LittleBigPlanet
Hello! Sorry, this took me ages to find - Template_talk:Infobox_CVG/Syntax_Guide#Syntax_guide: "Use the first public non-festival release in the game's country of origin, as well as any English-language release dates available." Hence, I have a habit of removing JP release dates from non-JP developed games (though likewise I remove, say, a DE release for a JP developed game). Hope that's ok! Thanks! PC LittleBigPlanet
Hi, I noticed you edit the LittleBigPlanet page a lot, so I've got a question... have you heard anything about a PC version of LittleBigPlanet coming out? Some guy added "PC" under the Platforms section on the main page, and then linked that to the talk page, where he included yet another link to some console blog where someone took a picture of a LittleBigPlanet PC box. No idea why, just wondering if you've ever heard this rumor or if you think it holds any water.
Cheers! WIKIPEEDIO 16:14, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Playstation 3
Well I changed the chrome trim section on the playstation 3 article in the playstation 3 comparisons table. also, how are you tracking my edits? —Preceding unsigned comment added by John-joe123 (talk • contribs) 16:41, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- I just looked at the edit history for the PlayStation 3 page by clicking on the tab at the top of the article. You can view a user's edit history by clicking on the Contributions link next to their name or by going to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/USER_NAME . You may want to have a look at the tutorial if your interested in finding out more about editing Wikipedia. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 19:31, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
The exclusive column doesn't belong. No other video game lists that I know of (except for Xbox 360, which I havent cleaned yet) have it. It's just unnecessary clutter, which just makes these game lists even larger. See: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#Should_video_game_lists_by_platform_include_the_exclusive_column.3F for a discussion I started on this. RobJ1981 (talk) 15:23, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Looking at your edit history, I assumed it wasn't malicious but I really think this should be discussed before it is removed. I will join your conversation on the project page. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 16:02, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

NEW I'll add to this rather than start a new thread. I take it your ID on the PS forums is the same as your PSN ID? Let me know. If so I'll send you a PM via that as using the PS controller to type a reply to your message from last night will probably make my thumbs drop off. I need one of these :-). - X201 (talk) 08:46, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

The SCE comment on the LBP page. I missed your mention of it in your edit, just to clarify, my comment wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at a certain IP user. - X201 (talk) 10:13, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. That IP seems to be pushing the assumption of good faith now! You never know with IP users whether they're being difficult or they genuinely don't know about talk pages and edit summaries. I've put a level two vandalism warning on his/her talk page anyway. Thanks for your help. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 10:27, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Uncharted 2
Redirecting is fine - it's generally not a good idea to start a future game article with only one semi-official source that basically says "they're working on it". The only argument against keeping the one with "(working title)" is that no one will likely search for it. "Uncharted 2", yes, that's a search term and as you have it, goes to the right place, but I don't see anyone pulling out "Uncharted 2 (working title)" for a search. But it's not critical if it is deleted or not, though once a title is known, I would suggested getting rid of it. --MASEM 16:15, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Re:AfD
You want to know the reason?. Here is why.
- . You comment regarding failing notability.
If you do a little bit of googling you will see how much source are there. Does it still fail notability guidelines?.
- . Adding AFD tag to the article.
AFD is meant only for deletion not for any purpose. Only in some serious case it used for merge.
- . Your comment regarding "A redirect to the original article should be used for now until it has received significant coverage to demonstrate its notability."
The game was just announced 1 day back are you hoping it will have loads of information on day one?. If this case half of the article should be deleted and be merged because new announcement.
It reminds me of this incident. Even thought i added IGN link in Dirt 2 page you said it fails verifiable information.
For all this reason your afd nomination is of bad faith. --SkyWalker (talk) 17:34, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- You have not given me a chance to speak. The min i removed the merge you have added the afd tag. The history page says it all. Did you discuss it before you sent it to deletion?. NO. Did you discuss the merge?. NO. If you could have spent little time visiting the link you would have have seen the interview. It does not matter if it is over or not. This is not the first time that is happening to me. Even though i added a reliable source you still claimed no verifiable source is added. Anyways best of luck i will stop creating article very soon. I have given up Wikipedia and will be leaving has time comes. --SkyWalker (talk) 07:11, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pshomelogo.svg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Pshomelogo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:15, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I just hate it when people remove good edits that were made after the bad edits they think they are reverting. I removed "free" because a big part of PlayStation Network is the PlayStation Store, which obviously charges money. Mike R (talk) 15:27, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

