Cassiopeia - your very helpful ;)
I actually simply looked up admins who can help me get familiar with this process - you were who I chose ;D Your help/ feedback has been invaluable. I am about to do my first proper edit, so I am enjoying this process so far. I hope I do this right and look forward to your input! :D
I will have to go digging to find the page where I first heard about you. I will provide this asap! It was a Wiki policy/cleanup page where I was browsing for assistance. I will be careful not to remove "sourced material" without good cause, as this is a wiki policy worthy of being upheld, using a "just-the-facts" style. I can tell I am going to like this ^.^
Thank you for adding a welcome message on my talk page with some editing guidelines for me. Wish me luck! and Thank you! :)

Discussion of reverts and warnings on my user talk page
Hello, I am confused by the warnings left for my edits on several pages of UFC fighters where I added their stance to their infobox. I reviewed the article about verifiability which says "Attribute all quotations and any material whose verifiability is challenged or likely to be challenged to a reliable, published source using an inline citation." I did not think that fighter stances were likely to be challenged, I understand that since they have been challenged they do need a source to be readded, but I'm confused why my edits were considered worth warnings or why they were considered disruptive editing. It does not seem that all information within the martial artist infoboxes are sourced, for example on the Gilbert Melendez page his birthdate is not sourced. Lemanakmelo (talk) 03:26, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- Lemanakmelo good day. If you look at the bottom of of the info of Gilbert Melendez, it states "Mixed martial arts record from Sherdog", and if you click on the link (sherdog) it will lead you to here. Info on the info are sourced as per Sherdog and those info cant be obtained by sherdog need citation (source). You can add back the stand info as long as you could find the source to support it - see WP:PROVEIT guidelines. Info on fighter stand can be found on UFC stat site and sometimes on MMA junkie. I have sent you a welcome message and guidelines on mma editing in Wikipedia, kindly read them and let me know if you need further help. Stay safe and best. Interested in Counter-Vandalism Training
Hi. I'm just curious how it works for the CVT with respect to when we'd have to be on together. I'm in the American Eastern Time Zone, but I'm fairly flexible for a lot of reasons. Thanks. ToeFungii (talk) 20:50, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- ToeFungii Good day. Time different is no issue as I check Wikipedia daily. The requirement to register for the program require editor with minimum 200 main space edits in Wikipedia and havent been blocked for the last 6 months. Your edit shows you have only 113 as of todate - see HERE see - " Main under Namespace Totals section". When you have reached more than 200 mainspace edit and if you are still interest in the program then pop back here and at the mean time, please complete the The Wikipedia Adventure program to understand the fundamental and basic Wikipedia guidelines. Stay safe FoeFungii and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 12:04, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. I should reach 200 soon. I'd be faster but i often get side-tracked when finding problem edits and try to find sources for the poster. take care. ToeFungii (talk) 18:04, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
The article UFC 249 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
UFC cancelled old UFC 249 April 18, 2020 and no longer exist. The old version obviously causing lot of mess to manage. Its been replaced by new UFC 249 May 9, 2020 event (formally known as UFC 250) - The new fresh UFC 249 page exists - > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_249_(May_9,_2020_event)
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Regice2020 (talk) 00:33, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Regice2020 PROP is only for uncontroversial deletion. As per discussion which you have ping, merged has made consensus UFC 249. The UFC 249 9 May article will be renamed back to UFC 250. Pls seek advice before nominate for PROP or change of event name. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 10:27, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- The same "UFC 249" is non sense. What are you talking about? Low participation are caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. More people are staying home to use internet more fully focus on covering loss school weeks and people going work. It simply less people will be on Wikipedia and more people were ask divert their efforts away other porject to focus on COVID-19 page on addressing the COVID-19 pages during this "crisis". - @Regice2020 and Gsfelipe94: Regice, I understand your enthusiasm on editing MMA articles, but the discussion did drew a lot of editors , to my surprised, as compared to normal discussion threads. Gsfelipe 94 has also echoed my comments on the UFC 249 May 9, 2020 event talk page which now is redirected back t UFC 249 and merge with UFC 249 - both discussions have been closed. You would only understand if you have been editing MMA related wikipedia pages for some years. MMA pages were not as active recently is due to many events were either cancelled or postponed, so no new developments require less much new info to be edited/added. Regice, do drop by and ask for either advice or comments before open to move a page name which is not per norm for the backlog of closing from admin is over one month/6 weeks. Regice2020 and Felipe, stay safe during covid-19 and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:21, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
Counter-Vandalism training
Greetings Cassiopeia I would be very interested in training for CVU. I have been on wikipedia since 2006 but only seriously since 2019 (when I became old enough to semi-retire from work!). Now that I have some time on my hands I would love to help out the project in some way. My time zone is Ireland (GMT). Joseywales1961 (talk) 23:34, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
- Joseywales1961 Good day. Thank you for interested in CUVA program. It is not an issue where you are from as I would usually respond within 24 hours. Pls see the CUVA Syllabus below. There are 10 assignments and 1 final exam in the program. On average, most participants finish the program in 1.5 months. If you are busy due to personal/work reason and need to have a mini break (1-2 weeks), then just inform me in advance. Kindly note that there are many editors who were interested in counter vandalism course and abandon the program mid way due to lack of anticipation of the amount of efforts/time needed in reading the program material, doing assigned "homework" and exams requirements. So do prepare yourself for lots of reading and homework if you intend to proceed with the program and kindly let me know. Thank you and stay safe.
Goals
If you're new and/or inexperienced, before embarking on a Counter-Vandalism training programme, you should be able to demonstrate that you have already mastered the basic principles of editing the encyclopedia and contributed at least 200 edits to MAINSPACE. If you have previously been warned or requested to follow guidelines, you should have demonstrated that you have addressed these issues.

