A welcome from Sango123

[edit]

Hello, Jitterro, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

Userboxen

[edit]

Behold my magnificent userboxen!

Vocal Ranges
This user has a soprano vocal range.
This user has a mezzo-soprano vocal range.
This user has an alto vocal range.
This user has a tenor vocal range.
This user has a baritenor vocal range.
This user has a baritone vocal range.
This user has a bass-baritone vocal range.
This user has a bass vocal range.

Now if I could just figure out how to shorten the codes on these...--Jitterro 00:58, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My, what lovely userboxen you have! ;) I've started a subpage for you at User:Jitterro/Userboxes and added that to Category:User pages displaying original userboxes and corresponding code so other users can find your creations. I'm in a hurry now, so enjoy, and feel free to contact me if you need anything! Cheers, Sango123 01:22, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: New userboxen I've made:

NoDthDeath metal is the only musical genre this user dislikes.

Hope the Lemon Demon image remains... --Jitterro 04:40, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. :) Feel free to do all the things you mentioned in your message. Just one thing though— LemonDemonLogo.gif is a copyrighted fair use image, and Wikipedia:Fair use criteria states, "Fair use images should be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are often enough not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages." Perhaps you could consider another image for the first userbox. Thanks, Sango123 20:20, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: Yet another one:

This user really would have been better off picking some less depressing userbox (a word which here means "box designed to showcase some quality of a Wikipedian").

--Jitterro 07:41, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Simply create a page entitled User:Jitterro/Userboxes/NAME, replacing the red text with a relevant subpage name for the userbox. Next, paste the userbox code into that new page (refer to User:Jitterro/Userboxes/Soprano as an example) and press the "Save page" button. Then go to User:Jitterro/Userboxes and add onto the table I started for you or create a new table altogether based on the existing wiki syntax, and that should do it.
Image:CountOlaf.jpg is also a fair use image, sorry. I hope you can find another fitting (and free) image for your newest userbox. Regards, Sango123 16:03, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers. :) Sango123 23:11, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Baklava

[edit]

Thanks for your revert on Baklava. It's good to know that others are watching.... --Macrakis 23:42, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like you didn't propose this merge correctly because there's no place to discuss it? ZFC21 03:34, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. It might just be a problem with the template. The merge can be discussed on the article's page instead. --Jitterro 04:51, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well you might want to start some kind of a poll? ZFC21 09:31, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If I could get more people interested, sure. I just edited the template so that the Discuss link leads to Baghlava's talk page. --Jitterro 00:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:CountOlaf.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CountOlaf.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hello. I'm contacting you and other members of WikiProject Books in order to find if you are interested in collaborating to expand and improve The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence article to make it worthy of becoming a featured article candidate, in light of the fact that it is the first book the U.S. government ever went to court to censor before its publication. --Loremaster (talk) 22:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Survey

[edit]

Hi Jitterro!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:AnimalFarmFlag.GIF or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 12:03, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)
