Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Hell With Arun, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

There is a page about the verifiability policy that explains the policy in greater detail, and another that offers tips on the proper ways of citing sources. If you are stuck and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  triwbe (talk) 10:10, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for not responding about the TZXMaster situation. I was not online at the time, but I am glad to see that someone took care of it. Academic Challenger (talk) 20:16, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have to leave you approximately the same message as above. I'm not entirely sure why I was selected by that individual, but if User:Academic Challenger was also messaged, I have to think it was something to do with the fact that we're close to the top on an alphabetical list of administrators. Thanks for your efforts in getting this sockpuppet dealt with. If there's anything further that needs my attention with respect to this, I'm at your service, although rather busy right at the moment so not frequently online. A tag has been placed on Beverly Mullins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Hell With Arun! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 16 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Prithvi (actor) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 17:21, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Fahad Mustafa. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Fahad Mustafa has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Enfcer (talk) 04:24, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mera Naseeb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. mauchoeagle (c) 23:02, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Mera Naseeb

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Mera Naseeb, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion notice, which will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 23:08, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mera Naseeb has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no third pary content, failss WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Active Banana (bananaphone 05:18, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rahma Ali has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

no reliable third party sources provided or found, fails WP:N

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of awards and nominations received by Sridevi. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Sridevi#Awards and honours. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Sridevi#Awards and honours - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 07:25, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Madhuri Dixit filmography, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Madhuri Dixit. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. VWBot (talk) 22:58, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hell With Arun Awards

[edit]

Hi Arun, while looking through your edit history, I happened upon User:Hell With Arun/Hell With Arun Awards in your Userspace. Based on the page's edit history, it appears to be an ongoing project, and it is presented in the style of a Wikipedia article. Frankly, I don't think the page belongs at Wikipedia, per WP:NOTWEBHOST. My recommendation is that you upload a copy of the article elsewhere, as I will be nominating it for deletion in a little bit. Since you are active in other editing, I wouldn't nominate the article for speedy deletion (criteria U5), rather I would go through the Miscellany for Deletion process. Anyhow, it's nothing personal, it's just not appropriate for Wikipedia. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:27, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Hell With Arun/Hell With Arun Awards, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Hell With Arun/Hell With Arun Awards and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Hell With Arun/Hell With Arun Awards during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:51, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Naamcheen, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.downburg.com/movie/482240-naamcheen.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. I haven't even visited that website. --Hell With Arun (talk) 15:45, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The real question isn't whether you went to the website that the software bot linked above, the question is where you got the prose plot content that you added in this version of the article. I see the same content in this 2006 forum post, which suggests very strongly to me that you didn't write the content yourself, you copied it from somewhere. What makes you think that it's okay to copy content and paste it at Wikipedia? And while we're looking through your edits, where did you get the prose content you added here? It looks identical to content found here. Please note that I do expect a satisfactory answer on this point, since copyright violations are taken seriously. If you don't respond with a compelling answer, I will have to interrupt your editing privileges. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:36, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
HWA, I'm still waiting for a compelling answer to why you inserted copyrighted material into a Wikipedia article. I'll give you another chance to respond. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:00, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen both of these films. This might be a mere coincidence that the plots of these movies which I edited on Wikipedia and which are written on other websites are completely different. --Hell With Arun (talk) 06:34, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't reorder cast without providing a valid reason

[edit]

Please don't reorder cast as you did here at Hate Story 3 without providing a valid reason. Per Template:Infobox film instructions, cast should be ordered per the film poster's billing block. If that's not available, the official credits in the film can be cited. If that's not helpful, an official source, like the film's production company might suffice. Believe it or not, childish people edit war over having their favorite actor appear first in a cast list. Since we wish to discourage that, the community has established guidelines for this sort of thing. See MOS:FILM. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:00, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted, as you did at Naamcheen. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:38, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I asked you to provide a compelling answer for why content you submitted at Naamcheen can be found elsewhere on the net. You didn't provide a compelling answer and I find it impossible to believe that you wrote these summaries from scratch. You clearly copied them from somewhere. In this edit at Namcheen (which, unfortunately I've had to suppress, but other admins can see) the content you submitted was virtually verbatim to this 2006 forum post, with minor cosmetic changes. Whether or not you lifted the content from this site or another is irrelevant, but the forum post tells me definitively, by a margin of ten years, that you did not write the content from scratch. For instance, in the Namcheen article it said:

