Assignment 4

Alright, So as far as issues and problems with the existing article, I can see a few. Firstly its very brief, and doesn't really contain much information. It has a decent timeline, but doesn't really discuss any of the work that hes done. I found some copies of a few books written my Simon and Binet, neither of which are in the references section of the existing article. I think they would be good to discuss, since they both talk about the focus of their research.

Paige.kissinger (talk) 01:58, 6 October 2015 (UTC) With this article, there are a couple improvements to be made. The most important one is how more information on this man is needed. After reading the article I have many questions about his early life, education, and more accomplishments (books) he was involved in. This article has only one reference, so getting more information and references on Theodore Simon is a great necessity.

Feedback on Assignment 4

For all of you -- first of all, you need to read the instructions carefully and follow them. You were supposed to do this assignment in Alen's sandbox, not the sandbox talk page. Please be careful to follow instructions in the future. Other than that, this group has made a nice start, except I don't see any contribution from Alen.

For Logan: I think the external link is most important when the material can only be accessed on the web. In general, external links are not a good idea, since they tend to break over time.

For Paige: There's really no set number of references, but the more the better. I suggest that you head over to the library and ask a reference librarian for help. They're good at finding information - it's their job. Other suggestions: search on Theodore Simon and Alfred Binet together, since they were closely associated. Here is one thing I turned up by doing that: Alfred Binet, general psychologist

Another suggestion is to go through books on the history of psychology and intelligence testing, look for Simon in the index.

Finally, once you find a few articles and books that refer to Simon, look in their reference lists to find the citations.

Great work so far! I'm seeing that there's not that much information on Simon. This is surprising, considering the importance of the IQ test he helped to develop. If you can fill out your outline, you'll be doing a great job of digging up information. Please take advantage of the library. Reference librarians are experts at finding information.

For Alen: Once again, I am not seeing a contribution from you. You should realize that the Wikipedia project is worth 25% of the total points for this class. You need to let me know if there is something preventing you from completing these assignments.

For Paige: Nice job on this. I realize that there is not that much information available on Simon. So you do the best you can with what you've got. I really can't think of anything to add to what you've done.

For Logan: See my comments to Paige.

For all: Please note that none of you completed the part of the assignment that involved giving each other feedback on their leads.

• Once again, there's not much out there on Simon. However, keep plugging away. You've already made a nice contribution for anyone who wants to know more about Simon than just that he worked with Binet. One thing you might try to get further information is searching Google Scholar in French for Theodore Simon, then use Google translate to put French sources into English.

Assignment 7

So I added some of the information that I found so far. I'm having difficulties finding information on Simon's early life, including where he was educated. I took the information that was already in the existing article and added some more information and rearranged it. If we can't find more information on Simon's early life we might have to consider merging the two sections. Feedback on Assignment 7

Hi Group 13. This is just some quick feedback to get you going on Assignment 8. I will be getting back on Sunday with more detailed comments.
1. This article is coming along very nicely. Great job! It will not be hard to get this ready to move to the main article space.
2. Proofread the whole article. Some sentences have minor grammatical errors. Also, you need to edit out various comments from group members.
3. My main suggestion right now is to get the article properly organized. See the Editing Wikipedia articles on Psychology pamphlet, page 2, on how to organize an article about a psychologist.

Followup:
In general Write his name consistently. Use his full name, in bold, including proper accent mark, the first time you mention him in the lead. Thereafter, just use his last name. Don't' call him by his first name.
Info-graph section: You need to use a template for this. Go to WP:List of infoboxes to find the right template. Also see Help:Infobox. Make sure your picture is acceptable to post on Wikipedia.
Education and Early Career: I agree with Alen's suggestion.
Late Career: Combine the first and second sentences into one paragraph. Statement in first sentence needs to be backed up with a citation. Finally, fix the reference for the Theta Wolf article.
These are not difficult fixes. Let me know when you make the changes and I will contact Ian to vet your article for publication.

Assignment 8 decision

Hello Group 13.

• I can't see where there has been much work done at all on this article between Assignment 7, due Nov. 9, and Assignment 8, due the 20th. There are a few edits by Alen, and nothing from Paige or Logan. Am I missing something? I would rather not give you zero points for this assignment - please tell me what is going on.
• If you make the changes I've suggested from Assignment 7, there's still a chance you can get this published. However, at this point it is not in good shape to send forward to Ian, the content editor at WikieEd.

Looks good. One thing though is that not every statement in the article is explicitly connected with a supporting citation. In the second paragraph, for example, the first two sentences have supporting citations, but the last two do not. You don't have to add a citation at the end of every single sentence - you might write an entire paragraph supported by one source and put that citation at the end of the paragraph- but any text after the last reference in a paragraph is uncited.
