Draft on Sanket Goel

[edit]

Hi @HitroMilanese, couple of months ago you declined this draft on Sanket Goel (Draft:Sanket Goel) citing referencing issues. Over the months I've been working on it. Can you have a look and tell me what else I can do? Shashy 922 (talk) 10:18, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi Hitro, I need your help to understand the reason why my draft (Newton Cinema)got rejected and how I can rectify it . Appreciate your help in advance Getmekrishna (talk) 06:00, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

Please see WP:CORPDEPTH and WP:NCOMPANY and demonstrate notability accordingly. Unless notability is shown, the draft will not be accepted. Regards. Hitro talk 06:04, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

Regarding no reliable sources

[edit]

I found that you have rejected my article on Dr. Narayan Dutt Shrimali saying that it has no reliable sources. To be frank with you Dr. Narayan Dutt Shrimali was present in such a time where the internet facility was not that high in india. In addition to that there is probably zero publishers that have covered and presented news regarding him on the internet. So the only source that i have are those recordings present as youtube videos and some third party websites. And when i did present these sources you rejected them by saying that these sources were unreliable .So what can i do inorder to publish these articles? AfD listing of Madhur Sharma

[edit]

Hello, you recently nominated Madhur Sharma to the Articles for Deletion process (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Madhur Sharma) when the article's deletion was probably uncontroversial. AfD requires volunteer work on the part of others, and there is usually a backlog of requests which hinders careful analysis of each nomination. Please consider the speedy deletion or proposed deletion processes first in the future, as recommended by the overall deletion policy. Thank you. Someone who's wrong on the internet (talk) 02:37, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

@Someone who's wrong on the internet
Hello there,
Thank you for reminding this. Don't you notice that the artist's page claims that he has released a song on Times Music which may satisfy criterion #5 of WP:MUSICBIO. That is enough to strike out Speedy deletion criteria and makes this deletion controversial. Apart from that, there are two references from Dainik Bhaskar which are non-English and can be helped in establishing notability per WP:GNG and this make the deletion not so uncontroversial as you appear to be thinking.
I have been participating in AfDs for over one and a half decade, so rest assured that I know what could be controversial and what is not. Thanks again though. Regards. Hitro talk 08:28, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

Request for feedback on article

[edit]

Hello,

I recently wrote an article about Davinder Pal Singh and have a conflict of interest. I've disclosed this on the talk page and followed Wikipedia's COI guidelines. Before submitting the article for review, I'd like to request your feedback on the article's neutrality.

Here's the link to the draft: Draft:Davinder Pal Singh

Any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards, AmitojSingh1 (talk) 00:12, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Submission declined

[edit]

Hi! You rejected, draft articles Draft:V.Silvestrov (film). I added some external and internal links and slightly improved the draft. This film is one of the List of the 100 best films in the history of Ukrainian cinema. The criterion of fame is not necessarily relevant to the value of a film. There are rare cultural products (about the lives of famous people) to which this documentary belongs. I think it deserves its own article on Wikipedia. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spiridon Svidlov (talkcontribs) 02:26, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023

[edit]

Hello HitroMilanese,

New Page Review queue April to June 2023

Backlog

Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.

Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.

Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.

You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.

Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

Miss Teen International

[edit]

Hello, good day. The help of an administrator or editor is needed to resolve the conflict caused by the user Aayat1998 who intends to usurp the history of the Miss Teen International (Americas) article and putting this information in the Miss Teen International (India) article. The user Aayat1998 has repeatedly destroyed the work of other editors and despite the fact that this issue has already been resolved at the following link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Miss_Teen_International, continue with the disruptive editing. The user has been acting vandalistically all the time, there is no way to make him understand. I feel very stressed having to revert all the time the false information that he post and he change in the aforementioned articles. Yahsabaot (talk) 07:49, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol newsletter

[edit]

Hello HitroMilanese,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 1400 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:24, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for reviewing my submission. This person is known in their county for their teen stage and film roles. It was announced on the radio he was to debut again in 2024 after signing. They didn't have a page so i’m trying to make one.

