Hi Ms. Rubin,
Jim1138 asked if I might be willing to advise a little bit on your edits to Sue Rubin. I've read your comment on his talk page, but am replying here so as to not send him unnecessary notifications. You are correct that your edits did include sources, but it also removed some sources without explanation (in some cases leaving the text the source supported in the article without the citation). The bigger issue is that your edit introduced the claim that "This technique is controversial because the facilitator applies resistance to the typer's arm or hand during the training process, causing some the claim that the messages are actually being generated by the facilitator. In Rubin's case, that argument has been moot since 1996. After five years of slowly fading physical support, she no longer required that backward pressure, or any touch at all" without an accompanying source. Wikipedia relies on reliable, independent, and verifiable sources to support all information in articles. Do you have some sources meeting those criteria that could be added? Peer-reviewed medical journals, documentaries, newspaper articles, and the like tend to be good sources, though I will point out that there is an even higher standard for content about biomedical topics. You offered on Jim's talk page to put him in contact with some professionals who can verify that Sue communicates unassisted; unfortunately this is not sufficient unless they have actually published this in a source that can be verified by other editors.
I will also add that we generally discourage people from contributing directly to articles with which they have a conflict of interest. It is not strictly prohibited, but because of the difficulties most people face in writing neutrally about their family members, employers, and other subjects close to them, we do encourage people to contribute by suggesting changes on the article talk pages that can be added by other editors who are not connected to the subject.
