This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
I would like to propose that the term "Pewds" be redirected to the PewDiePie Wikipedia page. "Pewds" is a widely recognized nickname for PewDiePie, and redirecting it would help users find the page more easily.
Kjellberg promoted YouTuber E;R, a content creator who included a Hitler speech in one of his videos. E;R himself is a self-admitted Anti-Semitic nazi, writing on his Gab account, when another user asked him, “What is the best way to red pill people on the Jewish Question,” the owner of the E;R channel responded, “Pretend to joke about it until the punchline /really/ lands.” Should he be referred to as a Alt-right Nazi/definitive anti-semite on this page? E;R was a relatively small moment in PDP's career (I will state that that is my opinion and I'm saying it with the benefit of retrospect, I'm saying it's small in the sense that it really just came and went, especially and relative to the other controversies PDP is associated with) so I think it would be undue to include more than the gist of the situation i.e. PDP recommending small creators to his viewerss, with one said creator being E;R and PDP garnering criticism because of the content in E;R's videos (of which it would be important to include PDP stating he was largely unaware of E;R's other videos), and then PDP removing the reference to E;R from the recommendation video. This is why I'm removing the information of the Steven Universe-related video that E;R made, as it really doesn't have anything to do with PewDiePie and his recommendation of the Death Note video. Referencing The Verge's noting of the situation in the text already incorporates the information about E;R's content being what it is. IMO, we don't need the extra Rebecca Sugar/Steven Universe content. That would be more befitting or relevant to include on an E;R article if that were ever to be made. Or perhaps if used as an example on an article discussing problematic/censored content on YouTube.
As far as referring to the individual creator as such, then no. Unless there are ample amounts of sources referring to him as such. But even then we would have to word it in context, i.e. "E;R has been described as [insert adjective here] by [insert sources here]". It would be better to just refer/describe his content as per the sourcing. Soulbust (talk) 18:16, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, because this article is about PewDiePie, not "E;R".
