- Pw pw pw ta 3exasa re mik2... ta 3exasa teleiws :) sorry! dika soy! kanta oti 8es! :) sorry, again!
Sorry for using greek. It's because I post this to ask Project2501a something about the greek wikipedia, where he is also a user. Since he seems inactive there and active in the english one, I thouth I had to ask him here if I wanted to get an answer. --Mik2 21:14, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Copyrights in Greece
[edit]The article stub is all well and good, but it doesn't answer the question: can we use Greek military logos for these articles? Does Greece have an equivalent to the US public domain military where you can use non-classified images taken by military photographers in the course of their official duties? If so, we should create a {{pd-military-greece}} tag for them. --Jpbrenna 21:04, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hi there,
I disagree that magic tricks aren't covered by copyright and I agree with the anon. They are creative works by a single person and should not be reproduced without their permission. Whether it's the trick or the written instructions that are copyrighted is unimportant. - Mgm|(talk) 11:05, Jun 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Well, ellusionist.com obviously isn't breaking copyright laws. Corey himself agreed to sell the effect through them. Do you think, we shouldn't protect the secret of recently created commercial magic effects anyway, regardless of whether it's really copyright protected or not? To me it seems unfair, to make a product freely available when people should actually pay for the secret. Not to mention the fact that whoever posted it broke the magician's oath. - Mgm|(talk) 14:21, Jun 13, 2005 (UTC)

Vergina's comment
[edit]I think, I'll have to correct you. I perfectly know that removing comments is bad taste, but: 1. There is a comment section, specially designed for that 2. Vergina's comment is disrupting the numbering script of the "Macedonians" vote 3. I haven't removed it, I have just replaced it in the lower part of the talk page.:) Also, Vergina's comment is out of context. I do believe that you actually haven't seen the contents of the talk page - there is a poll whether the article should be named "Macedonians" or "Macedonian Slavs" (actually, it is more like proving whether Greeks or Macedonians are more numerous on Wikipedia). Considering that you are Greek, or somehow related to Greece, please vote on the "Slavs" side, and deprive me from my nationality. Actually, I prefer to be called a Macedonian Ape, instead. Best regards. --FlavrSavr 07:43, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hand on the Torch
[edit]The reason I removed the Hip hop and Jazz album categories from Hand on the Torch was that I filed Category:Us3 albums there, so there's no reason for an album in that category to be filed separately in the same categories. There's actually a fairly clear Wikipedia policy about not filing articles simultaneously in categories and subcategories of the same category. Bearcat 23:02, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Wolf cry :D
[edit]Yup, you're right, I did wolf-cried a bit, but that was due to the fact that I agree with the same things that you mentioned - I still hardly consider the poll relevant - it only provides a frame to make a point. Considering the fact that international organizations do recognize people X as Macedonians, the fact that I was the one to gave an acceptable compromising proposal Macedonians (nationality), and the fact that I am a member of people X, is hard not to become a pathetical wolf. :D Peace. --FlavrSavr 23:16, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Logical fallacy - the discussion is about the people X, not the state of the people X. Wolf wins! Peace :) --FlavrSavr 23:39, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I can provide exact numbers if you like. I am a professional demographer and noticed that several of the ethnic, ancestry, and racial statements were not accurate. New Jersey is NOT the most Italian-American state in the nation. It is third, after Rhode Island and Connecticut. Additonally, New Jersey does NOT have anywhere near the highest percentage of non-whites or African Americans of any state. NJ is 66% non-Hispanic white (14% black, 13% Hispanic, 6% Asian). States that have a greater percentage of minorities (with approximate percentages) include: New York (16% black, 15% Hispanic, 6% Asian) Maryland (28% black) DC (60% black, 7% Hispanic) Georgia (29% black, 5% Hispanic) Florida (16% Hispanic, 14% black) Mississippi (36% black) Louisiana (32% black) Texas (32% Hispanic, 12% black) New Mexico (42% Hispanic, 10% Indian) Arizona (25% Mexican, 5% Indian) Nevada (19% Hispanic, 7% black) California (32% Hispanic, 12% Asian, 7% black) Hawaii (58% Asian, 23% multi-racial, 19% Pacific, 7% Hispanic)

Since Greece isn't a federation of states like the USA or Germany, I don't think this term is an appropriate translation. I don't even know what the proper Greek is: I've tried Goggling δρόμος δημόσιος & όδος δημόσια, but neither turned up anything official. Googling in English seems to turn up "National Road." I need to know: what is the official term in Greek, the official English translation (if any), and then I will need your support when I nominate this and the other Greek highway articles for pagemove. --Jpbrenna 23:14, 18 July 2005 (UTC)
