Firstly, apologies for writing in English if this is not your first language (this is an automated message).

The fix is very straightforward - all your styles relating to dark mode must be scoped to. Since there is a high risk of this templates being copied to other wikis it is important this notice is acted on ASAP.

To fix this:

  2. Wrap any styles relating to `html.skin-theme-clientpref-night` in `@media screen`

Weaponising discussions

[edit]

This use of green inline is being weaponised in diascussion to make it difficult for some users to follow discussion especially where talk pages become assult courses on the senses of individuals, Please remove the colors and use something less harmful like italics. Gnangarra 11:09, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give examples of this? Largoplazo (talk) 11:46, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Western_Australia#Excessive_out-of-scope_information_and_SYN_on_Esperance_articles_re_traditional_ownership its also littetred though the history of the page with one particular user using it on subject he no knowledge of to wedge discussion and drive users away. Gnangarra 11:49, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My perception of it is that the user is addressing specific comments by other users and is using the tag appropriately. Can you explain why you consider this to be weaponization or how the use of the quotes drives users away? What leads you to believe that this is driving users away, or that it's bothering users other than you? I'm sorry for asking so many questions but you stated the situation as though it were obvious and I'm not seeing it.
As for the green text, it looks fine to me, but if you happen to have trouble with it I can see if you can customize their appearance for yourself. Largoplazo (talk) 14:25, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
green text is the problem, the users has prvious been asked in person to stop using the temple, hie response it has to be fixed here. The user also cherry picks parts of discussion changing the meaning or intent of the questions being raise. Yes that second part is an user issue but the template preventing access is a template issue. Gnangarra 10:09, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"... has prviously [sic] been asked": by whom? By you? The user is using the template appropriately, for the purpose for which it's intended. You continue to leave it unclear whether lots of people are upset by the user's use of this template and are being "driven away", or only you. If it's other people as well, how do you know they're being "driven away" by it?
Since you're being unspecific and not answering all my questions, let me give you my perception of the situation, and let me know if this is incorrect: You're the only person who's bothered by it, and it isn't because there's anything wrong with the user using a quotation template for the purpose of quoting, it's only because the template displays the text in green and green is, for whatever reason, bothersome to you. Is that it?
In other words, are you asking for the way this template is displayed to be changed for everybody on Wikipedia because green bothers you? Note: If green does bother you, I recognize that there might be a valid sensory reason for that, but it still isn't reasonable to change the template just for you. As I've said, I can show you how to change how it displays for you. Largoplazo (talk) 11:29, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
