ♟♙ (talk) 19:40, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sheilah ReStack, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

I have declined to delete this immediately per CSD G11, as there's possibly something retrievable within it. You now have a second chance to demonstrate how this person (you) meets WP:NARTIST. See Draft:Sheilah ReStack. Try cutting out the art waffle - this is an an encyclopaedia, not LinkedIn or an art gallery. See also WP:COI and note we strongly advise anyone to try to create their own WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY here. Use other platforms, please. Nick Moyes (talk) 20:57, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Sheilahrestack. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:19, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Sheilah ReStack - autobiography

[edit]

We strongly discourage editors like you trying to promote yourself here on Wikipedia. Most efforts are bound to failure. Please use LinkedIn instead. That said, I turned down another editors request that the article you created about yourself should be 'Speedily Deleted' per WP:G11. Count yourself lucky; few other admins would, so you now have a second chance. This is an encyclopaedia; we don't need 'art bollocks' like "ReStack's work is known for consistently offering methods of reconsidering narrative, place and history to allow in the personal as a point of rupture." or "ReStack has had a long standing interest in the possibility of photography to be subverted by/through the body to yield something defiant, unpredictable." We are an encyclopaedia, not an art gallery where such writing is de rigour. You need to find detailed, in depth and independent articles about yourself well outside the arts world to demonstrate that you meet WP:NARTIST or WP:NBIO. If you can't do that, the article will not get into mainspace. It was pointless aiming for WP:PEERREVIEW when review at WP:AFC is more appropriate. I have added a button for you to submit this draft to WP:AFC, but you will need to work on sources before you attempt that. You have a clear WP:COI, so please declare your connection to the article. You may be blocked from editing if you fail to do that, as we also block users who 'pretend' to be the subject they write about. Hope this helps, Nick Moyes (talk) 23:13, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. I would have deleted it. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 00:31, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I would like some more help reviewing my sheilah restack article! I would like it to be as neutral as possible. Please let me know how I'm doing so I can publish this page! Also I would love suggestions about what category to put this article in? Sheilah Restack is a living person but also a contemporary artist so should she be listed underneath artists or should this be a biography ? When does something become a biography page??? Thanks!!

License tagging for File:The Invisible Inside The Visible.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Invisible Inside The Visible.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:31, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:The Invisible Inside The Visible.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:The Invisible Inside The Visible.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 14:24, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
