missing some real facts
Alleged Illegal Activities
Dr. Y S R, who claims to have come from a middle class gdfamily reported during December 2006 that his family illegally owned 618 acres of land[2] in excess of Land Ceiling Act which existed for more than 30 years. He claimed he did not know he was over the limit. The opposition parties asked for his resignation for this violation of the law[3].
one more unresolved issue is that from the day he is sworn as CM he started minting money the clear evidence is the sudden announcement of a cement factory worth about 3000crores being started by in two years of his fathers rule that too with out any public offer whole and sole owned by the crook himself and a congress MLA from Karnataka, what sort of business in this world gives them 300 crores in two years period to invest and start new company ? its open cheating of the public and their funds.
Mr.YSR is very well know for changing names doesn't matter even if the construction or the structure or the scheme is present since years he changes name to Rajiv scheme and Indira scheme. now even government employees in state government are so confused with names of the schemes and structures that every second one has either Indira or Rajiv, He definitely is saving his ass if not then how come he never kept his daughter or son in their names ? ok i agree if they were born earlier why not he names his grandchildren is the question being running around peoples heads since many years. Who has the answer ? Does Dr.YSR has any answer for such question1? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sanjay.stocks (talk • contribs) 19:21, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

- Controversies is indeed maligning, the film davinci code has been released in Andhra Pradesh[1]. The initial protests from some christian minority groups can't be attributed to head of state who is a chirstian. I request if anyone has a credible source that Dr.YSR indeed has taken action to ban the film in Andhra Pradesh. Also his religious background, is not presenting the ground fact. It is his father who took to christianity well before he was born, and it can't be attributed it to Dr. YSR who is following his father's religion. It further shows how pseudo hindu fanatics play politics on an honest person who is following a religion of his liking. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.116.69.163 (talk • contribs).
- Certainly if he's a Christian, and that fact is important to the way he is received (which it obviously is), then the information ought to be included in the article. It seems that it would be just as POV to imply that we sdn't hold his religion against him because it was chosen by his father as it would be to say that his being a Christian means he persecutes Muslims and Hindus. NickelShoe (Talk) 04:06, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- Anon poster should learn about |No original research,a policy that is repeatedly violated on wikipedia by political propagandists. Notable accusations should always be cited, whatever the motivations. If the motivations are discussed by notable source then that should be included always. Rumpelstiltskin223 04:48, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
India being a secular republic, every person has right to choose any religion (not merely the one he is born in) and follow it. If a state of head is a christian, it doesn't mean that their policies are pro christain. In India, head of the state is chosen by the elected members indirectly, but not by people. Hence if he acts on his own, he iis bound to lose confidence of the house and it's members. It's highly unlikely that any party, let alone a single person can damage the secular image and the principles on which Indian democracy runs. It's deplorable to blame and level allegations simply his family is converted their religion. 203.116.69.163 (talk • contribs).
- It's not Wikipedia's job to only represent good viewpoints. If a group has "deplorable" views, the reader will read their view and know it--without us having to censor material for them. Just because we report that someone believes something doesn't mean we also believe it. I could say that Hitler believed that Jews were a danger to society--that doesn't mean that I actually think they are. Check out WP:NPOV for the basic policy. NickelShoe (Talk) 04:59, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. However, dozens of accusations are leveled at major political figures yearly, and only some of them are notable. We need to ensure that only the notable ones get on WP. In terms of the wording of the Tirupati/Tirumala problem, please see my post above. Hornplease

- All the people who vandalised have vanished in thin air. None seem to care to talk/discuss, except me who has been maintaining the content over months. I wonder how long does it take for those blind opposers to realize that mandate is clearlt aginst them, and falsifying on wiki makes little difference to their whims.
Religious background
[edit]Under Religious background, it has been stated that "Dr.YSR asked the Seventh-day Adventists to build a church on his estate [7] for his workers who converted to Christianity ."
The citation is invalid link, and moreover there is no other source that a church has been built or ordered to be built within his private estate. And recently he handed over most of the land of the estate to the govt. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.186.9.5 (talk • contribs).
the citation is invalid link, and there is no source available on internet to prove that he ordered builidng a church in his own estate. 203.116.69.163 (talk)
The link is valid. It states:
- Church in Cuddapah, India Dedicated
- On December 24, 2004, hundreds gathered for the dedication of the Maruti Nagar Adventist Church in Cuddapah, India. The church was funded by offering donations from the 2004 Maranatha Convention last November. The church, which seats 700, was designed with additional bays to accommodate the large constituency of Christians in the area.
- The church was built at the request of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. YSR, who is a Christian. Before being elected to his office, Dr. YSR asked the local Adventist field president if it was possible for a church to be constructed on his estate so that his workers would have a place to worship.
- The state of Andhra Pradesh has 500,000 Seventh-day Adventists and constitutes over half of India's total Adventist membership. --Vikramsingh 19:33, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Request to merge Alleged illegal activities and Controversies and the head "Controversies"
[edit]I don't see a reason to have 2 different sections and they can be merged, otherwise can be made sub-sections. Also the tile Alleged illegal activities is misleading, it can be put under controversy since no legal action has been taken or a it is not under a court's consideration for the excess land holdings by his family members beyond allowed legally.203.116.69.163(talk)

