[edit]Please see the Cuban artists checklist for background about this article, and please update it with any changes that you make to this article. —151.200.237.53 (talk) 01:23, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
In my opinion, this article either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Biographies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it is a Copyright violation.
Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources to verify any claims of notability. Even though the lack of reliable source attribution in an article is not grounds for deletion in itself, an article with absolutely no sources (or only external links to unreliable ones) suggests to some editors that multiple reliable sources may not, in fact, exist.
Although I am considering tagging this article for deletion according to the Deletion policy, I am nonetheless willing to assist User:ArleArt (talk · contribs), and other recent contributors to this article, to make constructive improvements to it ... I do not have time to examine this article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.
Please respond on this Discussion page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.

Full name vs. "Sánchez"
[edit]Just figured I'd pop over to the Talk to see if anyone else has thoughts about this.
I've been reading through the literature on Sánchez Domínguez to help clean-up and expand this article, and I've noticed that almost every source refers to her as "Zilia Sánchez" as opposed to her full Spanish name "Zilia Sánchez Domínguez" - what do we think about the titling of this article? All of her published obituaries use the shortened version in their titles and throughout the articles, aside from singular mentions of her full name when her birth details are stated, usually halfway through the obit (her obit in The Washington Post also spells her second last name as "Dominguez", without an accent). Per the bibliography included in her 2019 Phillips Collection monograph, all of her published monographs, catalogues, and exhibition statements going back to 1956 have used the shortened name. That bibliography also shows the shortened name for all the published interviews with her and articles about her, going back to a 1959 article in a Cuban publication. The shortened name is included in both English and Spanish-language sources, so it doesn't seem to be a difference of conventions.
I'm not proposing a move as I don't think I'm fully informed on Spanish-language name conventions, but I do wonder if the longer name is really necessary for the title. Thoughts? 19h00s (talk) 17:16, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
