Chiclana de la frontera.

Hello. I have been looking over the page on CDLF, and see that you have put a link to a turn of the century novel. In itself quite fascinating within its genre and there are various editions on archive.org. But I must admit I could not bring myself to get to where it mentioned Chiclana or the Phoenician presence here through all the prose and thrills. ¿Would it be possibly nice if you could provide a page reference please?. 95.63.84.142 (talk) 20:39, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

Hello Rosiesteph. ¿ If you were to go to the current CDLF page, the history section, Number 8? Failing that It was an edit of 15 January 2012. The car of destiny and its.. etc ! Which, whilst it certainly is an interesting example of pre war literature, it is hardly to be taken seriously as an authoritative source for this subject . However it would be, as I said, possibly nice if you were to give a page reference? so that those whose interest had been piqued could access the information without wading through pages and pages of florid prose, bad behaviour and and out-dated attitudes (sorry but thats how it comes across). I don't know how much knowledge or interest in the ancient history of this area you have or if you are able to understand ¿Spanish?. A great deal has happened here since 2012, cf the Spanish version of the page which is far more up to date I just didn't want to delete and overwrite your contributions unilaterally. I did review the part of the sentence related to citation #8. That link didn't support that claim, ergo, I thought I should see what other sources I used in 2012 and/or do further research in this regard later today (it's 03:58 at my home right now), but as your tone has escalated, instead, I just removed the part of the sentence in question and the accompanying citation. --Rosiestep (talk) 11:58, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

This article seems too dependent on one source and seems to reflect the flowery language in that source. It does not, to me, read like a Wikipedia article. Thank you for both links (Friederike Mayröcker and Hauptfriedhof Mainz); enjoyed reading both articles. That "She experimented with language" is particularly interesting to me; I'll see about reading some of her work. I was at an event earlier this month where each person was asked which book(s) changed their life, and I responded by starting with "'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe" before giving my answer (Alice in Wonderland); I have been in awe of experimental language since my mother read me those words. (The second book that I said changed my life was Fahrenheit 451, which led me to become a bibliophile, which led me to collecting books by Book League of America, which led me to making my first edits on Wikipedia.) --Rosiestep (talk) 12:30, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for sharing! - Bibliophile: did you see the video made for her centenary, with someone in love with her books (involved in publishing them) showing them? The talk is in German but the way he turns pages and show is so telling! - Today it's another great woman, soprano Sigrid Kehl, and I found a 1963 Christmas Oratorio detail. (I wrote the article about Paulinerkirche, DYK?) 10 years earlier than that cycle, Bach wrote seven cantatas for the 1724 season, based on seven songs, - my focus this year, and the finish is tough. Guideline and policy news

• Following an RFC, the policy on restoration of adminship has been updated. All former administrators may now only regain the tools following a request at the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard within 5 years of their most recent admin action. Previously this applied only to administrators deysopped for inactivity.
• Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, T5, has been enacted. This applies to template subpages that are no longer used.

Technical news

• Technical volunteers can now register for the 2025 Wikimedia Hackathon, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. Application for travel and accommodation scholarships is open from November 12 to December 10, 2024.

Arbitration

• The arbitration case Yasuke (formerly titled Backlash to diversity and inclusion) has been closed.
• An arbitration case titled Palestine-Israel articles 5 has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 14 December.

If you no longer want this newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time; see below. If you'd like to be notified of upcoming drives and blitzes, and other GOCE activities, the best method is to add our announcements box to your watchlist. Election news: The Guild's coordinators play an important role in the WikiProject, making sure nearly everything runs smoothly and on time. Editors in good standing (unblocked and without sanctions) are invited to nominate themselves or another editor to be a Guild coordinator (with their permission, of course) until 23:59 on 15 December (UTC). The voting phase begins at 00:01 on 16 December and runs until 23:59 on 31 December. Questions may be asked of candidates at any stage in the process. Elected coordinators will serve a six-month term from 1 January through 30 June. Drive: In our September Backlog Elimination Drive, 67 editors signed up, 39 completed at least one copy edit, and between them they edited 682,696 words comprising 507 articles. Barnstars awarded are here. Blitz: The October Copy Editing Blitz saw 16 editors sign-up, 15 of whom completed at least one copy edit. They edited 76,776 words comprising 35 articles. Barnstars awarded are here. Drive: In our November Backlog Elimination Drive, 432,320 words in 151 articles were copy edited. Of the 54 users who signed up, 33 copy edited at least one article. New pages patrol January 2025 Backlog drive

January 2025 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
On 1 January 2025, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin in hopes of addressing the growing backlog. Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points. Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive.
