I mean, where to begin? Listing every single competitor in a table and then having a second table showing the results seems fairly ridiculous, that is until you scroll down and find the other tables of overall statistics and yet another table seperating contestants by region. And then there's the language of the actual prose, containing gems like On Saturday, November 12, 2022, breakers from across the world will reunite for this important moment in the art form's trajectory to battle it out at the world's most highly anticipated one-on-one breaking competition" which is obviously not the neutral tone expected in an enctyclopedia. And then there's athe fact that almost every single one of the sources are from Red Bull itself. If this event is so important, surely sources other than Red Bull's website and Bboyworld.com have written about it, so where is that coverage? Hi, I've just started editing Wikipedia and this article was suggested as one that needs improvement.
I agree with all of your points, this article is quite messy. I updated the language and provided some non-primary sources for 2024, 2023, and 2022.
A lot of this article definitely reads like it was taken verbatim from Red Bull marketing material.
Yeah I just finished trying to make it sound a bit more neutral, looking over I think it may be a bit overkill to have a list of all competitors and the results from each year listed every year, but that may just be me so I didn't remove any of the lists. If a more experienced wiki editor would like to take a look and judge, that'd be appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eveofdawn (talk • contribs) 15:46, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've zapped a bunch of redundant or uneccesary material, and I and others have tried to fix the language to be more neutral, I think we can probably remove the current tags, but I thinbk I will be tagging it for sourcing issues, which is still a problem.
