Junior B Teams

Hello, a user has decided that he does not want us placing hockey stubs on Wikipedia to expand later into teams. In particular he doesn't like Junior teams... National Hockey League and Portal:Ice hockey/Did you know

Notwithstanding my being miffed at your edit summary, which I think to have been a bit indecorous, I offer my apologies for having, by my edits, offended you; I meant only to suggest—correctly—that the NHL is headquartered in New York City, but otherwise refer to the league as a North American one. Well I tend to be a bit bombastrous in my edit summaries, I apologize if I upset you. If I'm miffed, I usually let fly in my first reaction in the edit summary, and then let cooler heads prevail on the talk page. Even though there are more teams in the US and the head office is in New York, I would suggest the league is every bit as Canadian as it is American, if not more so. I wasn't at all upset, and I apologize for having conveyed that impression; I was more nonplussed than anything else, having assumed you to be some kook but then having come here and found you to be a level-headed and cordial user. I'm not a huge fan of WP:NPA (where users fail to focus on disruption and, contra WP:IAR and the like, yawp unnecessarily), and I myself enjoy bombastic edit summaries, so I don't have a problem with your summary at all (oftentimes one makes incorrect inferences from minor interactions, and I suppose I've been guilty of that here). I understand your need to point out that there are Canadian teams in the NHL; after all, someone born in 1993 might, having looked at the Stanley Cup Finals winners since then, conclude that the league is exclusively American (setting aside, of course, that recent winners comprise more Canadian than American players) :-). You are correct, though, that the NHL is always referred to as a North American league—I make such references myself—and so you were wholly right here. Please do check on Portal:Ice hockey whenever you can; I do a lot of work there but frequently err (either typographically or substantively, typically where I write with unnecessary celerity), and so I, as one ought, welcome any feedback. Hey

It was something I created when we were being harrassed by the music teacher from england when he was trying to get rid of all hockey below the pro level on wikipedia. You can copy stats... and logos... but I think most articles need to be original. I'd be interested in building this page up, but I haven't been because of lack of interest and help. It's ignorant of you to remove chunks of an entry (IE, Personal Life) when you have no idea as to the contrary. The information supplied was on Roloson's roster page, but has since been removed. There is, however, a column on NHL.com which supports the original information provided (that which you stripped). The changes you made have already been reversed and the source listed. Ah, well you removed the stats disclaimer along with it. I think it should be put back in because his statistics are updated roughly twice a day (I don't even know how it's possible but people are always messing with them). The only reason there was an entry not to confuse the two, was that prior to that the article identified Craig as a member of the Olympic team. Mike and Craig have different spellings of their last name, but did play together in Buffalo for a few years. It was certainly confusing listenting to the play by play! Fighting in ice hockey

Hey there - thanks for your attention on this article and my "4th-grader sentence" :) I knew the list of historical fighters would be refined and fleshed out over time, but here is my issue: I started with a list that I have a source for, which is the Allen book cited at the end of the sentence. You changed the names, which I have no problem with, but those names are now unsourced. I anticipate that a lot of editors will swing by and be tempted to edit this list with their own favorite fighters, so I think it is important that the list of examples be well-sourced. DEFAULTSORT

I've noticed with some of the recent hockey player articles you've written that you may not know about a recent addition for categories. It's called DEFAULTSORT and it makes life a little easier for creations. Instead of having to add the person's name to each category, you can instead enter it in once and it will be done automatically for all the categories. Player articles

Yeah, I guess we had a mini-competition there to create articles. I tried to create an article for all players who played at least 250 games. I think between the two of us, we got most, if not all, of them. I'm now looking at players from the 20's and 30's who played 3-5 years, such as Joffre Desilets. I don't think there are too many of these types to create. I'd also like to get some of the PCHA and WCHL players with articles, if I can information on them. Patken4 18:53, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Just a reminder that the undisambiguated "Sudbury" is not an article about the Canadian city, but a disambiguation page. You can link to either Sudbury, Ontario or Greater Sudbury for the Canadian article, but just remember that Canadian cities aren't always at undisambiguated titles — it really depends on the individual situation. Hi there. Thanks for replying on my user page! I too was hoping for a Rangers/Colts final (or any Barrie final acutally,, heh heh). Also, thanks for bringing the Category:Barrie Colts alumni miscredit on my talk page to my attention. I'm not sure how that happened, but I think I actually had a different team's alumni category listed there, and then I changed it to be a link to something I wanted to be able to find easily (the Colts alumni). My user-page is mostly just a hodge-podge of links and examples that I use for references, and I haven't worried too much about formatting it. I've removed the overall titles (claiming that it's articles/categories I've started), and apologise for the error.

How's that Alfredsson-Sundin compasison now, eh? Go ahead and cheer for the Ducks, I don't mind. I know if the Leafs were in the final, I wouldn't be cheering for them. Actually, if the Sens win the cup this year, I dont think I will be as hostile about the Leafs, and I might even cheer for them in the future... if hell froze over and they actually made the finals ;-) On another note, I would like to thank you for your support in getting an article on the finals.
