Description

{{DFDb name}} is a template used to generate an external link to an entry for a person in the Danish Film Database. In an article, it should only be used in the "External links" section.

For a company, use {{DFDb company}}.

For a work (film/movie, TV or Web program/series, video game, etc.), use {{DFDb title}}.

Usage

The required parameter is the ID string. The template then uses the article title as the anchor text:

* {{DFDb name|ID}}

To have the anchor text be other than the article name, use the second parameter:

* {{DFDb name|ID|Name}}

This is necessary when adding a Danish Film Database link to an article about somebody or something other than the linked person, or when linking in an article with a disambiguation such as e.g. Bent Christensen (director).

Detailed instructions

Basic

1. Copy and paste * {{DFDb name|ID}} into the article's "External links" section.
2. Go to www.dfi.dk/en/search and search for the person you want, say, Christina Rosendahl; you'll reach https://www.dfi.dk/en/search?query=Christina+Rosendahl.
3. Click on Christina Rosendahl in the result list; this will bring up the page https://www.dfi.dk/en/viden-om-film/filmdatabasen/person/christina-rosendahl.
4. Copy only the last part of the URL (here, christina-rosendahl).
5. Replace ID in the template code with christina-rosendahl.

You'll then have

* {{DFDb name|christina-rosendahl}} which in her article Christina Rosendahl results in:

• Christina Rosendahl in the Danish Film Database

With anchor text

1. Copy and paste * {{DFDb name|ID|Name}} into the article's "External links" section.
2. Go to www.dfi.dk/en/search and search for the person you want, say, Bent Christensen; you'll reach https://www.dfi.dk/en/search?query=Bent+Christensen).
3. Click on the correct Bent Christensen in the list; this will bring up the page https://www.dfi.dk/en/viden-om-film/filmdatabasen/person/bent-christensen.
4. Copy only the last part of the URL (here, bent-christensen).
5. Replace ID in the template code with bent-christensen, and replace Name with Bent Christensen.

You'll then have

* {{DFDb name|bent-christensen|Bent Christensen}} which in his article Bent Christensen (director) results in:

• Bent Christensen in the Danish Film Database