Attack on Ramoji Rao
[edit]It's been highly popularised. Shouldn't we include it ?
That was a cowardly act by a man in such position shame on his way of thinking and his behaviour, he behaved like a coward no doubt about it he failed to face the truth and misused the power of cheif Minister. Shame to congress to have such a coward as their leader. That day when he passed orders to cut down trees and destroy existing road laid by Ramoji Rao it showed the arrogance and cunningness as well as cowardness of Dr YSR. Is there any government which has destroyed a public road ? Doesn't matter who laid it, atlest he should have common sence that its been used by the public for their transport. india is struggling hard to develop when compared to other developed nations and in such situations how come one drags the development backwards just for his selfish reasons? Its definately shameful to have such leaders, if he is given chance he would exceed hitler even in cruelty, greediness and jelousy. What Public road are you talking about it was a road in land "occupied" by Ramoji Film city. Stop Supporting a land grabber just because he looks old and like a gentleman grow up —Preceding unsigned comment added by HydGuy (talk • contribs) 21:13, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Attack on Ramoji is Political Step.#
Ramoji Rao has on several occasions said that he is anti-Congress and as Congress Chief Minister, Dr YSR, has every right to protect his party and target his cticis. Ramoji Rao is not acting as a media man, who is expected to be unbiased. As he became more than a politician, he deserved a political action. A media man has to be a media man to talk of freedom of press when he is attacked. But, in this case, Ramoji Rao was and even continuous to be a politician and should face action from other politicians with the same spirit and should not take shelter in his media.
In additon to this, Ramoji Rao has been indulging in several irregularities in his financial and other business activities. He went against the Reserve Bank of India rule in collection of deposits by the Margadarsi Financiers. Taking protection under the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), Ramoji Rao had evaded tax to the government and whenever the tax officials made any attempt to collect the tax, he has been using his "Eenadu" paper to fight against them. It was in this background, YSR's government had acted. The action too was not on Eenadu, but on Financial compnay.
To protect this financial company, Ramoji Rao planted several stories against cooperative banks and was responsible for closure of several cooperative banks and private finance companies and chit fund companies.
The action of the government against Ramoji Rao has to be supported for these reasons.
Copyedit and NPOV
[edit]I have just performed a fairly major cleanup on this article. I was intending just to perform a copyedit, but have ended up removing some unsourced material to get it slightly closer to NPOV. This article was formerly a disgrace and, frankly, it's still quite bad. We cannot have paragraphs like this with no references whatsoever:
Achievements
[edit]1) Andhra Pradesh is number one state In India according to central census buearu on Feb7th,2007. 2) Pensions to 40 Lakhs People. 3) 21 Lakhs Houses completed to poor under Indiramma in first three and half years of power with the target of 80 Lakhs by 2009. 4) 74 Minor, Medium and Major Irrigation Projects to Farmers. 5) Land distribution to poor. 6) Jalayagnam to provide Water to the Farmers by completing projects and provided new ayucut to 14 Lakh acres. 7) International Air port Hyderabad. 8) IIT, IIIT to Andhra Pradesh. 9) Arogya Sri for Healthy Andhra Pradesh. 10) Free power to Farmers since May 14th,2004.
Not only is this incomprehensible, being extremely badly written and formatted, but it's shamelessly biased and unsourced. Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a fansite for YSR! Every claim here needs a reliable source. There is a lot of work to do to make this article acceptable. -- TinaSparkle (talk) 18:32, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
about Dr YSR, he recalls his amma(mother) in name of sonia gandhi(Reference From TV9). He is converted Christian(Reference from Wikipedia). most of people in state believes ,he supports for mass conversions to Christianity in state(Reference from Rss magazines). His father is one of famous factionist in his district and state also(reference from Eenadu). He has been looting peoples(government) money. He mostly believes in looting governments money and not for development of state. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.237.81.41 (talk) 19:32, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Death
[edit]Since the sudden demise of their beloved leader Dr YSR, shell-shocked, 30 people died in different parts of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. In East Godavari, nine people died, while former minister Jakkampudi Ramamohan Rao fainted on hearing the news. Seven died of heart attack and shock, while two hanged themselves unable to bear the grief. Promoting Christianity?
[edit]"Dr YSR was also accused by Hindu religious bodies and nationalist groups of promoting Christian agenda and pushing Christian evangelism[citation needed]. His son-in-law is a Pastor. Dr YSR got his Christian step brother to become the Managing Trustee of the TTD (Tirupathi Tirumala Devasthanam) board, where after the devotees donations received by the temples were channeled to Mosques and Churches[citation needed].
Dr YSR got auctioned land/estates belonging to a number of temples.
Dr YSR started providing Rs. 20, 000 per person subsidy for Christians visiting Jerusalem and Bethlehem. He launched a 5% reservation for Muslims - against the provisions of Indian Constitution. He also promoted reservation for Dalit Christians, a cause espoused by Mrs. Sonia Gandhi as well - as a backdoor means to opening floodgates of Christian conversion."
- I don't know who has written this, but please provide proper citations to it. I am deleting this for now until someone gives proper citations. YSR has only recently died and of course loads of people will be visiting Wikipedia and seeing this article, and of course none of us wants to give incorrect info. - Well, his religion cannot be assessed purely from the places he visits...Even I visit a temple, but I am not a hindu. YSR states himself as Christian and so that is basis enough for encylcopaedic material. Swaroop (talk) 14:48, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- He was buried in accordance to Christian tradition. That should be reason enough to ascertain his religious identity. FYI, his grandfather converted to Christianity and was forced to move out of the village after being boycotted. --AltruismT a l k - Contribs. 04:37, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

- Not done: as you have not requested a specific change in the form "Please replace XXX with YYY" or "Please add ZZZ between PPP and QQQ".
More importantly, you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 08:46, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
