GAO decision on SNC protest

[edit]

The GAO issued a statement in January of 2015, outlining the decision to deny SNC's protest.

GAO disagreed with Sierra Nevada’s arguments about NASA’s evaluation, and found no undue emphasis on NASA’s consideration of each offeror’s proposed schedule, and likelihood to achieve crew transportation system certification not later than 2017.  GAO also noted that, contrary to Sierra Nevada’s assertions, the RFP clearly advised offerors that their proposals would be evaluated against the goal of certification by the end of 2017.

GAO concluded that SNC's arguments were not supported by the evaluation record or by the terms of the solicitation.

Award

[edit]

William Gerstenmaier is to receive an award "Recogizing Excellence In Space Outreach" at the World Space Week Awards Reception on March 3, 2009. I don't presently see a posting at WorldSpaceWeek.org, but presuming one is forthcoming, a reference or press release may soon be available to cite. Tomligon (talk) 15:40, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question on Wording/Title

[edit]

(Quote): In 2002, Gerstenmaier was named Manager of the International Space Station Program. Mike Suffredini replaced Gerstenmaier as the International Space Station Program manager. (end Quote) Could anyone please explain the difference between "Manager of the International Space Station Program" and "International Space Station Program manager" ? Thanks!
