Claude Giroux
Hey! I see you’re working on getting Giroux to GA status. I’ve been working on a few Flyers articles myself (such as Joel Farabee) and would love to collaborate with you on this project. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 17:14, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
- @HickoryOughtShirt?4: Hey, thanks for hitting me up! I'm hoping to build up most articles on the current Flyers roster, and figured G was a good place to start. I'd be happy to collaborate on him and any others you might be working on! Kncny11 (talk) 18:50, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- Can't stand the orange but the players are growing on me. I've been avoiding some of the bigger players (like JVR) because so much information can become overwhelming. This is why I've stuck with people like Scott Laughton as well. However, in a team of two, it may work out better. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:11, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 1
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Between the Heart and the Synapse, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Boys Night Out and Anthony Green. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Megan Phelps-Roper
Hi, I reverted your c/e edits on Megan Phelps-Roper because I was concerned with some of the changes, specifically a change of her last name from "Roper" to "Roger". I did not realise that this was part of your work with the GOCE. Can we pause the copyedit until I take a closer look at your first set of edits later tonight? Thanks. Z1720 (talk) 16:49, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- Because of the speed at which I type, and because I do most of my copy-editing in a Notepad doc, I have a tendency to make minor typos while engaging in my overarching work, namely improving sentence flow and clarity. Those typos are then fixed in a final pass over the article. If this is not to your liking, I am happy to either pause or cease the work and let another member of the GOCE take it over. Kncny11 (talk) 17:05, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Kncny11 I see that I messed up the GOCE process. I am sorry if my reaction seemed negative. That was not my intention, but the fact that the interpretation didn't match my intention means I should have chosen better words. The Roper/Roger edit was not the only concern that I had, and I am willing to outline these concerns below. Is this something you would like me to do? I also know that Guild coordinators will sometimes look at GOCE work to double-check the quality. Is this something you would like me to ask them to do? Sorry again for the mix-up, and sorry for the delayed response. Z1720 (talk) 20:59, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- After discussion on the REQ talk page, User:Jonesey95 will be working on the article's copyedit. My CE style is often broad, focusing on improving sentence flow and clarity, and minimizing the repetition of certain words and phrases, which I understand is not everyone's primary aim when requesting a copyedit. I will make this clear in the future. Kncny11 (talk) 18:10, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Kncny11. I see that Jonesey95 has taken over the copyedit. I hope you continue editing Wikipedia and look forward to seeing your copyedit skills on other Wikipedia articles. Let me know if you need anything. Z1720 (talk) 18:17, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Women in Red
Hi there, Kncny11, and welcome to Women in Red. I'm really impressed by how active you've been for the past couple of weeks, creating eight new articles including two detailed biographies of women. If you haven't already done so, you might find it helpful to look through our Ten Simple Rules and our Primer for creating women's biographies. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 11:58, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the welcome! As an (admittedly burgeoning) academic, I enjoy any hobby that allows me to really get into the mire of research. I anticipate focusing most of my early efforts on the two and a half realms where I have a solid knowledge background: ice hockey and equestrianism, with a side of the Olympics. I will absolutely reach out if I need any assistance! Kncny11 (talk) 15:43, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- Good to hear you have clear intentions in these two popular areas. We intend to devote special attention to the Olympics and would really appreciate your support when the time comes. If you haven't already noticed, we have redlists on ice hockey and equestrians. Thanks for dropping a message on my talk page but an easy way to "ping" editors is to use the sequence
{{u|user name}}
or even[[user:user name]]
at the beginning or in the content of your messages. This sends an alert to the user in question.--Ipigott (talk) 16:13, 13 February 2021 (UTC) - Just noticed you liked adding names to redlists. How about adding somen to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red/Sports.--Ipigott (talk) 16:34, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

That was really great. So thank you, to both of you. JimKaatFan (talk) 17:28, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages
I see you recently accepted a pending change to April 24 that did not include a direct source.
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the edit notice on that page, the content guideline and/or the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide.
All new additions to the DOY pages without references are now being either reverted on-sight or in some cases where the patroller is especially motivated, immediately sourced. I've gone ahead and backed this edit out.
All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, it's not required but it sure would be helpful if you didn't accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.
Thank you, congratulations on your shot and please keep up your good work! Toddst1 (talk) 20:34, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
- Toddst1 Thank you for letting me know! I had checked the birth date against the WP article, but did not know that DOY pages now needed a direct source. Kncny11 (shoot) 01:17, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Changes addressed; thanks for the review! Let me know if anything more is needed! Sorry I haven't reviewed any of yours lately; I've been really busy, but I hope to again soon. And thanks for your work on Matt Moore! One of those guys that makes you wonder what might have been if it hadn't been for an injury. Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 03:32, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
- No worries, Sanfranciscogiants17! I've been fairly busy myself – I spent the past week filling out what feels like every grad school form ever, and fastpitch softball season starts in two weeks, which means I, as a catcher, need to remember how to squat uncomfortably for hours on end while wearing a full-body suit of armor. It feels like the getting in shape process is taking longer this year; I wonder, did something happen that I couldn't play last season? Agreed on Moore. It looked like he was making a comeback in Japan, but he hasn't exactly been doing wonders with the Phils. Spending time on the COVID list so early in the season probably didn't help him get re-acclimated. Kncny11 (shoot) 15:24, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
Team up?