- Joseywales1961, Greetings, first of all, do note that you dont need to ping me when you are in my talk page. As or the CUVA program, You need to know how to provide history different (hist diff) - see Simplest diff guide or Wikipedia:Complete diff and link guide. I have set up the program for you. Made my 200 edits, like to do the counter vandalism training please
Hi, been working hard and made the 200 main space edits HERE (because the page seems to lag a fair amount, I uploaded an image showing that I've made it as a backup - File:ToeFungii_edits.png)
Thanks. ToeFungii (talk) 22:20, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
- ToeFungii, Hi, you have 181 edits on mainspace as per today - see HERE-1. 20 more main space edits to go and then pop back here. best. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:40, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- Cassopeia, isn't it "namespace" "main" that I should be looking at? It has 213. Can you point me to what # it is you're looking at? sorry to be a pain but I thought I was over it. On the image that image that i uploaded it has 203. ToeFungii (talk) 04:44, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- ToeFungii Sorry, I saw 181 just now and I think maybe the system was not updated via server on my end. I am not sure. By the way, do note that you dont need to ping me when you are in my talk page and also, we add additional colon from the previous message threa before start the message for one space indentation to the right (this is the normal communication protocol in Wikipedia) - see more on Wikipedia markup here Help:Wikitext. As or the CUVA program, You need to know how to provide history different (hist diff) - see Simplest diff guide or Wikipedia:Complete diff and link guide and pls read the syllabus on my talk page (this page) :message title "Counter-Vandalism training" requested by Joseywales1961. Once you have finished reading the above and would like to take up the program, then let me know so I could set up for you. best. Cassiopeia(talk) 05:03, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. Sorry about the ping. I'm getting practice in diffs. Maybe you take a look at this example and tell me if I'm on the right track. Also, the trolls link is broken on the syllabus. I'm not sure which page it was to go to, but I'm guessing it's one of these two. option 1 and option 2. And after reading your message I looked and yes it's back to 181. The system seems to lag fairly often as I see a popup at the top which I think the longest lag I've seen is about 18 hours. So hopefully within 16 hours it will lock in the fact that I'm over the 200 (that's why I uploaded this screencapture shows me over 200. (worked with computers for almost 50 years now, and they hate me). ToeFungii (talk) 05:23, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- ToeFungii All is good (hist diff and trolls links) and glad to know you are technical as I am not :). Are you good to go for me to set up the program for you? Cassiopeia(talk) 05:31, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- I think I am. I've already read thru the info, and refer back to it frequently as I'm already trying to take a bite out of vandalism. Right now there are lots I bypass because I'm not comfortable enough as to whether they are vandalism or not (and not sure if agf applies) so I'd like to become more effective. As for being technical, I'm semi-retired now (but with the virus fully retired at the moment), so I've got the time. Thanks ToeFungii (talk) 05:41, 3 May 2020 (UTC)

