Orphaned fair use image (Image:Scone Advocate front page - 22 December 2005.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Scone Advocate front page - 22 December 2005.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WPRL Article Improvement Drive
Hey I've noticed you're a regular on rugby league articles, particulary NRL ones. I need your advice on something I'm thinking of starting up on the project. Many WikiProjects have Article Improvement Drives which have different levels of success. I'm thinking of starting one up for this one too, but instead of voting on an article I would rather strive to improve one NRL club every fortnight and bring it up very close to featured status. Now it seems as though there'd be a lot of work involved, but there are also a lot of club fans out there who'd probably be willing to participate. Basically there are 30 weeks in the NRL season and there are 15 club pages that are not yet featured. I propose that we all have a schedule to work on one new article every second round, in alphabetical order. By the end of the season hopefully we will have 15 near-complete, if not complete articles. My only concern at this stage is the dedication of editors to help out other team pages that they are not interested in. Basically in order to get the support of editors like these, we need a few leaders in the project. If you are willing to dedicate a bit of your time every week into this and if you have any further suggestions, could you let me know at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Rugby league/Article improvement drive? Thanks, --15:09, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Ianblair23,
I noticed you created the category Category:Vanuatuan sportspeople
"Vanuatuan" is not a correct descrption of someone or something from Vanuatu.
ni-Vanuatu is the correct description.
Can we get this category changed?

Swimming
Dear Ianblair23,
I am trying to start a WaterSports Wikiproject. I got this idea when I noticed that the Phelps page did not have a picture, even when it was a featured article on the main page, and when he broke the world record. Swimming/WaterSports needs a hub of workers to help with swimming related articles. The project would include long and short course, along with water ballet, syncro, diving, water polo, open water and the players of those sports. It's all up for discussion. If you are interested in helping out, please add your name to this list and add any comments you might have. See you around the pool, --wpktsfs 04:02, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- Do feel free to help maintain Portal:Swimming. thanks for all your work Ian, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 03:51, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
How do I go about actually creating the Project? Any help? --wpktsfs 22:05, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Great News! WikiProject Swimming is now up and running. Your name has been added to the members list, since you noted your interest on the discussion page! If you have any questions, please contact me on my talk page, or the project talk page. For starters, my first goal is to get {{WikiProject Swimming}} on as many swimming related talk pages as possible. Please help get this new project off to a great start! Regards, wpktsfs 22:53, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Dear Ianblair23,
Thank you for being a member of WikiProject Swimming. For all of you that have helped in our first week, thank you so much. This has been a very hard week for us in the States, with the Virginia Tech event. This project has been a way for me to remove my mind from the terrible event. Thank you for helping out, and improving the project. Please keep the motivation going in the next few weeks, and try to recruit as many swimmers, divers, water dancers and polo players as you can. Be proud of your sport!
See you around the pool,

Fair use rationale for Image:Cheez TV Logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Cheez TV Logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 16:46, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Cheez TV Logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Cheez TV Logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:46, 16 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 16:46, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Date formatting
Thanks for pointing out the issue with date formatting. But I just wanna check something. The manual of style is clear that "24 March, 1979" is to be used instead of "the 24th of March, 1979". But it's not clear on how they should be linked. I find the commonplace linking of dates, regardless of year (for example 24 March) pretty pointless actually. I think the reason we create links to poeple's dates of birth is that if someone clicks it they can see the context within which a person was born, i.e. was it the same time Germany was invading France in WWII, was it the same time we landed on the moon, etc. So it's far more meaningful to link like this: 24 March, 1979 right? The appearance is still in line with the Manual of Style.--Jeff79 23:25, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Albert Agyeman
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Albert Agyeman, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi Ianblair23. You are off to such a great start on the article Robert Raymond that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. Euro birth and death date templates
Thanks for taking the time to write such a thorough history of these templates. -- Patleahy 22:06, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- No worries. Yesterday was actually the first time I had ever come across the templates. It may not have come across in my nomination of the templates for deletion, but I fully support the purpose of what the templates were trying to achieve (being Australian myself and having a strong dislike for the mm/dd/yyyy date format). I also support the purpose of the templates for the reason that they were aimed at non-logged users, our readers, the wider population for who we writing this encyclopaedia for. Sometimes editors need to be reminded what our goal is here.
- In reviewing the history of the templates and noticing that the parameter had been added to the original templates, I felt that the templates needed to go, as did you back in May. The fact that you ran into opposition of their deletion beggars belief. So when writing the nomination I thought a full explanation of the story behind the templates would help in finalising what you trying to achieve. Cheers -- Ianblair23 (talk) 23:01, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Template:S-record, by KuatofKDY (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Template:S-record fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Template:S-record, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Anthony Mundine
May I ask why you removed Mundine's table of rugby league statistics from the Anthony Mundine article? It was sourced using reliable sources, and it was not being harmful or violating any policy or guideline by being in there. –sebi 03:01, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Note, a table should be used instead of an infobox, which is what you replaced the existing table with, as the infobox is meant to be used at the start of the article only. –sebi 03:03, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- I replaced the table with an infobox that gives the number of games and total number of points which he scored in his rugby league career and backed these with the references you gave plus I added my own. The infobox is standard right across all articles on rugby league players, whilst there is no "standard" table to present further stats. This is something that needs to be discussed at WikiProject Rugby league. Also, because Mundine has now become a boxer, his boxing infobox goes above his rugby league infobox which is currently neatly sitting in the rugby league section. May I point out that the only reason I came to article was because of the notice you left on WP:AWNB. I noticed that you did a really good job in starting to clean up the article but it still has a long way to go. It is now on my watchlist and I'm be happy to work with you in getting this up to a better standard. Happy editing!! -- Ianblair23 (talk) 03:26, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Today Tonight
A tag has been placed on Today Tonight, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g1.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}

Sorry!
This should have been a vandalism roll-back not a csd notification. Another editor has spotted my mistake and reverted the vandalism. Best wishes. B1atv 07:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:The Kings School Logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:The Kings School Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:14, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
