You added " |listas=Backhouse, Edmund " to the talk page of Edmund Backhouse (MP). Will this distinguish him from his rather more famous/notorious grandson: Sir Edmund Backhouse, 2nd Baronet ? ==Vernon White (talk) 21:51, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- It won't distinguish them, but it won't do anything to confuse them, either. The "listas" perameter simply gets them both sorted under the B's. — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 14:00, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
WPBIO "listas" names
Hello. Thank you for your efforts in filling out the project banners for WikiProject Biographies. Please be careful, however, with East Asian names and with others that may be written in the reverse order from what you are used to. It can be tough to recognize if you're not familiar with Japanese names enough to know that Tanaka is a surname, and Mototsugu is a given name, etc. And I don't blame you for that, certainly. Just try to be careful with it is all, please. Thank you. LordAmeth 07:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
you recently rated
Alexander Milne Calder as a Stub Class article but did not leave any comments as to how you think this article (which, I must admit, is mostly mine) can escape this designation. I have written a fair number of such articles over the last several years and these assessments have started popping up like the dandelions in my garden and I'm at a loss as to what to do? No, not about the dandelions. I dig them up and feel good about it, but about these articles that I've spent much time and energy putting together so other folks can point out that they are not good enough. Yet these other folks never, or rarely anyway, seem to do anything other than leave brightly colored but slightly irritating messages on them. If the time was used to improve the articles rather than leaving that for someone else . . .... well the dandelions would probably all cease to exist too. The effect that this is having on me is that I now remove things (my things, pictures mostly) from these articles when this happens. Carptrash 00:11, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Talk page CSD
Just an FYI, but I removed the {{db-talk}} you added to here and here as both have an article that does exist. -- Gogo Dodo 19:52, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- Both are talk pages for redirects, with further discussion pages at the articles to which the redirects point. — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 19:56, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- Re your message: Ah, I didn't notice that. =) I deleted them since there wasn't much in the Talk pages. -- Gogo Dodo 20:09, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Talkpage BannerShells
Please stop adding |2=,|3= to each project in a Bannershell template. Each Project is listed after the |1= listing. When you add the additional numbers the 2nd,3rd, etc. project is no longer displayed in the bannershell. Take a look at your edit and the banner shell from your edit then what I changed it back to. I don't know why that template is set up like that since multiple numbers would make sense, but it isn't. Optigan13 04:13, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Just wondering whether you added the scientist/academic tag to this article in error for the sports one? From the article, he appears to be a cricketer, but I'm reluctant to change in case I'm missing something. Espresso Addict 17:29, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it was an error, and I've fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out to me! — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 17:44, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Benjamin Waterhouse article
Hello there, and thanks for taking the time to assess the page I created for the WikiBiography portal. I added the stub notice by default as I do for all my articles, but do you think there might be information in the article itself to warrant start class? If so, I will gladly remove the stub tag to reflect a more accurate state of the article. Thanks for your input! Sincerely, Eliz81 17:25, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've taken another look and did indeed upgrade it to a start (it might even be pushing B-class, but I don't really know much about the history of medicine). I've been working on alphabetizing the biography articles and assigning them to workgroups; by default, I also give "Stub" ratings to any articles I come across with stub tags -- we're in the middle of an assessment drive after all. But thanks for bringing this one to my attention. — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 18:42, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking another look at the article! I removed the stub tags on the article page, so it shouldn't cause any confusion. Best of luck with the assessment drive! Eliz81 19:02, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Listas
Good job on adding the |listas= parameter to articles! That explains why lots of people with surnames starting with C were turning up in the letter category I was assessing. I want to note though, you spell parameter "perameter" in your edit summary. And you spelled Wikiquote wrong on your user page :). Anyways, thanks for doing some listas work, it's nice not to have to fill in that darned thing when I'm trying to assess articles. Psychless 22:12, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject template box
