Jack Burke, who fought in the longest gloved ring battle on record, died at Mublenberg Hospital in April 1942. He was about 67. Burke went 110 rounds with Andy Bowen in New Orleans on April 6, 1893, in a bout which lasted seven hours and 19 minutes. The marathon fight was called "no contest" when neither man could continue.
