Do you intend to complete splitting this article? Op47 (talk) 21:05, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Reply - Yes!--Jax 0677 (talk) 21:06, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- When? I note that you have carried on editing like this in December. I further note that when I and others have reverted you per WP:BRD you have reverted and demanded that your sub articles be taken to AfD. AfD is not the forum for determining this sort of thing. I did not revert your edits with the intention of doing nothing but to discuss the way forward since I have great reservations regarding your strategy and especially with the timescales that you are adopting. I agree that some articles it is a no brainer that a long list should be split by letter. I do not understand why when you start editing an article like this you cannot finish the article. I am sorry to say, but I find your current methods tendentious and disruptive. I would appreciate it if you would at least complete those articles that you tagged in November before starting to split any other articles. I would rather work with you rather than against you, but that is not possible with your current methods. Op47 (talk) 18:58, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- Reply - OK, to the extent that I can recall which articles I split, I will try to work on articles that I split in November, to the extent that the community desires splitting, if it is simple to split. On articles such as Arab Spring, the community wanted a split. I made a split on Arab Spring which has been reverted, so I left "split-apart" tags on the articles while giving up on splitting the rest. I will try to assume that from here on out that "no consensus" to split means that the article does not get divided at this time.--Jax 0677 (talk) 20:59, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- I am relieved to hear that. Regarding recalling which articles you have split, I think you may need to re-visit then following:

- Regarding "to the extent that the community desires splitting", if there is overhwhelming desire to split then yes the comminity probably desires a split. If there is no reply though then that may just mean people were not available to look at your proposal and when they come back are very shocked to find the article cut up. I would certainly try be tolerant of people in those situations.
- Personally, my intrest in this is because I have been monitoring the list of articles with split tags and trying to sort them out. My policy has been to leave a clear month between a tag being placed and doing anything (e.g. If a tag is placed in January, I wait until March to do something). Even then I get people who complain for one reason and another. Usually they quickly sort things out. If you did the same then I think people will start to see you as being more reasonable. Not only that, but I will be there to give a second opinion and do some of the splitting. I think it would also be useful not to be ">100Mb police" about it. There are some articles that nomatter what will be >100Mb. As was pointed out, it is advice not a mandate. If you look on my talk page you will find some advice that SilkTork gave me. In particular, any split off article should be independently notable.
- You may notice that I split off List of Asilidae species. I am not saying it is perfect, but there are a few points that you may want to look at:
- The edit summaries clearly say split. I am very surprised that patrollers don't try to speedy delete you more often.
- The scheme considered the topic at hand. For a long itemised list like this then I think it is worth splitting by individual letter. In this case, the original auther started like that. If its the name with small amount of text such as tv character lists then maybe plitting by chunck would be a better idea.
- Each page has a pointer back to the parent article and a list of the other articles in the set. With hindsight, I should have created a template rather than cut and paste. You live and learn
- Also, I did not mention it on AfD because it may sound snide, but when you did this article originaly, you lost all of the entries begining with L. You would be well advised to check that the other articles in the list are complete before putting them to bed.
- re "if it is simple to split" if an article is not simple then would you put it back and then maybe I wil have a look? Sometimes a split is not the answer. There are other people who would help as well.
- I hope this all helps. Op47 (talk) 23:40, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

- Reply - Per this article, "Appropriate redirects from the subject's name and entries in disambiguation pages should be created to help readers find such information." Additionally, redirects are cheap. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:35, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Requests for improvement
- Template:Cavalera Conspiracy: Tours are not equal to individual festivals, so the list is misleading.
- Template:Uproar Festival: according to the template outdated and inaccurate
- Template:Against All Will: underlying articles The Drug I Need and All About You (Against All Will song) have notability and sourcing problems. Cello Dias has sourcing problems, Steve "Boomstick" Wilson is a oneliner that fails to make clear that he is notable (as notability is not inherited from other bands) and A Rhyme & Reason has notability and sourcing problems. So all links have problems. When challenged (and deleted) the template will fall below the threshold.
Sorry to be so harsh, but quality prevails. The Banner talk 13:37, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
Reply - I have taken the following actions
- Removed entire tours section from "Template:Cavalera Conspiracy"
- "Template:Uproar Festival" was up to date at the time that I created it. If I am responsible for keeping the navbox up to date for an indefinite period of time, please show me where it says that this is the case, as I do not believe that I am responsible for this task.
- Because others have edited the articles within "Template:Against All Will", I have placed "merge to" tags on Wilson, TDIN, AAY and AR&R to assist in reaching consensus . I did not write Cello Dias. --Jax 0677 (talk) 15:09, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- Officially there is indeed no need to maintain a page/template/category you have created. But often the original author is supposed to give some extra care to his own creations. On the other hand, it is good to know that you don't care about your older creations. The Banner talk 22:49, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Reply - "There is a very simple solution to all that: Change it! All you have to do is to click "edit", make the necessary changes, and save the changes, writing in the edit summary that you are updating the information. If you do not wish to make the effort to do that yourself but you know it needs to be done, you can also place {{update}} on the top of the page of section. To consider a page for deletion on the basis that it is not up to date is to demolish the house while it is being built." --Jax 0677 (talk) 01:36, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