I LOVE the new wiki project banner shell that I see implemented for the first time in the page Talk:Colin Ferguson! Those things have drive me crazy! You are my hero!!! <3 xxxoooxxx <3 4evr! --Knulclunk 23:25, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi there; absolutely any article can have a talk page. Any article at all. The only reason to delete a talk page is if the article to which it is attached has been deleted; this one has not, nor is deletion justifible for this article.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 23:43, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't have a problem with that for articles that are, in fact, articles. What I don't get is how a redirect counts in that sense. — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 23:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- My apologies, you are absolutely right. I misread the redirect. I will go now and correct my error. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 23:47, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
I notice lately
that you have been showing up, rating a lot of "my" biographies, most recently a bunch of Icelanders. I feels okay to have you around, a feeling that I don't always get from the assessors. Keep up the work. Carptrash 23:51, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
adminship
Hello. I notice you tag a lot of talk pages for speedy deletion. Ever thought of applying for adminship and doing the deletions yourself? If you're interested I can take a closer look at your contributions and nominate you if I'm happy with what I see. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 16:38, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- The thought had occurred to me, since most of what I've nominated is stuff like redirects' talk pages, but I haven't considered it thoroughly. I'll get back to you when I've read the info a little more thoroughly. And thanks for the offer! — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 16:54, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, take your time. The only problem with requesting adminship is that the process can easily turn into a demoralizing bloodbath. Like I said, if you're interested I'll take a closer look at your contribs and I should be able to give you a pretty good idea of whether or not you'd make it. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 17:47, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just a quick update: I actually just took a cursory glance at your history on Wikipedia and I'm afraid that your limited participation in the Wikipedia namespace will be a problem for a number of RfA participants. I'm not sure I'd find that to be a reasonable objection but the fact is that it will come up. So maybe you should wait until you have more thorough involvment in processes such as articles for deletion. (of course, that's if you want to be an admin, which is not necessarily the case!) Pascal.Tesson 18:05, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- That was kinda one of the things I was worried about. I'm still figuring out the non-admin stuff. — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 19:59, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

listas parameter
What is a listas parameter? KP Botany 22:01, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're not to first to ask. (I think I was asked this here a few sections ago, but never mind.) It's a parameter in the Biography Wikiproject's banner that enables the categories to be correctly sorted. Since the project deals almost exclusively with individual people — they do cover a few groups, such as the musical kind — they came up with this so that the articles would sort by people's family names and not their given names. The default would usually be the reverse, since in most (all?) Western countries the given name comes first. — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 22:08, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Nah, I looked, the discussions above sorta give a clue that it has something to do with sorting by surnames, but it's not directly asked or answered. Thanks. KP Botany 22:12, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- THanks for helping by filling the listas parameter. However, please be careful with Asian names. As I have been assessing articles, I have noticed many Asians (especially Koreans, Vietnamese, and Chinese) have been missorted. In these languages, as well as Burman, the family names come first. With the Japanese, it is more confusing as in their language, the surnames come first, but most articles are written in the Western order. However, many articles on historical personages are NOT written backwards. If you have any questions, please drop me a line. ludahai 魯大海 14:44, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Just so you know
Hi,
When a page is redirected, it still exists. There is normally no reason to delete its article talk page. Best wishes, Xoloz 18:52, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
You have earned the
seldom coveted Two Thumbs Up Award for editing more pages on my watchlist than any one else. Probably more that any two else. Carptrash 01:52, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Damn, that's a lot of biographies (I haven't been doing much else lately besides sorting the talk pages for the biography project assesment drive). — AnnaKucsma (Talk to me!) 13:30, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Talk:Garreth Carvell, which you proposed for deletion, because the page you proposed for deletion was not an article, user page, or user talk page. The talk page of the redirected article exist, so I pointed it to that, there's no need to the actual page. KTC 01:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
I've seen you tagging behind my English bishops creation spree, and just wanted to say thanks for the help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ealdgyth (talk • contribs) 03:16, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
