November 2024 Unreferenced edit

[edit]

Hello 103.121.138.23. Please do not add content on Wikipedia, as you did at C. V. Raman, without providing a reliable source substantiating your edit and giving a valid reason for the addition in the edit summary. Your addition of "popularly" was not supported and reference #2 for the name C. V. Raman contradicts your edit. If you believe the information you added was correct, cite at least one appropriate source that is considered reliable under Wikipedia quidelines. Also, your repeated edits constitute an edit war according to the reverts you have made on C. V. Raman. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although another editor disagrees. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. Your edit was not constructive, was apparently not researched, was contrary to the reliable source, was disruptive, and was removed. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Repeated disruptive editing will result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you for your attention, Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 02:32, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