PS Home
Yes, I have a question about the page and an edit you undid of mine. I had put some picture links on the Playstation Home page and you took them off, and in your edit summary you put "inline links-big NO NO." I read the guidelines for links, and I did not see anything in there that said I couldn't put picture links, maybe I misread, can you clear me up here? JDC808 (talk) 1:55 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. In general, external links should only be provided if they can provide information that cannot be included in the article it's self for any reason. Wikipedia Manual of style (links) says that inline links can be used as a form of citation but otherwise should be included in the External links section in an article. Maybe it was a bit over the top to call it a "big NO NO" though - while the MOS doesn't make that big of a deal over it, it's more that it's considered very bad by most editors. Sorry about that.
- Aside from that though, I don't think the images are really necessary for a Wikipedia article anyway. Wikipedia isn't a game guide or fan site (see WP:NOT). Extensive image galleries should be left to sites like 1up and Eurogamer. If you happen to find a particularly good collection of images it might be worth putting that in the External links section. Although links to these sites are normally discouraged under WP:VG/EL, if it offers "substantial information that is relevant but not necessarily encyclopedic in nature" then the link may be included.
- Good work on the article though. Yours and Ffgamera's edits have vastly improved the article over the last few weeks. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 08:42, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, well, I just made a basis for everyone else. Rather than making giant edits, which make the article unrecognisable. I've read through some of the painstakingly long, but informative guidelines. Ffgamera (talk) 06:02, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for clearing up the inline link situation for me, and thank you about the good work part, I'm a little new to editing and stuff here on Wikipedia, sometimes my wording on some things in exactly the best, but you and Ffgamera have helped that out when needed in the article, I'll keep trying to do my best to find more information and such for the article, it's looking really good, Ffgamera did a good job making it and your contributions are a big help to so thank you for your help on the article as well. JDC808 (talk) 11:18 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. Sorry I haven't been making many additions to the article though. I mainly seem to be copy editing the stuff you and Ffgamera add, but that's to be expected as both you and Ffgamera are fairly new to Wikipedia. I don't normally like copy editing as I always think it can come across as a bit harsh. Glad you don't take any offence to it. Obviously none is intended. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 16:29, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- It's the same as what I'm doing at the moment. Just keeping an eye on it and nudging it from time to time as the WP guidelines and policies require. The bulk of what has been added is good, there are a few minor things that are trivia, and though they're not ruining the article at the moment they may get picked up on when it comes to GA's & FA's. But on the whole OK- X201 (talk) 09:33, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Exactly what I think. I don't think it's worth doing a lot of tidy-up work right now because with the volume of edits, anything that was removed/reworded/restructured would probably just end up back the way it was after a day or two. Once the edits have slowed down a bit I'll have a look at doing bigger edits to improve its compliance with G's and P's. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 09:48, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- That approach worked well on the GTA IV article and you can imagine the tidal wave of edits that that received. It was just a case of keeping the established structure intact, removing blatant falsehoods and just generally keeping an eye on things. - X201 (talk) 09:53, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello, regarding the new image you put up for the Central Plaza, that is the old Central Plaza. The new Central Plaza does not have a Home Arch and the Listen@Home feature is a screen rather than a post. That's the reason why I replaced the old image in the first place. Thanks, Ffgamera (talk) 01:00, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Oh right, sorry about that. The image that was there wasn't really high enough quality for the article. Maybe it would be better to leave it until an official screenshot is released. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 08:40, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