Question Regarding CVU Training
Hi, hope you’re doing well and staying safe. Just a bit of background info; I’m an editor from Sydney, Australia. I have created many articles and have many drafts in the works. I have almost 1000 mainspace edits on Wikipedia. I’m currently interested in taking part in the CVU program, however, I’d like to ask how much of a commitment this will be, and the total time that this course will take. I’m currently still a high school student and am curious to know whether this will invade much time or not. Thanks. Kaito Nakamura (talk) 08:27, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- Kaito Nakamura G'day. Thank you for interested in the program. Kindly read the message on my talk page (2 messages above yours) titled 'Interested in Counter-Vandalism Training' and 'Counter-Vandalism training'. It is up to you how often / how much time you would edit per week/day. Participants usually take about 1.5 months to finish the program. Once you have read the above message and would like to enroll then let me know so I could set up the program for you. Cassiopeia(talk) 11:08, 3 May 2020 (UTC)

Counter-Vandalism Unit
Hello, I would like to help fight vandalism here and am interested in completing the training program. Is there a space open for another student? And should I go ahead and add Twinkle to my account? Mistralianna (talk) 10:13, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Counter-Vandalism Unit
I saw that your student slots had opened up and... Well, here I am. I’ve been wanting to graduate from the program since I was denied my Rollback Rights request. We have a 5 hour difference between our timezones but I’m willing to stay up overnight. Hope you accept me as one of your students. Thanks in advance, Rodrigo Valequez(🗣) 21:28, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
- Rodrigo Valequez Good day. Editor doesnt need to have rollback right to fight vandalism in Wikipedia as you would use Twinkle to do the work and to enroll in CUVA so you would apply for rollback right is not the right mindset or the reason to take up this program. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 09:45, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
So, have you accepted me as a student? The reason I don’t use Twinkle is because my computer probably couldn’t handle it. Regards, Rodrigo Valequez(🗣) 13:10, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Rodrigo Valequez, Puddleglum2.0, and Girth Summit:, Ridrigo, You have requested rollback right twice with 6 days apart from each other - see request for rollback -1 and requested again 6 days later request for rollback -2. I have never come across any editor could not use Twinkle in their computer. As mentioned to enroll in CUVA so to gain rollback right is the the goal for counter vandalism fighter. You could continue to edit as usual or do some vandalism work if you wish but I would not take you up as the trainee at this moment for the reasons above. Stay safe and best. - Rodrigo Valequez, have you tried using Twinkle? It's not a separate application, it's just an option you enable and use through your browser. See WP:TWINKLE for instructions. You won't be able to complete the CVUA course without it, so I'd suggest you give it a try. Do make sure you read WP:VANDALISM before using it. I'm afraid I'm too busy at the moment to take you through the course right now, but don't worry too much about the time zones - I frequently train people who are many hours apart in terms of time, the tasks can be done when you are ready, and your trainer will be able to respond when they are ready - you don't need to be editing simultaneously. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 10:36, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- The reason I requested the second time was because I hadn’t made 200 edits on my account, I requested again right after I had passed the 200 edit count but I was told my verifiable experience wasn’t enough (I’ve been on Wikipedia since 2017 but most of my edits were made from constantly changing IP addresses). Also, my computer is more than 20 years old and it barely works, I guess I’ll re-apply when I get a new computer. Thanks for the advice, Rodrigo Valequez(🗣) 10:57, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- Rodrigo Valequez, OK, pop back here to CUVA request when you have a new computer and Twinkle is installed. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 11:08, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Concerning Syed Azhar Shah Qaiser
I just noticed that you had unreviewed one of my created articles Syed Azhar Shah Qaiser , which is one among many which I created during my starting days on Wikipedia. However, you had not sent me a note by then, that what were the related problems in article. Anyways, I've taken this note and started addressing various issues - which I personally analyse that should be addressed. Since, currently I'm also having autopatrolled, new page revewing rights along with AfC rights - I will be fixing it soon. Thanks. Whenever you find any issue in any of my articles which I created in my starting months, send me a note please. Thanks. Best - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 16:26, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

UFN: Smith vs. Teixeira
Hey, did that guy simply merge two different events into the same article just because they share the same main event? He just erased everything from the April 25 event by no reason. They should be two separate articles. I see you didn't complain about that, so I wanted to know if you agreed with that editor. Cheers. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 05:14, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- Gsfelipe94 Good day. Yes I saw and the page have been deleted and restore - see HERE. Cassiopeia(talk) 09:48, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- But there's only one article for UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira. The April 25 no longer exists and all the info from it was erased. It's like it never existed. I'm going to restore the original article. Maybe we could keep it under the numbered article and then the new one under that title as it took place indeed. But there's no way it can be left like it is now. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 12:36, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
