Welcome!

Hello, Rajaraam m, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as ELAMBALUR, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on RAJARAM.M, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. E. Fokker (talk) 19:05, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, instead of writing it yourself, as you did at RAJARAM.M. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. E. Fokker (talk) 19:08, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from RAJARAM.M, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. E. Fokker (talk) 20:17, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I gather that you're new to wikipedia. You keep adding links to Wikipedia in the See Also and/or External Links section using full http... links. The correct way to link to Wikipedia pages is to use double square brackets. So, if you wanted to link to the Wikipage on India, you would write [[India]], which will the look like this: India. We don't put those at the end, but put them throughout the middle of the text. I'm going to fix the ones on Elambalur you added now. As a side note, if you have any questions about editing, feel free to ask me here or on the article's talk page. Qwyrxian (talk) 21:45, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing: please do not remove maintenance tags, like the unreferenced tag on Elambalur, without fixing the problem. That article contains no references to reliable sources; it should, because all articles should, but until it has some, that tag must remain on the article. Thanks. Elambalur references

[edit]

Hi! I've been helping out with the Elambalur article. Can you do me a favor? Please take a look at WP:CTIE, as well as my examples of citations in the article, and fix the references you added for all of the educational institutions? I don't mind helping, but this is not my area of focus and it's quite time consuming for me to go in each day and reformat references that you add. I changed a few; if you basically copy my format the same way for each of the weblinks, it will be correct. The advantage of doing references that way is that they all appear with details in the Reflist below, rather than just being bare links in the text. If you have any questions, please ask. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:34, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I have a concern. I see that you are the person adding the info about M Rajaram in the article. I further see that your username is strikingly close to that. If you are, in fact, the same M. Rajaram, you need to do a few things. First, please read WP:COI. This is our policy about editing with a conflict of interest. Second, as you'll see in the policy, it is generally strongly suggested that people not edit things they have a conflict of interest with. It should be okay for you to edit the Elambalur article, but you should definitely not be adding information about yourself or someone you are related to. Furthermore, you need to be extra certain that all of your edits fully comply with our policies requiring that information be verifiable and neutral. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:40, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thank you Mr. Qwyrxian You are exactly right that I wrote some information about myself.I wrote the truth only, but i think, i didn't follow the rule or guidelines. Now only i am getting some knowledge about the guidelines. now i have decided that, the info.about myself is not important, but all the other informations regarding Elambalur is most important.so i request you to help to improve the article of Elambalur(without my own informations)for getting approval by the Administrators. furthermore, i will not include or delete anymore in the Elambalur article without knowing about the rules and guidelines properly.I know you took much pain to shape the article of Elambalur in fine manner. I will be very great full to you for ever. sorry Mr.Qwyrxian for the inconvenience occured by me. Finally i want to tell you one thing, All the informations given in the Elambalur article is nothing but Truth and it can be verified at any level.Thanking you.we will be good Friends always.(Talk )MRR 21:10, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Bramma Rishi Hill.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 12:21, 11 November 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:21, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{GFDL-self}}I created the file by my own

Wikipedia syntax is confusing, isn't it! You need to edit the file description page one more time, and delete the two letters "Tl" and the vertical bar character that follows them. That is, where it currently says {{Tl|GFDL-self}}, it needs to say, {{GFDL-self}}. -- John of Reading (talk) 13:13, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've made the edit on your behalf. -- John of Reading (talk) 13:34, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
