This article mixes 3 or 4 similar missiles. P-5 was (called SS-N-3c Shaddock in Western circles) cruise missile with nuclear warhead to threaten US coast, P-7 was it's longer ranged successor. Both were more or less unguided with CEP of about 3000 m.

P-6 (SS-N-3a Shaddock) was a radar-homing missile developed from P-5 to hit carriers. As far I've seen sources, it was used only from Juliett and Echo II onward. P-6 was used only in submarines, as surface ships used similar missile called P-35 Progress (SS-N-3b Shaddock). That was very much like SSC-1 'Sepal', that was ground based version of P-35. That's what FAS says.[1]

Name

[edit]

There is no official name of missile. "Pyatyorka" is military jargon nickname. It would be better to remove "Pyatyorka" from article name.Ходок (talk) 08:10, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