About the multiple wins/nominations section. I've taken this from every single film awards article I've read, such as this one, this and here and a lot of others. I won't list them all but if you count back through the Oscars you'll see almost all of them have it. I don't think it's reallyduplicate info, as it's not immediately available when looking at the table necessarily. Yes you can extrapolate but with the atricle on the 5th as there were only a couple of games which one more than one it takes a while to find out which they are. - Hi. I was basing those edits on the Duplicate categorization rule at WP:SUBCAT. As Category: PlayStation 3 Network games isn't a distinguished category from Category: PlayStation 3 games it should be in both. Do you not agree? ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 18:25, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Why isn't it distinguished? I must admit my eyes went a little screwy trying to understand the rule. Nevertheless, I think common sense should prevail as it is patently obvious that PlayStation 3 Network Games are Playstation 3 games... If you disagree perhaps you (or I) could raise the issue at WT:VG or WT:WikiProject PlayStation? –xeno (talk) 18:29, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Lol. Me too. It's not the clearest piece of guidance! I think my logic is as hard to explain as WP:SUBCAT is to read! Basically, my logic was that based on the example of African American baseball players (and I really wish they'd used a better one because I may put my foot in my mouth here) a person either is African American or they aren't. There's no crossover. Unlike PSN/PS3 where a game can be a PSN game and a PS3 game (Ratchet & Clank Quest for Booty, or GT5 Prologue for example). ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 18:37, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- I've reverted my reversions for now... I'm going to try and wrap my head around this and might start a discussion at one of those projects, I'll let you know if I do. P.S. Catan is not the same game as the Catan that will be coming out for PS3 (sourc'd!), you might want to start a new article if there's not one already. –xeno (talk) 18:40, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Ok. Thanks. Keep me posted. I won't add the cat to any more articles until this is cleared-up. One last thought: I think if there was a PlayStation 3 retail games category, then they would be distinguished. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 18:44, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Good point... No, you can go ahead and continue adding the cat if you like, otherwise things would be inconsistent. If things go the other way, I can have my bot remove them. I might just forget about this, per can't someone else do it? ;> –xeno (talk) 18:48, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- LOL! Fair enough! Consistentcy was the reason I started in the first place (some PSN games had it, some didn't). Wish I hadn't now! :) I don't know anything about bots... don't suppose yours could be told to go through List of downloadable PlayStation games and finish the job I started?! ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 18:49, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- We should probably sort out whether its a good, supported idea before setting a bot to work on it. Wanna launch the discussion? WT:VG is probably best as its non-partisan (and the decision would apply to XBLA games as well). –xeno (talk) 18:59, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Cats
I think its a good idea to get them sorted because the current mess across all formats has been bugging me for ages. I'll help with any editing/moving when it gets it sorted over what should be where, although after the hierarchy of the cats is sorted, I think we should put a proposal forward saying "We're going to move all games into/out of the PS3 games cat and put them/not put them in subcats. Does anyone object?". Then they will have had fair warning before the move around. - X201 (talk) 12:02, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Me too. The inconsistencies were annoying me so I thought I'd get started. And because (strangely) there have been a lot of IP users adding incorrect categories to articles recently. In particular, there have been a few different IPs adding the PlayStation 3-only games category to games which obviously aren't PS3-only. Everyday Shooter and Flow for example. If you could help me keep an eye out for these I'd appreciate it? Another thing that's been bugging me is Sixaxis and Dualshock 3 being used in the infobox instead of Gamepad and PSN and XBLA being listed as Platforms, but one thing at a time I think! I'm sure bots could be used to fix these things but I know nothing about them. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 12:11, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Bots can be used in two ways. They can generate a list of articles that don't have Gamepad in them which can then be used to manually check and correct them. Or you can get the articles auto-corrected by a bot, which can be a bit riskier if they come across formatting that can confuse them. - as they did with my one and only bot request which ended up with me doing manual corrections :-( - X201 (talk) 12:33, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- How do you test a bot? ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 13:08, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Check out WP:AWB, it's a semi-automated editing tool that can be turned into an automated bot with the proper approval. It would help with your cat work (it's what I would use). If you still want my bot to do the work, just let me know once you guys have it sorted out. FWIW, I don't think "PlayStation 3 Bluray games" is a good name for the category of "retail" games (I know "retail" is problematic as well. . .) –xeno (talk) 13:15, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Citing continuously updated websites
How would I go by citing a URL that is frequently updated? The current information on it is relevant, but if it's updated, it will no longer be present :S Ffgamera - My page! | Talk to me! | Contribs 09:37, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Flock!, cut and paste moves, and you!
Just FYI, I've moved Flock (video game) back to Flock!, since WP:MOSTM doesn't seem to say anything about exclamation points. See Destroy All Humans!, for example. Also, I noticed that when you performed this move you cut and pasted the article from one location to another. This should typically never be done as GFDL requires the article history go with the article if it moves. If you are unable to move a page because of a redirect with more than one revision blocking the way, you can use {{db-move}} to have an administrator help you perform the move (just for future reference). Feel free to raise the naming issue at Talk:Flock! and/or WP:RM if you still think it should be at Flock (video game). –xeno talk 14:31, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- By my read, exclamations are pronounced, as they modify the inflection of the word. But feel free to raise the issue at MOSTM. =) –xeno talk 19:35, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Bomberman Ultra
Er... nice way to bring out the threats. It's nice that you consider removing an obviously out of date tag "vandalism", but I think you'd be the only one sharing that opinion. I'll be removing it again, as there's obviously little interest in the articles being merged (or else there would be some actual discussion after three months). My reasoning is simple: anyone interested in expanding the article may be dissuaded by the potential merge (I know I'd be disappointed if I expanded an article only to have it merged a few days/weeks later). If you persist at reinstating the tag, please keep WP:3RR in mind. —Locke Cole • t • c 15:15, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- To be crystal clear, the lack of discussion means no consensus, not that you can just carry on with performing the merge. Especially when an editor (me) is removing the merge tag. In case it wasn't obvious, I disagree that they should be merged. —Locke Cole • t • c 15:16, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

