Transliteration
[edit]The ON 'Þórir' is always transliterated into ModE as Thorir, without exception. Also, considering the ModE spelling is closer to ON than bokmaal, and the pronunciation exactly the same in ModE 'Thorir' as in ON 'Þórir' (Tore only sounds vaguely reminiscent of Þórir), as such I think this spelling is more appropriate for the English wikipedia. Ditto for Olaf versus Olav. DDH89 (talk) 19:00, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. I've changed the spellings inside the article from Tore > Thorir, Snorre > Snorri, et cetera. I'm guessing someone with a strong nationalist agenda changed them to modern Norwegian forms. BodvarBjarki (talk) 14:26, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't know why you think it is nationalist to use a modern name in a modern article. Why is it better to use these archaic names that you "invented"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.37.148.43 (talk) 12:42, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorting
[edit]Please explain. I thought I had failed to save when you reverted so quickly. Finavon (talk) 21:51, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- I should have left an edit summary. My point is that I don't see why we should sort him by his nickname. Would you sort Robin Hood as Hood, Robin? Haukur (talk) 22:23, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Blacklisted link
[edit]I got this:
An automated process has detected links on this page on the local or global blacklist. If the links are appropriate you may request whitelisting by following these instructions; otherwise consider removing or replacing them with more appropriate links. (To hide this tag, set the "invisible" field to "true")
It was actually a normal hit in google. So, the automated process made an errot. Someone may want to fix it perhaps? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:999:50:7F92:34:F5D4:8FD2:1A1C (talk) 20:48, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
