Discussion
[edit]This will be moved to Talk section, once the article will be approved by wikipedia. I cannot find the better place for now and there are people who could probably share their opinions about the contents of this article.
- I value simplicity so I prefer "expanding" from "threat of expanding". The second is more formal, but the first is simple yet contains the necessary information.
- The names of the columns and rows of the matrix were not originally defined. However, in the articles we sometimes need to refer to them, so we are into proposing some names. We propose Threats and Vulnerabilities, but we are opened for discussion.
- From the Talk page of German wikipedia Gefahren Matrix article I get the impression that perhaps the extended Gefahren Matrix should be chosen instead. What is your suggestion? We would like to stick to whatever is preferable by German practitioners.
- Something should be done about the order of the Threats. German wikipedia article lacks consistency: the graphics show different order than the listing in the article. I know there is some reason, but still, deciding upon one version would have obvious benefits. I will adopt English article to whatever is decided in German.
- There is this puzzle with correct classifying of a man jumping from the roof. In general, I understand each such situation results in checking all possible threats, not just the one best-suited (e.g. a growing cloud of chemicals results in checking both [x]chemical and [x]expanding, not just the better one). I think this clarification in wikipedia article would be welcome and useful. Since I am not at all competent could you please explain this issue in the English article?

- Also in Germany there's a big discussion about the "classical" and the "extendet" matrix. The "classical" is mainly used at the training centers for commanders. The extendet version is recommented by several specialist books. I think it should be the same here than in de.Wikipedia: presenting the classical, and the information about the extended version as additional information.
- the graphic and the main headlines (here and at the german page) are in order of the first publication of the matrix, sometimes you find it in alphabetical order instead (I just reordert the graphic to this first publcation's order) But there isn't any rule for the order.
- Let's decide upon one and only order then. Can we? If we extra use the symbols A1, A2... we can ease cross-language understanding of the concepts. Mimooh (talk) 10:16, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
- The man on the roof is a thread through fear AND (after the jump) a thread through injury, the chemical cloud is both chemical AND expanding. The commander has to decide which thread is the most threatening and how to fight it. But this is a result of the "Führungsvorgang" ("the way of thinking to come to a conclusion (rapidly)" - I don't know a proper translation), the matrix is just the first step of this way.
