File permission problem with File:AjayMaken.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:AjayMaken.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. Admin noticeboard discussion
Please see Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:GaneshBhakt. all images you uploaded its need to permisssion from the copyright holder.note the clause that "The permission to reproduce this material shall not extend to any third-party material." That means that if that pib.nic.in publishes pictures that are owned by some other party, those pictures cannot necessarily be reused -- you'd have to go back to the copyright holder of those photos to be sure. So please don't remove the tag from the images. - Jayanta Nath (Talk|Contrb) 09:30, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

West Bengal legislative assembly elections, 2011
you are clearly against the grain of consensus on the page and have edit warred. do NOT make moves until you gain consensus per WP:BRDLihaas (talk) 21:08, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- How could I get a consensus when User:Jayantanth was against one? GaneshBhakt (talk) 03:38, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Consensus is NOT about a discussion with 2 people, you ask others for help in what is the best way to resolve. b/c one person is against you doesnt give you the right to get your away.
- Furthermore, do NOT accuse of vandalism when you havent got consensus and a discussion is ongoing. WP:AGF.
- Additionally look at the edits there was asourced and relevant stuff you removed
- you seem to be a new editor, if you need queries you can ask and people will be glad to hel[p.Lihaas (talk) 23:41, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- once again now 2 editors have altered your bold edits but per WP:BRD you now need consensus so discuss them on the talk page.
- furthermore, this is a current event and nominated for DYK so we need sourcing on additions, many of the changes which werent sourced. the phase 1 turnout ive kept in as it was sourced (though we need to add the other ones to avoid pov) and i moved the see also link to the proper format at the top of the section.) You also reverted sourced info to add the unsourced one so ive restored that.Lihaas (talk) 19:50, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Possibly unfree files investigation
Hello, GaneshBhakt. Following on the listing above, I have reviewed the matter and brought the images in question to Possibly Unfree Files, because (as I explained at the Administrators' noticeboard) I'm afraid that their license may not be compatible with Wikipedia's requirements after all. I appreciate that you uploaded these images in good faith with the understanding that they were usable, but my concern is that the requirement for accurate reproduction does not permit derivative works. As the tag placed on the articles indicates, images uploaded under free license on Wikipedia must allow modification. You are more than welcome to voice your opinion at that listing, which you will find here, but please remember in doing so that Wikipedians have a shared goal: to produce a free encyclopedia. Sometimes this requires discussing such cases to ensure that we are meeting that goal, but this is not personal, and it is important to remain collegial as we discuss them to keep the project operating smoothly. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:36, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Moonriddengirl is definitely the right person do discuss this with. Hopefully the issue will be resolved. Yes Michael? •Talk 17:52, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

GaneshBhakt Please help me out in the above dispute in which I am accused of uploading Possibly unfree files on Wikipedia. GaneshBhakt (talk) 09:33, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- No, you haven't been "accused" of anything, and I wouldn't call it a "dispute" either. It's just that the Wikipedia community needs to work out whether these pictures can safely be used here. Its all to do with the small print of the terms on which these pictures were made available. I see that you're having a discussion with User:Moonriddengirl about them. That editor is one of the copyright experts here, so I'm sure you will reach the correct conclusion between you. -- John of Reading (talk) 11:53, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
Please stop. Continuing to remove file deletion tags from file description pages on Wikipedia, as you did to File:BuddhoBabu.jpg, without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered vandalism. Further edits of this type may result in your being blocked from editing Wikipedia. - Jayanta Nath (Talk|Contrb) 16:19, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

This user is continously biting me. He stopped a discussion in the 4th of May, and we reached a consensus regarding the accusation of uploading an unfree image. So when I remove the "PUF" tag, he reverted it saying I am a vandal, and that I will be blocked on Wiki if I continue to do this. As I write, I have reverted the edit, but really need help because he is threatening me. I cannot help if he does not want to reach a consesus. He is Wiki-stalking me and is picking on me in every occassion possible. The apple has fallen really, really, really far from the tree. I demand he be blocked because of his continous attempts to distrupt Wikipedia. GaneshBhakt (talk) 17:04, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- No, he is not stalking you, he is helping to make sure that Wikipedia does not get into legal trouble to do with copyrights. The issue of the status of these files in not resolved, see discussion at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2011 May 9#Press Information Bureau of the Government of India images, and you must not remove the PUF tags until it is. JohnCD (talk) 17:45, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, he is stalking me. Otherwise why would he bother about a topic already discussed with another user. I am talking about the files File:BuddhoBabu.jpg and File:BuddhadebBabu.jpg. Also, I took the liberty of giving a last warning to him. GaneshBhakt (talk) 17:54, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Signature of VJ Rannvijay Singh Singha.svg
Thank you for uploading File:Signature of VJ Rannvijay Singh Singha.svg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:09, 11 May 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. - Jayanta Nath (Talk|Contrb) 20:09, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on West Bengal state assembly election, 2011. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.
In particular, the three-revert rule states that:
- Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.

Dear Reader,
Please help me close the discussion at File:BuddhoBabu.jpg and File:BuddhadebBabu.jpg. Even though I am the righfull owner of the photograph, after I uploaded a scan copy, this guy marked them as PUF. Even though I have provided all reasonable explanations, the user is not closing the discussion and the article, WB2011 is suffering because an unclear and bad image of Buddho is being used. Please Help!
GaneshBhakt (talk) 05:16, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi. What you need to do is make it clear whether you actually took the photographs yourself or not, and you have not said anything about that at all - just saying they are from your personal collection is not sufficient, as owning a print of a photograph does not mean you own the copyright. So, who actually took the photographs? -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:19, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi. I've just got a Talkback note to say there is a new message for me here - but there's nothing. (Oh, and I'm watching this page anyway, so there's no need to give me a Talkback - just make your comments here and I'll see them) -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:08, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry for that. The message was not processed due to loss of session data. Anyway, I did take the photographs. But how can I upload a jpg file where there isn't one! I took the picture when Buddhadeb Babu came to visit me in Murshidabad back in 2001. I had an analog camera back then so it is impossible to upload jpg images. If in doubt check other files I uploaded to Commons (link). The one with the finger is taken from my DSLR so it has got metadata. GaneshBhakt (talk) 10:11, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi. What you need to do is add a comment to the deletion discussions to make it clear you took the photographs yourself, and then whoever closes the discussion will not be in doubt - I'll add a comment myself, and you can then perhaps add a confirmation -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:15, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- OK, I've added a couple of comments at the deletion discussions - hope that helps -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:21, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Would the reader be kind enough to link the WikiPolicy on text formatting, especially regarding the italicization of non-English words written in English (like names of buildings, institutions, assemblies, deties, etc.) . Help is appreciated. GaneshBhakt (talk) 07:46, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Move on RVCE
Hi, I noticed you moved R.V. College of Engineering to Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering. I think you moved it based on WP:TITLEFORMAT. However, the policy allows exceptions for subjects where it is almost exclusively known by the abbreviated name. This is the case with many college articles, including R.V. College of Engineering, P.E.S. Institute of Technology, PSG College of Technology, SRM University etc. Hardly anyone knows it by its full name. So, moving it to the full name will not be of much use. Lynch7 •Talk 15:54, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think so. I moved R.V. College of Engineering to R. V. College of Engineering not Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering. I think there is a misunderstanding here. GaneshBhakt (talk) 16:25, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm, I guess I saw you adjusting some of the redirects. Sorry for the misunderstanding :) Lynch7 •Talk 16:40, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