1080p
You said that only "small" games support 1080p. Well I'm looking at the back of GTA IV (by no means a small game) and it says "Supported HD video output: 720p, 1080i, 1080p." I don't know much about these things but it looks like large games can support 1080p. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pickledawg (talk • contribs) 01:43, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it can be upscaled by the console to output in 1080p, but the game doesn't render it at that resolution. This is merely because some TVs don't support some resolutions so it has to output in all of them, but it's just a 720p signal that's essentially being stretched to fill a 1080p display. Hope that helps? (By the way, what discussion are you referring to? I remember discussing this ages ago but not recently?) ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 07:51, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Your signature
Hi! I corrected your signature markup on the Wikipedia:Requested moves page here. Apparently, the pipe character messes things up when you use it inside a template. I recommend putting the | characters between for cases like this. Jafeluv (talk) 23:49, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

inconsistent?
I think you'll find, at least for most XBLA games, that they are using the Xbox 360 (XBLA) construction. (six I clicked at random: Texas Hold 'em (video game) Pinball FX Shadow Assault: Tenchu Undertow (video game) TotemBall The Maw (video game)). I haven't seen PS3 (PSN) much though, but I think that they should fall in line too (imo). –xenotalk 21:37, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- I was looking at PSN games. Pretty much all of those have PS3 as the platform and Download as the media to distinguish them from retail games. It's just a matter of whether you consider the online service to be a "platform" or just the actual console. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 22:30, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- I see your point, but I personally prefer the Xbox 360 (XBLA) (notwithstanding Download as media). In any case, that's how almost all XBLA do it... not sure how to reconcile the inconsistency between X360 and PS3 tho! –xenotalk 22:32, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think it's a major issue. I just think that on multiplatform games, each platform should be listed in the same way, as it is now on AoB. It looked a bit odd having XBLA next to Xbox and not having PSN next to PS3. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 22:46, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- I agree when together and different it looks strange. –xenotalk 22:50, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

