TV-14!!!!
[edit]Why did the episode get a TV-14 rating? Many episodes have been worse than this and had TVPG. Should this be included in the article?
- No, it is not important and your definition of "worse" might not be the same as the censor's definition. Ctjf83Talk 00:56, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Actually, it was rated TV-14 (In australia; Watched online), because of the sexual refrances in the erotic bakery, the violence of Homer being a bounty hunter, And because of its coarse language! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.179.52.141 (talk) 01:32, 29 September 2008 (UTC) Oh, and because of the "Meth set" scene. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.179.52.141 (talk) 03:27, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Bart's shirt
[edit]What's with Bart's shirt at the beginning of the episode? I goes from green, to his normal red shirt, then back to green for the rest of the St. Patricks day celebration? That has to be a goof. Vandalism destroyer (talk) 01:26, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- If so, we don't list goofs on article pages. Ctjf83Talk 01:29, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Wanted
[edit]This episode remind anyone else of the movie 'Wanted'? They use several spoofs from the movie such as the car through the train and the bounty hunters going after Homer in the end. Just wondering if this could be added to the page RyuujinZero (talk) 03:31, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- This episode was produced last year and would have been ready for broadcast in May. Wanted came out in June, so odds are that they are not intentional references. -- Scorpion0422 14:39, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
The car chasing the train is taken from the french connection —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.149.173.232 (talk) 05:07, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
District B13
[edit]Was the acrobatic, building-jumping chase with Ned and Homer a nod to the French film? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.94.42.235 (talk) 23:03, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I believe this episode's pointless acrobatics through the construction site was a parity of the mindless chase scene in James Bond 007: Casino Royale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.204.4 (talk) 03:24, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Bounty Hunters
[edit]About 17 minutes in, Ned is told to bring in Homer and if he doesn't, another bounty hunter will. The bounty hunters presented include a bear with raccoon nunchucks and a woman with a gun for a leg, among others. Does anybody recognize the rest and perhaps put it into cultural references?
I think one of it was Dog The Bounty Hunter, and I don't know why it wasn't in the Pop Culture reference —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.161.156.187 (talk) 19:07, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- The bear is the same throw sprite they've used when Homer fought a bear, as well as numerous other episodes. The others, I don't specifically recall, but they do seem familiar somehow. Annihilatron (talk) 20:05, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Doesn't that bear with raccoon nunchucks kind of look like Tim the Bear from The Cleveland Show?-JoeMonkeyPotato (talk) 00:24, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
The girl with a gun leg was from Grindhouse (film) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.44.213.209 (talk) 19:51, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Identity politics in Ireland
[edit]Would anyone object to me changing the description of the rioting factions in the plot section? I see that the groups are defined as 'Irish' and as 'British'. The term 'British' doesn't explain much about who these people are so they should be identified with their chosen sub-identity. The problem here is that the factions in Northern Ireland do not always fall under these categories, there is great potential for offence here. Instead a more neutral description would be 'nationalist Irish' versus 'Loyalist Northern Irish'. Neither side would view this as bias. Another alternative would be simply 'Nationalist' and 'Unionist' and maybe these words would link to the explanation of the nomenclatures. Let me know what you think before I make any changes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.152.237.111 (talk) 06:55, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
'Nationalist' and 'Unionist' would be far more accurate. Can I also add that if a cartoon came out in America with the line 'Where are Al-Qaeda when you need them?', there would be such controversy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.106.201.132 (talk) 09:37, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- I completely agree. I don't think that Americans really know how serious of an issue it was though. Many Americans (I assume of Irish decent) even donated money to the IRA (perhaps without realising what they were funding). But Americans don't like to be told that their people were supporting terrorism before they got a taste of it. [1] Zestos (talk) 20:32, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Would it be possible to put the fact that there is currently no conflict between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland?--90.206.240.170 (talk) 17:45, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
