- “Observation” lists are inherently pretentious. (Yes, I went there.)
- Being blocked is not an indicator of bad behavior so much as an sign of activity. Almost everyone is WP:blocked or will be blocked one day. And, more often than not, it's actually quite brief. In other words, a block log is less like a damning "permanent record" and more of a pulse. No blocks means "flatline". On the other hand, obviously, being blocked often or for extended periods is still a bad sign (think "accellated heartbeat". And as to whether everyone really gets blocked? Well, don't my word for it; just ask Jimbo Wales![1]
- A user's popularity can be measured in Barnstars; the quality of their edits? Less so.
- Reverse psychology works.