I can remember the original discussion where it was decided to use Download as a format. It was decided upon to avoid having long lists of release dates eg XBLA, PSN, Steam, Virtual Console, GameTap, iTunes, etc . grouping them all as Download and putting the first date was deemed as a good compromise. There were some infoboxes that were horrendous to look at and made the release date section hard to read. The addional services were supposed to be included in the prose. But that part of the plan seems to have been forgotten. - X201 (talk)
Hi!
I saw that you had reverted a number of edits on User talk:200.215.222.195. Whilst removing insults on a User's talk page is a good thing, restoring of warnings on a talk page should not be done, with a few exceptions. Have a read of WP:UP#OWN for more details. Thank you! Stephen! Coming... 12:09, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
I have a suggestion
Should I add the llist of PS3 games that supports custom soundtracks or not? The List of PlayStation 3 games is done, but it can't be done without the custom soundtrack feature. If it does'nt need to be added, then this could be confusing within other Wiki users if they are not sure if certain games has custom soundtrack feature. JMBZ-12 (talk) 15:32, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. Yeah I saw the discussion but I don't really know to be honest. I'm against it but I couldn't give you a specific reason why. I think my main concern is that the page is huge as it is and edits take ages because of loading times. But also, it's in danger of becoming a collection of trivial information. If we add custom sound tracks on top of exclusivity and trophies then people could argue that we add a 1080p support column and so on and all of this information it pretty trivial and is also available on the game article. I supported keeping trophy information a while ago because a lot of people considered it a major feature of a game but that's not the case now that all new games have them but if the discussion came up again I think I'd suggest removing that column. FIFA 10 cover
what's up ChimpanzeeUK, I just saw your work on FIFA 10 cover & how you edited it nice & precisely to make it platform neutral. My question is I have a lot of un-neutral video game covers but I don't know where to make them neutral to be ready for upload to Wikipedia. Do you know any websites or Wikipedia tools where I'm able to do that? thanks. HipHopSavior (talk) 16:28, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- All I did was crop the "PlayStation 3" banner off which goes up the side of the cover like this. I could of done the same with the 360 version by cropping the top off of this one. You should only do this if the game is multi-platform like FIFA. If the game is exclusive to one console like Dead or Alive 4 or InFamous, leave the cover as it is. Crash Twinsanity Boxart Image
Is my new image better?
- Too small. Needs to be at least 240px wide for the infobox. But you can't just stretch it because that will degrade the quality. If you're having trouble finding it, that's probably why the US one was used in the first place. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 17:16, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

“ | From version 3.0, all versions of the PS3 -- old and new -- will have a change to their startup sequences. When booting up the system for the first time, PlayStation family logo, PS3 logo, and PlayStation 3 logo will all display simultaneously. When you start up a game, the PS3 logo will no longer be shown, giving a slight boost in speed to startup time. Note that this does not apply to original PlayStation games, as they run on an emulator. | ” |

