A glimpse of indian freedom struggle shows its agonies,suffering and sacrifices related to the india’s pilgrimage from first war of Indian independence to the modern, unified, democratic india. With great devotion and diligence by morden freedom fighters and national leaders, the spirit of freedom and sacrifices was carried out from generation to generation, with millions of sacrifices and strugal to achive the freedom on 15th august,1947.
It was unfortunate that the peopelof hyderabad karnataka region have to bear the troubles, sufferings and sacrifices before the final merger of “NIZAM’S STATE” with Indian union of 5th November 1948. Sardar patel had to tough task of integration of 600 and odd “princely state”.hyderbad was one amoung them anti national’s fanatics posed a great threat to india’s unity, integrity and security by there misdeeds. At this hour of cry, as lord sri Krishna had said in geeta .

How truel . Our Hero Hutatma Approa Patil was born on 14th January,1924 in th respectable , highly cultured and religious family of father SHARANAPPA PATIL and mother AMBABAI at mahagoan. Imbided best samskars in him. As a young boy, he was found of bhajan, kirtan and folk music. He was a perfect blend of vedic philosophy and modern refoms and thinking of “ARYA SAMAJ” with high respect’s to all religions.
After his primary studies at mahagoan, he left to Gulbarga for higher studies. As a youth he had a well built body with a keen mind.His teachers, friends and people had a great faith and respect for his kind heart , intellectual mind and hard working hands .
At this juncture, whole india was gaining the full momentum of the cause of freedom struggle by the call of nation . Out hero plunged into the freedom struggle with total commitment, dedication and social service . He was deeply influenced by the thoughts, speech’s and writings of national leaders . He organized and conducted many meetings and shibiras and motivated many to join the national stream.
After the early demise of his parents, he did not care the impediments of family problems but his determination of services and sacrifices strengthed . He conucted and hoisted the national flag against all adds and difficulties on 15th august,1947. But the anti-nationals and fanctics could not tolerated the freedom and started shooting. Arsoning and killings of innocent people. There was a great threat to the life and property and innocent and downtrodden people of this region. He could not tolerate the untold miseries of people. He said “DO OR DIE” he echoed the voice and thought of rastra veera SWAMI RAMANAND THIRTH. He relised the importance of protecting the property and life of people eith self help and resect. He was leader of leaders.He organised many shibiras at Dudhani, Akkalkot, Gaudgaon, Yelsangi, Chincholi and other places. The main objective of these shibiras was to collect and motivate the youth for the self protection and protection of Dharma. All the freedom fighters were trained for horse , lathi savar, operation and maintenance of fire arms and ammunition . It was a collective effort of CHANDRASHEKHAR PATIL, SARDR SHARANAOUDA,BHIRAPPA,HANUMANYHRAO PATIL OF JAMBGA, HAKIKAT RAO, JAGANATHRAO CHANDRKI. These leaders conducted similar shibiras in their respective zones . He reseved the news that the fanactics have attacked the yelsangi village .The innocent people were put to the untold miseries. Our hero cannot tolerate and planned a counter attack with help of his fellowmen and band of freedom fighters. He fought heroically and killed many and driven out many fanatics and protected the life and property of yelsangi. It was a great victory for him and a great insult to fanatic as they were defeates by a small group and lead by our hero at the age of 23 years. They success story of the battle spread like a wild fire. It was a gre3at impetus to the freedom fighter and shibir o[erations. He really became “APPA” of this region.
The retreated fanactics with more army and fire power planed a heinous cime to trouble and torture the people of TURK CHINCHOLI on vijay Dasmi, 10th October,1948.
At Mahagoan, all the people were celebrating dasara with pomp and gaity. He receved the attack plan on that day from his intelligence wing. He flashed the secret messaged th his friend and fighters and lead the group to TURK CHINCHOLI .It was a fierce battle for many hours and days. The fanactics and anti nationals took the shelter at a big mansion surrounded by a strong fort. He fought vigorously and killed many. He kindles the spirit of freedom and voice of the downfroden, Battle continued.
After a heavy exchange of ire, one bullet from the sten gun stuck the abdomen of our hero. He did not stop and continued the fight. His followers immediatley covered him and took him the safe shelter. He was carried to Gulbarga Govt.HOSPITAL on the shoulders of patriots and trust worthy fellowmen in the drizzling rains. It was a shocking news to all the people as he was critically injured by that time, Indian army took complete control of the situation. He was on the death but still inspiring his fellowmen to fight. On 12th October,1948, he breathed his last in the name of Bharatmata….. The eternal soul merged with the Almighty. The marfreedom of our hero spread like wild life in the whole region. The people , leaders and fighters began to flock to the hospital to have the darshan and last glimpse of the departed lkeader. Tens and thousands of people paid their guns salute. The martyredom of hutatma apparoa patil was broadcasted by Radio station, All the leading news papers and dailies wrote a special tribute to Hutatmt Apparoa Patil. Many national leaders politicians,freedom fighters conveyed their condolences and shared the grief and sarrow
ATMA BECAME HUTMA.
The last rituals took place at VIRKTA MATH,MAHAGOAN as per the wishes to public and leaders as he was undisputed hero,leader of dontroden people.
In his memorium, a bronze bust has been erected at the panchayat office, LAKKSHMI TEMPLE ROAD, MAHAGOAN. Afree hostel called :HUTTAMA APPAROA PATIL COSMOPOLITAN FREE HOSTEL: is being run by the government and now remains closed for the lack of funds. Every year, the 14th January will be celebrated as MARTYAR’S DAY. We conduct sports and games and cultural festival for schools, collage students and youths.
The Hutatma Apparoa Patil Yuvaka sangh organizes health camps, blood donation camps, and pollution awareness programmes. The Hutatma Apparoa Patil Yuvaka Sangha Participates in National Literacy mission and brings the youth to the National stream
