Speedy deletion nomination of Angel Hilson
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Angel Hilson, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Can you be specific on why are you deleting this article? CultureConnoisseur (talk) 21:33, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Your article has been moved to draft space, where you can work on bringing it up to the required standard for inclusion before submitting it for review. Please do not move it to article space yourself. Please remember to declare any conflict of interest in accordance with the guidelines. Deb (talk) 20:45, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, CultureConnoisseur. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Angel Hilson, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:33, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- I used to be an intern at Rogue Music. She was one of their artist. It doesn't make the information any less true. Everything in her article is backed by reliable industry-respected resources. Please feel free to fact check all references. CultureConnoisseur (talk) 21:52, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Angel Hilson, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:38, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'm learning my way around. Can you please help me understand why the article I published is being marked for deletion? CultureConnoisseur (talk) 21:40, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- The tags on the article (which you removed) explain that the article lacks a credible claim of significance and that the article read like a promotional piece only meant to praise the subject. As an encyclopedia, we only convey what reliable sources independent of the subject have said about the subject. Having lived in Los Angeles for a few years, I'm familiar with how people in the industry think about their work but Wikipedia has specific rules and this subject fails WP:NAUTHOR, WP:MUSICBIO, and WP:ANYBIO. Again, you need to read what the templates say and then click on the links to read that material, too. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:46, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:Angel Hilson, you may be blocked from editing. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:14, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- I am trying to simplify and consolidate. Please let me know next steps to resolve this issue. CultureConnoisseur (talk) 22:27, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- The article is going to be deleted. I would wait until the subject meets notability criteria (gets a gold record, charts, or is nominated for a Grammy, etc.) and then try again in your sandbox. At that time you'll be able to submit that sandbox entry as a draft when it is ready and a uninvolved reviewer will look at it. Generally, most living people even in the entertainment world won't be notable until after they are dead. It is a high bar. You would be better served improving existing Wikipedia articles. You could join a WikiProject like Wikipedia:WikiProject Musicians which could point you to editing tasks and that would help you understand how all this works. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:34, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- She an author as well. With over 2 million readers. That should count for something. CultureConnoisseur (talk) 22:50, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

- It doesn't count. Subject fails WP:NAUTHOR, which I already mentioned above. Chris Troutman (talk) 23:05, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