Question on Wikipedia
Hey chimpanzeeUK, how can I add those boxes in my profile like "this users PSN is" this users Youtube is" "this user has made x edits" and also why is my name red? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hwguy14 (talk • contribs)
- Hi. Those are called "Userboxes". You can find them on this category and just copy and paste the code into your userpage, or you can copy code from other users' pages if you see a userbox you like. For example, pasting this into your page will add the YouTube box: {{User YouTube|YOUR YOUTUBE NAME HERE}}. Your name is in red because your user page hasn't been created yet. Use this link to start creating your userpage. Once you add a userbox or anything else to the page, the link will be blue. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 07:37, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Uncharted 2 input method
Shouldn't "headset" be noticed as one of the compatible input methods? I mean it's a peripheral that the game should support so.. idk, just thought it would be interesting because the Halo 3 wiki has it listed there as well. --70.157.84.74 (talk) 21:57, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. The Infobox guidlines (here) say that only devices used as controllers should be listed there - sorry, should of said that in my edit summary. It should be removed from the Halo 3 article really but I don't know anything about the game - I assume you can't issue voice commands or anything like that? PlayStation Network article
Hey there, you may have noticed that I've been spending a lot of time vigorously editing the PlayStation Network article. I have been using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Xbox Live as influences and have tried making the article more than just a Start Class one. I wanted to thank you for helping me out and I need some suggestions on what I could do next to the article.
Thanks, yours sincerely, ★Ffgamera★ - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 11:39, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- One of the main things reviewers look for is references and at the moment there's a lot of unsourced information there. Before you do anything else, get what's already there cited. It's tedious but it's better to do it before you add any more because then you can just add references as you add new content. Good work on that map. Looks really good and effectively illustrates the reach of the service. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 11:48, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Oh you're right. Thanks for the reminder. Hahaha thanks about the map, but I just copied the one from the Xbox Live article, greyed out India, and added 11 countries. Funnily enough PSN and Live share the same countries except India. Not sure why PSN is not in India, thought it was. ★Ffgamera★ - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 11:57, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
I just wanted to ask, do you think the picture, File:PS3 Profile Screen Press.png is better off left full screen, or zoomed right into the profile? If we wanted the four icons, I give you permission to take a picture of my profile, but it depends what you think is better: Simple profile, simple profile full screen or friend's profile? ★Ffgamera★ - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 10:08, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- Funnily enough, I was going to change it this week to one that shows the four buttons (I'm also going to go and take some direct caps of Home). I don't know what you mean by the "full screen" profile though? Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 10:26, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- "Full screen" as in, including the XMB wave and the cancel button. "Zoomed in" as in, cropped to only show the profile. Thanks for your help. ★Ffgamera★ - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 06:25, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- Also, I would like to ask you: which picture do you think best represents Home for the PS3 and PSN articles? The apartment, a game space, or the Central Plaza? ★Ffgamera★ - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 06:27, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think cropped (as it is now) is best. It makes it easy to see at small sizes. The Profile is just the box, the waves aren't important. I think the Central Plaza picture is probably the best one. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 07:32, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
I've asked Xeno to step in to the picture discussion, but he has suggested adding mention of the deletion discussion to the VG's deletion debates listing and see how the processes go. The current revision of the article is already image-reduced, so I don't think anyone should be able to raise their fist anymore, but we'll see. ★Ffgamera★ - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 05:14, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
DLC day 1 on EA article
Hi, saw you undid my add.. but not sure why exactly, the comments in the article are alive with angry people... I tried to clarify to say it was the user comments, not the actual article... I certainly think this is something that needs to be on wikipedia, but at the same time i'm not trying to vandalize the page or provide a biased account, so if you can provide guidance on how I can more appropriately cite or phrase this, I would appreciate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.248.163.1 (talk) 11:07, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. User comments, are not considered a reliable source by Wikipedia, nor do they establish notability of a topic. For something to be considered notable it needs to of received "significant coverage" from sources which are considered reliable. While Gamespot is listed as a reliable source, this only relates to content published by Gamespot it's self, not it's users. If the fans' reaction to EA's announcements is in it's self given coverage by sites like Gamespot and other sites (articles like "Fans angry at EA DLC" and so on), then it could be considered noteworthy.
- Aside from that, I can't say I've personally noticed a negative reaction to EA's DLC arrangements in general. If these complaints are aimed and one or two specific games then it would be better to add the information to those articles rather than the EA one.
- Hope that helps? Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 11:27, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Red Dead Redemption release date
Hey, man. IGN has relisted the release date for Europe as "Q2 2010". What should we do ? Should we assume that it means the April 27 date is worldwide ?--Marc-Olivier Pagé (talk) 05:25, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
- If they're no longer giving a specific EU date, we should remove it. I don't think, in the actual article, they specified whether April 27 was US only or not. If they didn't, we should just remove the country alltogether and just have the date. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 08:43, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

LBP: Midget or Man?
Sorry to bother you, why did you revert my edit on LBP? I did say you could message me on my talk page if you wanted to revert so we could discuss, so it is basically ignorance not to message me. Again, I HAVE THE GAME. I know he is a midget, because he is the smallest character in the game. I also know someone who works at MM who told me The Collector was a midget. I shall put my edit back again, but if you want, we can work things out this talk page. Anyway, I expect to keep in touch.
A Common Man (talk) 10:30, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- If you can cite a reliable source stating that the collector is a midget, then by all means, re-add it. But just stating "I own the game so I know" is original research and is against Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. Also, even if original research was allowed, how do you know he is a midget as opposed to a very short man or a dwarf from LBP's stylised characature. Regards, Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 15:35, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I shall keep it that way as the only reliable source is NOT a webpage, but a real life conversation so technically, I have no reliable source. Thanks for keeping me on the path.