First, what a game last night. That was pretty fun to watch. I don't know if this team is going to be good, but I'm pretty entertained regardless. Second, I wanted to see if you might want to team up on an article maybe from the last time they were good, maybe to make a run at FA. I've only done it once—with Jim Thome—and honestly, it wasn't a lot of fun, but I did it myself and that was probably a mistake as a first-timer. Working in a team is definitely a better approach. So I thought I'd see if you'd be interested in any of the following ... Jimmy Rollins (already at GA, I think could get to FA with a bit of expansion, cleaning up the prose, and fleshing out his legacy a but more), Chase Utley (would need to go to GA first ... article isn't in great shape, but at least there's not a lot to mess up), Roy Halladay (would need to go to GA first, but frankly given that he's deceased and in the HOF, that one is probably stable enough to go all the way to FA), or Ryan Howard (has a way's to go, currently at C). In the long-run, getting that whole core up to FA would be fun, but figured I'd see if you're interested at all and, if so, where to start. Hope all is well! Go Phightins! 12:10, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- Go Phightins! Sorry for the delay! I had to graduate, and then get into my dream grad school, and then fill out all the paperwork (not to mention get into softball shape – which, as a catcher, means remembering how to squat for hours on end while wearing all that padding). Anyway, I'm very interested! I actually have a Halladay draft started in my sandbox, and, even if it needs some work, I'm also a huge Utley fan (he's one of my mom's best friend's favorite players of all time). Kncny11 (shoot) 15:20, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
- Kncny11, Wow! Con-grad-ulations all the way around (sorry, worst pun I make every spring to new graduates)—that's awesome. Perhaps let's have a go with Halladay, then, and see what happens. My intuition is that the biggest thing to get it to GA is just focusing on rewriting much of the career bits in summary style and fleshing out the "non-career" bits a bit more. Perhaps we can see about getting it to be a GA candidate by sometime in July? Go Phightins! 16:18, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
William B. Jordan
Hello Kncny11. I hope everything is well at your end and that the side effects of the vaccine did not trouble you for too long. Since you completed William B. Jordan's good article review, I expanded it a bit to include more specific details as I had been preparing it for an FA nomination. I plan on submitting the article for a peer review soon. But before I do that, I wanted to drop by and ask if you can spot any general issues with the article. I suppose the peer review and FAN will address specific details that might need changing, but I wanted to fix anything that might be problematic overall before I go through those processes. I would value your input. — The Most Comfortable Chair 09:46, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Also, I just noticed — Well done, congratulations! — The Most Comfortable Chair 09:50, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hi The Most Comfortable Chair! I lost most of the past week to filling out M.S.Ed. forms, but I'm all set to start my program in July. This week at work should be a little slimmer, and I can definitely give the article a lookover in the coming days! Kncny11 (shoot) 15:21, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
- Congratulations to you and all the best with the program! I hope you hit a home run with that. — The Most Comfortable Chair 16:28, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

I've been traveling and have fallen a bit behind on keeping the prose up-to-date. I've added a bit of a skeleton/shell for what's happened in the last week, but I'll be on a plane and jet lagged the next few days, so I'm afraid I'll probably fall further behind ... if you have a moment to fill out what's there and/or add citations, that'd be great. If not, no worries. Go Phightins! 21:16, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- Go Phightins! Glad to hear from you and I hope you're de-jet lagging! I filled in a good deal of the prose, which probably needs to be smoothed over still, but that's a problem for the future. Most importantly, everything is cited. Kncny11 (shoot) 16:03, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey
Thank you for your post about Catholicism and gay marriage. I hope you weren't upset by my own views, expressed in the comment above. Personally, I'd be delighted if the church made further moves towards recognising gay unions,. I just don't think that the state should impose requirements like that on individual religions. I hope that a day will come when the Catholic church accepts that partnerships between same-sex couples are not problematic, and that you may one day be able to be able to get married in church rather than a registry office, if that's what you want to do. GhostRiver, I've asked the reviewer of this GA nomination whether they will be returning, and the answer is no. So we have both original nominator and reviewer who are no longer interested. Further, the nomination was out-of-process: nominators who have not made significant contributions to the article are supposed to consult with the major contributors on the talk page prior to nominating, which wasn't done, and doubtless explains why an article in such rough shape that you needed to do extensive edits was nominated in the first place. As you noted on the review, the nominator hasn't edited on Wikipedia in a long time, now nearly three months.
Given that you have done major work on the article, how would you like to proceed? I can put it back into the pool of unreviewed nominations without any loss of seniority; since it will be in the top five unreviewed nominations, it shouldn't take long to acquire a new reviewer. If you'd rather not continue the nomination, I can close it as unsuccessful. Please let me know. Thank you very much. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:58, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
- BlueMoonset Thank you for reaching out! I was actually a bit irked when the original nominator nominated the article, because I had been in the middle of preparing it for GAN myself. Considering the work that I have put in, I would prefer the article be placed back into the pool of unreviewed nominations. — GhostRiver 13:10, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
