Birthyear
[edit]Was Teri born in 1944 or 1949? She is listed under both dates on different sites. Hotwine8 04:15, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- If she were born in 1949, she would have only been 14 when A Swingin' Affair was released. --rogerd 04:24, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- She graduated from North Hollywood High School in 1962, as noted on the school website. (See [1] in body of article). It is apparent that she wasn't born in 1948 or 1949. T.E. Goodwin 01:17, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Since multiple websites give differing dates - and this was noted in the article, it's better to not have it at all. WP:BLPPRIVACY says it has to be well sourced - conflicting sources is not well sourced. I've removed it. Toddst1 (talk) 23:19, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Toddst1: I've relegated this birth year dispute to a footnote in the article; we know Garr was born sometime in the 1940s, but the year ranges from 1944 to 1949 depending on the source. The fact that it's so contradictory among sources is troubling. Some editors have tried reverting the changes I made in regard to this, but I am going to keep an eye on it. --Drown Soda (talk) 03:06, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Drown Soda: Teri Garr's book, Speedbumps (ISBN 1-59463-007-0 or ISBN-13: 9781594630071), says on p. 10 and p. 19 that she was eleven when her father died. If it's accepted that her father died in 1956 (September, per [1] and [2]) and that her birthday is in December, then the year of her birth is 1944.73.50.214.7 (talk) 23:25, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
- She's listed in the 1950 Census as 5 years old, which would correspond to late 1944.--Shivertimbers433 (talk) 23:12, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

- Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. IMDB states that she was born on 1947. If you have any further questions/comments please reply here and place a {{talkback}} tag on my talk page. Thanks, Stickee (talk) 13:16, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Dialogue before Head
[edit]Garr and others claim that "Head" was the first movie where she had dialogue. However, in the 1967 movie "The Cool Ones" she also had a line during the scene where she and the other "Whiz-Bam" dancers threatened the producers of the Hullabaloo-type TV show for firing Debbie Watson's character. She can be seen with her arm around the shoulder of a shorter male dancer saying "Well, I thought it was great." She wasn't credited, but neither were many of the other "Whiz-Bam Dancers." ---------User:DanTD (talk) 13:42, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
retirement claim
[edit]We cannot find any source from 2011 reporting she retired then. All we have is a 2019 source claiming she retired in 2019. I've tweaked our statement to reflect this distinction. Also, this belongs in the Retirement section. CapnZapp (talk) 20:26, 23 November 2023 (UTC)

- "Teri was formerly also a scientologist. Need data." Definitely need data. I can find zero on the Internet connecting Teri Garr and Scientology. ~~ EricTN (talk) 08:53, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
