Early Man edit: reply
The link to the article is: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_Man_(film). The article was actually edited by me through the IP 69.94.33.82 and 69.94.83.174. Deleted my comments on a talk page.
So you deleted my comments on the Pierre Kory talk page, citing civility. However, I don't see what was uncivil about them. Where some words on the harsher end of the spectrum used? Yes. Is that uncivil? Not by any reasonable metric.
In fact, if I had not used the words that I did, the nature of the message which I was trying to convey would have been significantly different. There is a reason for swear words, and when not used to taget someone, they are an entirely valid tool of expression. The fact that when we swear we are in a highly aroused states such as pain or outrage, only justifies my use of such words when trying to convey emotion.
As such, I think you should return my comments to the talk page. Of course, I am willing to hear what the "issues" were, so I can understand the policies here. But again, I don't believe I erred anywhere. VarezTico (talk) 23:31, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
About maratha empire
Don't you think adding a separate section about destruction of maratha empire is kind of hypocritical since no such section has been added about Mughal empire and delhi sultane where temple destruction and killing of non Muslim were well documented 2409:4062:2207:E477:0:0:520:C0AD (talk) 21:36, 29 October 2022 (UTC)

Request
Please stop commenting on my talk page. It is not wanted, regardless as to your official capacity. I didn't want to have to write on yours because it feels very much like doing the very thing i've just asked you not to do, but here we are. Deleted Photo from Orange County, California page
Hey there. I deleted the image of Nixon's Drive-In from the Orange County page because the restaurant was in Whittier, CA (which the Whittier Historical Society lists here: https://www.facebook.com/WhittierMuseum/photos/nixon's-drive-in-on-east/10153915558991274/). Whittier is not in Orange County. Hope that clarifies! Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.147.227.71 (talk • contribs) 23:10, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello @Adakiko, thanks for you feedback. You have accidentaly removed my update to the page about APIs because there was not a source. Homophobia in minority communities
Hi, you recently reverted my edit, and I imagine this happened before I posted my talk page discussion.
Could you point out to me where in the main body this content is sourced? I'm not seeing it. And I think I've shown that some secondary sources contest this view. I also don't see how such a vague overgeneralization can be sourced reliably without synthesis. - 2603:8080:2C00:1E00:891:D96:5E15:4083 (talk) 10:29, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

Removal of content on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990 film)
My apologies, I should have explained why I removed the content. It was because it is standard to put information about a reboot of a film series, in the wikipedia page for the final installment of the initial film series. For example with Spider-man 3 or The Dark Knight Rises. For the wikipedia page of first installment you usually only put information of it's sequels in the "other media'' section. On the Wikipedia page, the subject's birthdate is not exact. A simple google search provides several sources that have an exact (and identical) birthdate for the subject. This would seem to make this information common knowledge and thus no citation needed. I apologize if this is not common practice. Thanks for message, though. I will be more careful in the future. 2600:6C56:6508:5B00:A066:20A9:C02D:8B1F (talk) 19:07, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- wp:Biographies of living persons (BLPs) need to cite a source for birthdate. If it is "common knowledge", the date still should cite a source. If their date is widely known, it should be easy to find a reliable source. Sources should meet wp:BLPRS. See help:referencing for beginners. Adakiko (talk) 19:51, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
Persistent reverts to non-neutral wording in 2022 Istanbul bombing article
Hi, I have noticed you have reverted a change to non-neutral wording in the 2022 Istanbul bombing article. However, these changes keep reappearing (and are actual in the current version of the article). There were also some previous edits like that. Interestingly, according to WHOIS, all these edits are from Turkish IP addresses, although I am not sure if this is of any relevance. If I were to (further) revert these edits, that would probably constitute a WP:3RR violation, so I guess the most I could legitimately do would be to bring it to the attention of someone who may be interested in dealing with this issue, which is why I am writing this. 176.62.33.75 (talk) 19:44, 15 November 2022 (UTC)

Edit warring notice
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Disclose.tv. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Smefs (talk) 11:27, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Smefs