I'm not vandalizing that page! I was just adding some links.--76.174.71.100 (talk) 16:18, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- In appropriate links, after being asked many times not to. Hence the link to WP:VG/EL. Also, as I have also said before, the 2.5D games category is valid as you can see from 2.5D which defines it as "3D games in which gameplay is restricted to a two-dimensional plane" - just like LBP. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 16:23, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- How does it violate "WP:VG/EL"? If you want me to stop this, shouldn't I be told of a provision there that supposedly prohibits what I'm doing? Also, have you played LBP? I think it's a game with 3D graphics and 3D gameplay; the gameplay isn't 2D if you ask me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.174.71.100 (talk) 16:30, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- Firstly, I don't know how you can consider LBP to have 3D gameplay? Seems absurd to me. With regard to the links, you added Official Media Molecule blog and LittleBigPlanet at Media Molecule.com which link to the same website that the existing Developer's website link points at. This is against WP:EL which states "avoid separate links to multiple pages in the same website". The YouTube channel hasn't been updated for some time and most of the videos featured there are already linked-to via the existing sites. I re-added the LittleBigWorkshop and Sony links as these could be considered appropriate. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 17:02, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Xbox 360 sales figure is questionable
The source which says the console has sold 39 million on the Xbox 360 and List of best-selling game consoles page is very questionable, as it says "There are now over 39 million Xbox 360 consoles around the world" which implies that the console has shipped 39 million, not necessarily sold 39 million. What do you think? Because the last time I checked, the console had sold 32 million as of September 2009. - Hi. As I mentioned in the edit summary, Template:Infobox_VG#Syntax_guide states "Where different cover designs are available for different regions, the one from the region in which the game has been developed should be used." and also states that if another version has been uploaded, don't change it. As Heavy Rain is developed in Europe, the European box art should be used. Regarding the cache, I think you must be talking about your personal cache. When I view the page after clearing my cache, the EU box art is shown as described in the caption. You might want to try clearing yours. Hi, thanks for alerting me of my mistake. I just thought that the release date of Mafia II would be known universally now; most gaming magazines have cut the ambiguity on when the gangster RPG will be in shops. I apprehended the date from a retail site of which I am ordering a copy off: Play.com. I'll be sure to avoid making this mistake again. TDW |talk 18:46, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for adding the citation, however retaillers are not considered reliable sources for released dates as they often use estimates to allow them to start taking pre-orders. See WP:VG/RS for more info. It's normally best to wait until the release date is confimed by the publisher or developer either via their own website, or by a press release on a reliable gaming news website. As the Take 2 boss doesn't think the game's being released until their "third quarter", I wouldn't bank on it being released in March as Play imply (as much as we would hope it's true :) ) Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 20:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I just figured that Play would've gotten their release date pretty accurate, as they usually are (from my previous orders with them). But I'll take that into consideration next time I evoke my 'good faith' again. :] TDW |talk 22:12, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:LBP-me.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:LBP-me.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:08, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
LBP Series
This (LittleBigPlanet (series)) popped up last night.- X201 (talk) 08:11, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Cheers for letting me know. Have just done a bit of work on it. Not really sure what else could be added. Maybe we could merge it with the Sackboy article we were talking about a while back. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 08:51, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Good idea. I'll throw some thoughts onto your Sackboy user page. - X201 (talk) 12:56, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Hope you don't mind me throwing links and stuff on there and generally making it a bit of a mess to start with. It'll turn into something half-decent at some point. Promise. - X201 (talk) 10:41, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- No, not at all. Feel free to do what you like with it. I'll help at some point, when I find some time :) Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 11:10, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Gt5-screenshot.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Gt5-screenshot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 04:01, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

You found the cover of that last OPM108... you wouldn't happen to have the rest of it, would ya? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.141.62.9 (talk) 18:28, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- I don't read OPM. If you're referring to the file I uploaded, I must have just got that online somewhere. Chimpanzee+ Us | Ta | Co 20:30, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Re: PlayStation Network Video Content
Hi there. I wasn't signed in when making that contribution. In any case, is there someway I can ensure the validity of what I had written? Perhaps links to several message boards and a copy of emails between myself and SCEA? Thanks Triple J (talk) 18:31, 7 December 2010 (UTC) JebusJack
- Message boards and emails aren't reliable sources for Wikipedia. You could take a look at WP:VG/RS for some ideas but if the subject isn't being reported on news sites, etc then verifiability may not be the only issue. Being "true" isn't enough to make information encyclopedic - any information you add also needs to have established WP:notability, which message boards and emails don't demonstrate. It needs to have been reported-on to some extent by reliable, third party sources such as news sites, TV, etc. Hope that helps. Chimpanzee+ Us | Ta | Co 18:44, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

re: block
Hello - thanks for the message. It's common practice not to place a block notice on vandalism-only accounts, and he's a vandalism-only account. Remember: revert, block, ignore - this is the 'ignore' part. :-) Thanks again for the message, and if you have questions or need help, just ask. - KrakatoaKatie 11:30, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
