Some remarks
[edit]Hi Noémie,
I see that your draft article has fallen into the "AfC"-circus. I don't quiet understand why you nominated it for the review process in this early stage. As you have seen, it did not pass the tests. I'm sorry about that. But I did also see that you have continued editing on the draft. Great. And personally, I think that it is becoming quite a good article by now. For your own convenience, you could perhaps make a copy of the text and put it back in your sandbox (and delete the redirect to the Draft namespace). Ask Romaine for help , on Monday, if you don't manage.
I would like to make a couple of remarks concerning your draft.
- Perhaps you can use the Template:Infobox book in your article. See for instance the draft of Nabilah's article or Life of Sir William Petty 1623 - 1687. It does automatically turn the title of your lemma in italics.
- Perhaps it is useful to start with a small paragraph with bibliographic information. In this section you can also make references to online editions (perhaps in a footnote), like the one you have already mentioned, an especially to IA: this link, for instance. You could perhaps also incorporate some text from the paragraph "Publisher" in it. And were there any later editions of the book?
- You should make more "wikilinks" in your draft to other Wikipedia-articles, like missionary, Jesuit China missions, humanities, sciences, etc. etc.
- Don't use external links in your text, like "illustrations", to the ricci-site. Use a footnote instead.
- see also: fr:China illustrata, the article about China Illustrata on the french Wikipedia (and other language Wikipedias).
- make a link to commons:Category:China Illustrata; you can use Template:Commons category for that.
I hope these comments are of any use to you. Goodbye, and good luck! --Dick Bos (talk) 15:22, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