"Rajan confides about to his friend Satiya (Satish Shah), who takes him to a local gangster, Rana (Gulshan Grover), who immediately hands over the money to him without any conditions."

And this 2006 forum post which reads:

"Rajan confides about to his friend, Satiya, who takes him to a local gangster, Rana, who immediately hands over the money to him without any conditions."

Your version contains the same grammar error "Rajan confides about to", and there are many similar sentences. What I think you need to do is 1) acknowledge what you did and demonstrate some understanding for why it is inappropriate, 2) provide assurance that it will not happen again, 3) tell me at what other articles you may have added plagiarized content and 4) remove the plagiarized content from articles that are not already flagged for copyright investigation. Hell With Arun, I strongly recommend you start explaining your edits by using edit summaries and responding to comments on your talk page. Editors who remain silent tend to look like they aren't interested in the "community" aspect of "community editing", and that they have their own editing agenda. In your case, we're noticing a very obvious pattern of you inserting Aditya Pancholi's name into articles, in many cases, without a clear reason to do so. This behavior tends to look like you are only here to promote this person at Wikipedia. Again, I encourage you to respond to explain. Note that per WP:V, "verifiability does not guarantee inclusion", so something being true doesn't legitimize promotional editing. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:27, 25 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox film - Starring parameter

[edit]

Re: this edit at Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and other recent edits of yours (like [2] here) the |starring= parameter is for names credited with "starring roles". Per Template:Infobox film:

Insert the names of the actors as they are listed in the billing block of the poster for the film's original theatrical release, with the exception that if there are names listed "above the title", these actors are the stars of the film. If unavailable, use the top-billed actors from the screen credits. Other additions by consensus."

"Starring" is not interchangeable with "appearing in". There might be two dozen people appearing in the film. We're only concerned with people credited as "starring". If you make additions or changes to this parameter, you need to please provide a rational explanation that is consistent with existing community consensus. Thank you. Unexplained and seemingly arbitrary reordering of cast

[edit]

Re: this, I have previously brought to your attention that it is disruptive to reorder cast without providing a valid explanation that is consistent with established film editing guidelines. If you are talking about Aditya Pancholi thing then let me tell you that I have just adjusted the cast order of his movies according to the official billing credits in the movies. He has been ranked at the top of the cast in movies like Yes Boss, Hameshaa, Ek Tha Raja and Surakshaa, no matter what role he played, so these casting credits are not based on favoritism. --Hell With Arun (talk) 16:59, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained cast reordering yet again.

[edit]

I'm debating whether or not to interrupt your editing privileges again, because you still keep reordering cast without providing an explanation that is consistent with community guidelines. In these changes, you reorder the cast in the starring parameter and bring them out of alignment with Template:Infobox film. Since you apparently are still unaware what the community guidelines are, and apparently clicking a link and reading is too much effort for you, I'm going to paste the information here:

"Insert the names of the actors as they are listed in the billing block of the poster for the film's original theatrical release.[1] If unavailable, use the top-billed actors from the screen credits. Other additions by consensus."

Looking at the film's poster, the ordering should be Akhtar, Kapoor, Rampal, Kohli, Desai, and Arora. I'll give you an opportunity to respond below, but I still reserve the right to interrupt your editing privileges if you don't provide some sort of coherent acknowledgment of community guidelines and an assurance to stop the disruptive editing. Alternatively, if you choose not to respond, the next time you reorder cast without providing an explanation that is consistent with community guidelines, I'll block you indefinitely until you respond with some sort of coherent acknowledgment of community guidelines.
