Sir I need help someone removing sourced content about Dimasa people. Most of the Dimasa people claim to be Hindus, but someone doesn't accept it and remove it, please he keep reverting my sourced edits about Dimasa religion 203.78.114.187 (talk) 12:28, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for bringing this to my attention. If sourced content about the Dimasa people's religion is being removed repeatedly, it might be considered disruptive editing. I have already requested page protection to address this issue. Please provide diffs of the edits for further review. Aryan{Talk} 14:02, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
Regarding Edits to the ISKCON Article
[edit]Hello, thank you for your contributions to the ISKCON article. I wanted to address a few important points regarding recent edits:
1. Please avoid reverting edits unnecessarily. Before tagging statements with WP:CN (Citation Needed), carefully review the existing citations. In many cases, the citations already cover the information presented in the text. Adding citation tags redundantly goes against Wikipedia's guidelines on overcitation.
2. Adding the WP:NPOV tag to the controversy section may not be appropriate. The persecution section reflects the instances of persecution faced by ISKCON and is supported by reliable sources.
3. Regarding the use of Indian media as sources: While Indian newspapers can sometimes provide useful information, it’s important to evaluate their reliability on a case-by-case basis. Per WP:RS (Reliable Sources), we should be cautious when citing politically motivated or opinion-based reports, especially for sensitive topics like ISKCON. For example, the 2024 Bangladesh anti-Hindu violence#Disinformation section highlights instances where misinformation and sensationalized reports in Indian media have misrepresented events related to Hindu organizations.[1] Claims from individual opinions (for example - Taslima Nasrin’s claims) or allegations should ideally be corroborated by multiple independent and reliable sources before inclusion.
4. Citation in every line is not required, as long as the content is supported by reliable sources within the same paragraph or section. This aligns with Wikipedia's guidelines on verifiability and readability.
I encourage you to review the references carefully. Thank you for your understanding and happy editing! --- Cerium4B • Talk? • 05:53, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback. However, I must clarify several points regarding the editing process:
1. Citation Needed Tag: While I understand your concern about overcitation, it’s essential to ensure that every significant claim is fully supported by reliable sources. Some of the citations already present not directly support all claims, which is why I tagged certain statements. I would be happy to remove the 'cn' tag if you can provide a reliable source that supports the claim, along with the specific sentence or paragraph from the source. Siamsami2 has already added several in this regard.
2. NPOV Tag on the Persecution Section: Regarding the addition of the NPOV tag, it’s important to note that Wikipedia's neutrality guidelines require that all significant viewpoints be presented fairly. If the persecution section only highlights one side of the issue or relies on sources with a clear bias, the NPOV tag may be necessary. I appreciate your point, but we need to make sure that all perspectives are represented in a balanced and impartial manner. By the way, I mentioned 'NPOV' in the edit summary instead of 'persecution' when I was rewriting it in a neutral point of view.
3. Use of Indian Media as Sources: I agree that we must evaluate sources critically, especially with sensitive topics like ISKCON and religious violence. However, the claim that Indian media reports are inherently unreliable for this topic is an overgeneralization. Many Indian outlets have provided crucial context to this incident. While some sources like Republic Bangla, Zee news indeed present biased views and fake news sometimes, same goes with some political party affiliated news portals. It is important to assess reliability individually and use them accordingly. In the case of individual comments or allegations, we can present them as "according to [source]" or "as per [source]" to maintain clarity and neutrality, especially when they are not corroborated by other independent sources.
4. Citation Requirement: I agree that citations do not need to be added in every single line, as long as the content is well-supported by reliable sources within the same section. The goal is not to overwhelm the reader but to ensure verifiability. I will certainly review the citations and streamline where necessary. Aryan{Talk} 06:21, 28 November 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of TBSBD
[edit]A tag has been placed on TBSBD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