I recently saw that you have been splitting off sections of this article into their own individual articles. Do you think that you could help split off the men's and women's ice hockey section as well? I think that and the remaining major FBS conference sections (e.g. ACC, Pac-12) are noteworthy enough to deserve their own articles. There are also a few other lengthy sections (e.g. WCC, Patriot, Big Sky) that could be considered as well. Finally, I feel that DII and DIII should be lumped together in an article and split, as well as softball and wrestling (maybe in a "minor sports" article). Oneforfortytwo (talk) 04:22, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
Reply - I think that splitting off the largest sections first where possible is the best approach in this case, as these are most likely to be notable. We can discuss on the talk page. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:03, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Albums and stubs
Hallo, yesterday I stub-sorted all the Aria albums you'd labelled as stubs, irritated each time by having to move {{stub}} away from the wrong place you'd put it (it goes right at the end, per WP:ORDER). I wondered whether they were really stubs, but decided that as they had no critical or "reception" content I'd leave it. Definition from WP:STUB: "A stub is an article containing only one or a few sentences of text that, although providing some useful information, is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, and that is capable of expansion."
Today I notice you've labelled a group of Joan Armatrading albums as stubs. The first one I look at, Joan Armatrading (album), is not a stub. It has a lot of content, including a "reception" section. The second one ... Me Myself I, OK, just about a stub. But please put the stub tag in the right place, and don't tag articles as stubs if they aren't. Thanks. PamD 08:25, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- And Walk Under Ladders already had {{1980s-pop-album-stub}}: adding {{stub}} was totally inappropriate as it just wastes the time of stub-sorters. I can see it's easy to just paste a chunk of usually-right stuff into a batch of articles, but please take more care. Thanks. PamD 08:29, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Reply - Sorry about that Pam. I will try to take more care in the future. --Jax 0677 (talk) 10:44, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

Smokey's Haunt
I see that you created the Smokey's Haunt article as a redirect to the Urthboy#Albums section last November. Since there's actually a section for Urthboy#Smokey's Haunt (2012) and that is more relevant, I've amended the redirect to point there. I was wondering whether either of you might be intending to turn Smokey's Haunt into a full-blown article, as you'd marked it as "temp" in the edit summary. - And this one? What criteria are you using to determine whether an editor is a new user prior to tagging user pages? --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 23:34, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Reply - Sadly, if the talk was short, I tagged them as new. Perhaps I should only START talk pages with tianu and wtw. --Jax 0677 (talk) 23:37, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
- Having a short talk page is not necessarily related to how long someone has been around. I would suggest not tagging any pages at all until you can come up with a reliable method for checking how long an editor has been around and how many edits they have made. Even then adding a template as a header on another editor's userpage seems....ill advised. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 01:22, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hmmm, another problem with accuracy and policies, Jax? Are you trying to get a second topic ban? The Banner talk 03:17, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- Reply - Banner, don't you think coming down on me like a ton of bricks every time I make a mistake is getting just a little out of hand? My proposal now is to check for edit histories less than one month before posting Template:wtw on someone's talk page. Thank you Ponyo for bringing this to my attention! --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:23, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Help
Dear Jax 0677, thank you for the post. Exactly true, I am already struggeling. I created my first article about a company. I checked the pages [D. Medical Industries] [Motorex] and [Synthes]. I wrote the article in a similar manner, now another user:INeverCry deleted it. It was just written that the article violetes (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion).and nothing else. Is now the whole work gone? What can I do? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MichelleLily14 (talk • contribs) 06:48, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Reply - Don't forget to sign your posts. Also, you can ask the closing administrator to place the article in your user space where you can work on it until it is ready to go to main space. You may wish to read WP:IDEALSTUB to get an idea of the minimum that an article should contain before going to main space. I hope this helps. --Jax 0677 (talk) 15:10, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Help 2nd - Sorry I was so upset because of the article. Many thanks, for the help. I have my article back in my sandbox. Where can I post it that other useres check it if it is ok now? --MichelleLily14 (talk) 07:04, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Reply - I'll quote what another user told me months ago in archive 1 of my talk page:
WP:Your first article is a good guide worth studying, and so is the WP:FAQ/Organizations.
After adding sources, I suggest you ask for comments at WP:Requests for feedback before moving the article back into the main encyclopedia. --Jax 0677 (talk) 13:34, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
List of Train Songs: Removed Article Size template
Hi, Jax 0677: I am writing to inform you that I have removed the Article Size template from the List of train songs article. I've posted an explanation of the grounds for removal on the article's Talk page. I would appreciate your feedback, including any objections you may have. Thanks.