I found this website referencing him: https://amp.theguardian.com/education/2017/aug/24/squeals-of-joy-at-lutons-denbigh-high-after-stress-of-new-gcses

would i need more articles about him from press? Thatmister123 (talk) 08:35, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

@Thatmister123
Hello there,
Please review WP:NACTOR and WP:GNG. Subject of the articles must fulfill the criteria of inclusion for acceptance of the drafts.
The The Guardian reference that you mentioned above is nothing more than a passing mention which is not even close to his current profession. The sources where the subject received significant coverage is considered helpful while establishing notability.
Regards. Hitro talk 08:58, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
Is it possible to publish the page and add these things after with your contribution? It’s going to expire. Thatmister123 (talk) 15:12, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

Sir @HitroMilanese, you reject my article Draft: Price Monitoring and emphasized that the article looks like an advertisement. Please, check it again, I made some rewrites, thank you WonderXcom (talk) 19:32, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

@WonderXcom
Hi there,
I see that you have made changes, however, I believe that there are need for more references from reliable sources. I will leave this for the fresh pair of eyes. Reagrds. Hitro talk 09:27, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

@HitroMilanese Good morning/afternoon Sir/Ma'am,

I understand your rejection, Although i have created improvements to the page. The question is to you, is it enough? Before you request 'Might require more sources', these are reasons you should factor:

  • Word-of-Mouth : Much info isn't going to be written down or released on the internet. The Ranks section has 0 public release as far as I am concerned. And the only reason why is that no other Fire Brigades in england shortened down the ranks. This is because they had more than one Division (Or whatever you would like to call it). Though Southport not only had just one Division, but just One station.
  • Confusion : There were two Southport Fire Brigades, one in Merseyside (One this article is about), and one in Australia. This can lead to some sources just not being used as there is 0 specification to what country, or any hits (Eg '.co.uk' or references a British Post Code 'Eg PR9 0LH' or Street, Village/Town/City.
  • Private Sources : Many information I would want to gather are tucked away in Facebook Groups. Many pieces of info for Glasgow Salvage Corps was found via that (And thankfully were not private pages).

I do apologise to give you quite an essay to read, I just like contributing to British Fire Brigade history (Bit obvious via my name haha).

Many thanks, FireBrigadeFanaticNO1 (talk) 22:29, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

Apologies for some of the issues/spelling errors in the page, wrote in a rush. The last one meant Facebook Groups which were 'Private'.
Also a quick question, draft:Helmets Limited is mainly off one source because one of the most helpful sources is that. Straightforward, the source is a book of the history. And is one of the only sources i can get that relate to early years of Helmets Limited.
Many thanks if you reply or help, FireBrigadeFanaticNO1 (talk) 22:32, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
Hello Sir,
The basis for acceptance of draft at AfC is the notability guidelines which is based on the theme that there must be verifiable, objective evidence that the subject has received significant attention from independent sources to support a claim of notability.
No subject is automatically or inherently notable merely because it exists: the evidence must show the topic has gained significant independent coverage or recognition, and that this was not a mere short-term interest, nor a result of promotional activity or indiscriminate publicity, nor is the topic unsuitable for any other reason. Sources of evidence include recognized peer-reviewed publications, credible and authoritative books, reputable media sources, and other reliable sources generally.
Information on Wikipedia must be verifiable; if no reliable, independent sources can be found on a topic, then it should not have a separate article. Wikipedia's concept of notability applies this basic standard to avoid indiscriminate inclusion of topics. Article and list topics must be notable, or "worthy of notice".
A topic is presumed to merit an article if:
  1. It meets either the general notability guideline (GNG) below, or the criteria outlined in a subject-specific notability guideline (SNG); and
  2. It is not excluded under the What Wikipedia is not policy.
At the moment, I do not believe that the topic is meeting the prerequisites of notability. However, I will leave this for different reviewer once you resubmit it. Regards. Hitro talk 11:43, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