Problematic editor
Hi Adakiko! I am considering to bring Zahamey to ANI for persistent addition of unsourced content, which I consider the primary issue with their edits. It's definitely not vandalism, but just bad good-faith editing. However, with the inconsistent and messy warnings on their talk page (including vandalism warnings for what does not appear to be vandalism), I hesitate to go to ANI at this stage. Probably you can continue to observe their editing and consistently give them "unsourced content"-warnings, as I will do too, so we can quickly and orderly build up to level 4. Regarding my edit of IP Code
The original claim does not have a reliable source. It is difficult to find a reliable source which states in one line "ingress protection testing is not expensive" but see e.g. the standard https://www.wewontech.com/180619001.pdf there is no reference to external certification and the testing procedures are not expensive processes. Please reinstate my edit 92.220.62.18 (talk) 08:46, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia prefers wp:secondary sources over a wp:primary document. One problem with publishing your device's IP is the cost of failure. A phone with an IP rating that is water damage may result in a substantial claim. Data recovery, productivity lost, etc. The testing may be cheap; the liability / insurance could be the bulk of the expense. Adakiko (talk) 09:04, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
When a person is editing a page, citations are not always placed right away. The proper way to handle this is either to be patient and give the editor a chance or one can shoot the editor a message asking about citations. Reverting edits made in good faith (i.e. not vandalism) is a poor approach. Ewingdo 16:04, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Ewingdo: I would think that you as a college instructor would be a stickler for citations. Currently, there are over 590,000 citation-needed tags, 17,684 from this November alone. Category:Articles with unsourced statements from November 2022 That is a problem.
- The editor adding the content to the article should have access to the source and would be the obvious one to add the citation. Reverting and warning immediately allows the editor to add the citation while the sources are most likely at their fingertips. Seeing that the edit appeared constructive, I added a {{welcome-unsourced}} rather than a warning to Christophertnl's talk page. Christophertnl replaced the content without adding a source. LilianaUwU warned and the content was replaced with citations.
- It would be nice if one could add a {{cn}} tag, remind the editor, and the editor added the citation. I once did an experiment where I did add {{cn}} tags to a number of articles and asked the editor to add citations. I think that two out of the 20 or so got a citation over the coarse of a week. I don't find that acceptable.
- Administrators don't seem to have a problem with wp:RCPers undoing edits and warning people and seem quite willing to block editor for repeated additions of unsourced content. I've probably reverted 10k edits for not adding a citation; 50k edits total. Note the lack of warning and blocks that I have received? Unfortunately, this seems to be the most workable method and it will likely continue this way in the foreseeable future.
- It would be nice if there was a tool that would request the editor add a citation, add a {{cn}} tag, and remind the tool-user to check back when a "sufficient" amount of time has elapsed. Perhaps you could create one? Or better yet, code the Wikipedia editor to recognize unsourced content and refuse to save until it has a citation.
- Given the problem with citations, wp:V, people need to add citations with their edit. They can use wp:Show preview to check everything, then add citations, check again, then "Publish page". Please encourage your students to add citations with their edits?
- BTW: If you mention an article, please link it? It simplifies finding what you are talking about. A {{pagelinks}} would be better. ANOTHER syndrome (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). I linked the section header. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 20:02, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
My edit Annette Andre The existing detail for Annette Andre's birthplace (Sydney) has no reliable citation either. Her website states "Sydney" https://annetteandreofficial.wordpress.com/2018/06/18/welcome/ as home town. Is it proper to list her birth place as Drummoyne, Sydney, New South Wales? She is not listed on the Drummoyne page. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 12:58, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- Drummoyne is an inner suburb of Sydney, but is a location in it's own right as Sydney describes the entire metropolitan area as well as a specific location of Sydney. "Home town" doesn't specifically mean "place of birth", if you are differentiating between the the two, Drummoyne NSW would be her place of birth, Sydney is her home town.

- You are welcome. It seemed that many of the web mentions appear to originate from Wikipedia. That's a common problem; a bit here on it wp:CIRCULAR. e.g. someone thinks they know something and adds it to Wikipedia, somebody writes a news article, getting the info from Wikipedia. Someone sees that info on Wikipedia isn't sources, googles it and finds that news article and cites it: a circular reference! Cheers -Jim

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:47, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
Are you a sock puppet account for Andy Valmorbida?
Serious question as it could only explain why you are trying to support content on a page that clearly is self serving and lacks any quality? Why don't you actually spend 2 seconds to check the content and edits rather than bot jump on a page you know nothing about. Sorry I hurt your feelings. Administrators' newsletter – December 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2022).
- Consensus has been found in an RfC to automatically place RfAs on hold after one week.
- The article creation at scale RfC has been closed.
- An RfC on the banners for the December 2022 fundraising campaign has been closed.
- A new preference named "Enable limited width mode" has been added to the Vector 2022 skin. The preference is also shown as a toggle on every page if your monitor is 1600 pixels or wider. When disabled it removes the whitespace added by Vector 2022 on the left and right of the page content. Disabling this preference has the same effect as enabling the wide-vector-2022 gadget. (T319449)
- Eligible users are invited to vote on candidates for the Arbitration Committee until 23:59 December 12, 2022 (UTC). Candidate statements can be seen here.
- The proposed decision for the 2021-22 review of the discretionary sanctions system is open.
- The arbitration case Reversal and reinstatement of Athaenara's block has been closed.
- The arbitration case Stephen has been opened and the proposed decision is expected 1 December 2022.
- A motion has modified the procedures for contacting an admin facing Level 2 desysop.
- Tech tip: A single IPv6 connection usually has access to a "subnet" of 18 quintillion IPs. Add
/64
to the end of an IP in Special:Contributions to see all of a subnet's edits, and consider blocking the whole subnet rather than an IP that may change within a minute.

