Reaching my user page

[edit]

Accidental redirects to my user page

[edit]

A disheartening process

[edit]

There are a handful of methods Wikipedians employ to accidentally reach my user page. These range from accidentally clicking my name, to mistakenly typing in the exact URL to my user page. Even I sometimes accidentally reach my user page. It can feel soul-crushing to find out you reached my user page. Previous custodians have reported sleepness nights and unexplainable rage mere few days after they stumbled upon my user page. If you feel these symptoms, you have likely been the victim of a SirDore user page attack. In such a scenario, please contact yourself via your local mirror for further advice. In case you are redirected back to this page, attempt to break the loop by contacting me on my user talk page. This should theoretically break any space-time continuum imbalance. In case this does not solve your time-based woes, please contact yourself via your local mirror for further advice.

Going forward

[edit]

In order to prevent any SirDore user page phishing attacks in the future, you should carefully analyze any links for any potential SirDore user page shenanigans. Signs of a potential SirDore user page attack include, but are not limited to:

  • Making sure the person you are replying to in a talk page is not SirDore, as SirDore's user page is SirDore's user page. Replying to SirDore in a talk page might make your finger slip and accidentally click on SirDore's user page.
  • Making sure the link you are clicking is what it purports to be. An example of a fraudulent link might be a message which claims to bring you to the wikipage for unexplainable rage, when it actually redirects you to the wikipage for Anger. You can find out what a link will redirect to by hovering over it on PC or clicking the link on mobile to find out where the link will redirect to. If the mobile example brings you to SirDore's user page, it might be a SirDore user page attack
    • Making sure the article you are potentially clicking a link on has a consistent style. An inconsistent style, such as a bullet-point list with strange or inconsistent spacing, is a sign that a page might be harbouring ill intentions. Ill intentions such as attempting to redirect you to SirDore's user page.
