The article implies that he retired in the early 90s and focused on VA work since then. Could we get more details on his work since 1990? Or did he truly retire that year? eksortso (talk) 17:30, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:SOURCE, I removed the citation given for date of death. It's from Google Groups, is clearly marked as a rumour, and they don't even get his age right (they say 91, he was 81). If a source is even required, a more reputable one is needed. 136.159.160.121 (talk) 16:34, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Upon examining the source presently cited as evidence for Hinnant's passing, I'm going to vote that both citation and death date be removed from this page. The source cited is for a Yale Class of '62 online reunion hub/newsletter of sorts, and while it does mention Hinnant's passing at the bottom of the page with a promise of a full obituary to follow, if you look under the obituary subheading listed on the side you'll find no such entry has been made in the nearly year since this. After reaching out directly to the webmaster at the email listed at the top of the Yale Class of '62 page, I was able to confirm with them that this is because Hinnant's death is not confirmed at this time and this point has been clarified in subsequent news bulletins on the site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:803:180:1420:FC5D:7354:1D6B:54D (talk) 16:50, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