Edit warring notice
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Telecentric lens. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
Adakiko (talk) 13:44, 3 December 2022 (UTC)

Cosenza
I removed the Cosenza cathedral-UNESCO fact and wrote that it's not under UNESCO but got your message that I didn't explain why I removed it, so here's second try - it's a bit tricky to prove that something doesn't exist, but I'll try, here's the official UNESCO page with all the italian sites mentioned, and there's no cathedral in Cosenza in it https://whc.unesco.org/en/statesparties/it
I honestly don't care too much about it so won't pursue it anymore, and already lost more time than I planned on it, there's not much sense in trying to improve the facts just to see it deleted and restored, so do whatever you want with it :) 188.252.184.140 (talk) 13:04, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

Dick Ellis
You changed Charles Howard 'Dick' Ellis back to Charles Howard Ellis. Dick Ellis is the name by which he was best known. Just like 'Magic' Johnson or 'Tina' Fey. Their Wikipedia articles carry the nicknames, so why change Ellis? He is referred to as Charles Howard 'Dick' Ellis in the Australian Dictionary of Biography: https://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/ellis-charles-howard-dick-10113
His papers at the National Library of Australia are the same: https://catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/4505449 2001:448A:5067:33BC:7D58:BFB3:4147:F908 (talk) 05:31, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia's manual of style says not to put nicknames inside of the full name. See Wikipedia's wp:Manual of Style, specifically WP:NICKNAME:
Avoid (for example) adding a nickname, or a contracted version of the original given name(s), in quotes or parentheses between first and last name. For example: Bill Clinton, not William "Bill" Clinton.
The article already statesbetter known as Dick Ellis
. Please do not place "Bill" inside of his name. Adakiko (talk)

hello! Was wondering how Chris Niosi has a wikipedia despite the majority of the sources being from twitter post GrayNG (talk) 19:34, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, @GrayNG: Using wp:Self-published sources can be tricky. For example, ref [30] (this link will be in error if sources are added or removed) appears to be an "official" Twitter account of Viz Media. I think that one meets See WP:TWITTER. There are about 14 Twitter citations. If you think other cites are not wp:RS, you can change them or tag them with {{primary source inline}}, {{better source needed}}. Are there any other citations that you are concerned about that don't meet RS? Depending on the severity of the problem, you can also add a {{primary sources}} or {{self-published}}. The former has a "|talk=" parameter. You can add a new section to talk:Chris Niosi and then link it to the template.
- If you want to have fast access to the list of cleanup tags can add a link to
{{Inline cleanup tags|state=collapsed}}
on your user page or add a link to your browser. (See {{navbox}} for display options). - Please link the article being discussed? That helps to find it. My knowledge is limited here. You can ask for more details or suggestions at the wp:Teahouse. Hope this helps! Thanks Adakiko (talk) 22:48, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

What country are you from? All sources were burned only local knowledge is aware.. Nathan066 (talk) 05:24, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Nathan066: You do realise that wp:Wikipedia is anonymous? I have no idea who you are, where you are, where you are from, or if your edits were correct or not. That is why a wp:reliable source (RS) is needed for wp:verifiability. A book or article published by an RS is would be quite acceptable for sourcing that content. Someone who is familiar with the waterfall and is considered reputable enough to publish that fact would be more than sufficient. If there is no RS, please don't add it to the article. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 08:10, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

- @Nathan066: Please leave replies here. See help:talk pages. I will help. The link for citation [1] is 404, so I added an archive-link. I looked at the pdf, but did not find "White Drin Waterfall" nor "Ujëvara e Drinit të Bardhë". I did find a "Drinit të Bardhë". Google's translation didn't make sense to me. If that is the only reference, another should be found. Its page number should be added to the source. Know of one? I will help word it. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 06:34, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Etymology is more science (linguistics) than history
Dear user, It’s bad etiquette to undo an edit without explanation. Better sources are needed to make a big claim like “Ahmad’s” etymology has no relation to Mohammed, despite sharing the same grammatical root in Arabic? . Specific pages of the encyclopaedia of Islam need to be referenced alongside defining the encyclopaedia of Islam itself as a western published study which is quite controversial by traditional Islamic standards. All of these need to be done in order for that claim to be published in the article.
Thus is the way of scholarship integrity. Feel free to debate. Mbaban (talk) 23:11, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Mbaban: It is bad etiquette to remove content from an article without explanation. Why do you think those sources are insufficiently reliable? Adakiko (talk) 23:13, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
- Without explanation was a mistake, as already explained? , it was the misplaced finger. You can’t make a very controversial claim while referencing an entire encyclopaedia. If there was a debate about the etymology, it should be under the etymology section, furthermore, it should reference specific arguments of the source, rather than citing a 10,000+ pages as a source, that’s like me referencing Wikipedia. Furthermore, the source is controversial in traditional Islamic scholarship schools such as Al alazhar and qom, therefore, if a debate about etymology was to be made, all of that information from all sides should be included and explored, as it is a very important Islamic-Christian argument point. The article Robert MacDonnell has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Page created by a spammer with a single source with false information unrelated to the article seemingly generated by a transformer model
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. BrigadierG (talk) 15:52, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Robert MacDonnell
Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Robert MacDonnell, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
